Guest
You don't even know the difference between a scrub player and a star player." The only way that would be possible is because the Hawks haven't had a star player in so long I forgot what one is. " No one listens to you, stupid!" You're responding aren't you? "sorry excuse for a fan ass." No,you have it backwards...you and the other 10 hardcore supporters are the sorry fans.AND THE STUPID ONES I MIGHT ADD. You can take those rosey colored glasses of yours and shove them up you're poop shoot. The funny thing is that I'll be the one banned for defending myself from some hardcore twits that can't even see the truth, even when a legend coach tells it too them! But hey, after some meaningless wins you're popping out the whine to celebrate. Oh well.Do me a favor KB,I will not respond to you and don't respond to me and we'll both be happy. Guest
I'm not saying Glover and Newble shouldnt be kept if we can keep them at a cheap price. But I wouldn't give either a big contract....I think it would be foolish to do so. It just gets on my nerves when people make players out to be better than they really are. Like I hear people call Rip Hamilton a superstar... Surely people know better than that. Glover has been impressive, but can he do it next year with a contract?Looking back at Alan Henderson and Chris Crawford, I really don't see why it seems so absurd to you guys that one or both of these guys could be simply playing for a contract.Alot of players do it don't they? There is alot of question marks. If Glover can give 16PPG 5RPG 3.5APG next year and we can get some talent for the bench there might be a legit shot at something. But can he do it for a full season? Things just aren't that simple.Upgrades to the bench is also a big need. Can the pick be packaged with some one to get some bench help? Everytime there is a good feel that the team is doing better they crash and burn.Shareef promised a better season for this year and he couldn't deliver. And Chillz I didn't stop watching the team for a little while, but I don't completely give up for some reason. I guess I am that stupid.
cynic
"I'm not saying Glover and Newble shouldnt be kept if we can keep them at a cheap price. But I wouldn't give either a big contract....I think it would be foolish to do so. " I agree with this. I believe that both players should be kept, but I don't think we should give either one more than a 4 year contract for more than, say $2-3 mil per year. I'd do a 1 year deal for Glove if possible. One bit of wisdom that applies to all sports: Players who have a history of injuries generally continue that history. General managers have long been unaware of that sage advice. We counted on Toni, Chris Crawford, and Alan Henderson to stay healthy, and they could not. How could we expect them too? They never had before. The Braves traded for Brian Jordan and expected him to play 100%, but he couldn't. He never had before. This should be obvious to most, but the problem is TOO MUCH OPTIMISM. We cannot EXPECT Glover to be injury-free for the rest of his career, because he HAS NOT BEEN thus far. I challenge anyone here to give me an example of a player who had injuries in three straight seasons and then miraculously played injury free after that. I am not as negative as you, Hotlantadude, but I am, after all, a realist.
