Gray Mule
Atlanta won last night! No longer in last place in the east! Yes we did, too! Final score was 5-2 and the new coach's record is 5-1-1-0! Oh yeah, and the Hawks lost. Again. End of two game winning streak. With Nubie out and Jason Terry not at 100 %, the three's fell like raindrops on the Hawks. Why is it that teams seem to get red hot when they face the defense of the Hawks? N.Y. couldn't miss from the three point range early in the game. With a small lead, N.Y. and Atlanta traded shot for shot in the game. Trouble was, every time the Hawks hit for two, N.Y. was hitting for three and gaining a point on every exchange. SAR was ice cold in the first half and red hot in the second half. Hawks had to use all three centers because of foul trouble. All three have improved their offensive game recently, shooting much better. They just can't seem to get the hang of playing defense without making the foul. Dream becomes nightmare: In your dream, you are in the middle of a tunnel. You see a light at the end of the tunnel. Good, you think. Moments later you discover that the light is the front end of a speeding train coming right at you and you have no place to run. The Hawks got run over by the train last night when their modest two game winning streak came to a screeching stop. Two steps foreward and one step back. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Benjiman exploded on to the scene for the Hawks and looked so fine in the beginning. Took that one step back last night. And now, Hawks get the opportunity to head back in the right direction tonight. Can we do another about face and win one? I certainly hope so. Seems that, for the last several seasons, the Hawks have been "Almost" good enough to be winners. Close, but no cigar. Oh yeah, and Atlanta beat N.Y last night, 5-2!
