Next 8 Games Could Determine the Hawks Future

After signing Benjamin and beating the Kings last night the Hawks have a little momentum gong into Cleveland tonight.The next 8 games may have a direct impact on the Hawks in more ways than one. 6 out of the 8 games are vs. teams the Hawks should beat. Coming up are the Cavs twice, Knicks, Heat, Warriors,and Raptors. The toughest two are the 76ers and Magic but both of these teams are only one game over .500.

The current group must prove that can be succesful and make some kind of a run this year. These next 8 games may be their last chance to prove it with trade deadline looming closer and closer with the Hawks sinking further out of the playoffs while being over the salary cap.

If the Hawks were to win 6 out of the next 8 games they would be 21- 30. This does not look impressive but it is good enough to stay in contention and make a legit 2nd half run at dare we say, the playoffs. It may be enough to keep this team together for the year.

However there is another side of the coin. If the Hawks lose these next few games vs. the WORST teams in the NBA, then trades should be inevitable. The lottery will become the focus if the Hawks can't do anything Now.

If the Hawks do fall on their face in the next 2 weeks I hope JT and Reef stay. They are the only ones that bring it every night consistently.

So these next games mean alot, atleast they should. Keep watching, at least 2 more weeks. Pete and Stan will be watching with their hands on the future of this organization.
