It appears that the Braves were unable to deal for a starting pitcher before the deadline. IMO, getting another starting pitcher was the one thing they really needed to do. I just don't see how anyone can expect the Braves to have success in the postseason with the starting rotation as it is.

The Braves did have a last ditch attempt at getting Bronson Arroyo, but the Reds apparently said no to a package that had JoJo Reyes and Yunel Escobar in it. I'm very surprised that the Braves would offer up Escobar after trading Andrus and after offering Renteria in a trade earlier for Jon Garland.
