So what is your point??? that because he was healthy four years ago that he will be healthy again now that he is 30 and entering his 11th year in the league? That is the opposite of logical you know... Centers usually start playing a lot worse (and a lot less after) their 11th season.

Jermain has been on the decline the last three years (not counting this one) why do you expect him to all of a sudden regain his old form at the age of 30? Not to mention that his contract makes JJ's look like a sack of nickels.

I'm not crazy about Biedrins, but I would take one 21 yo Biedrins right now over 2 30 yo Jermain O'Neals in a heart beat.

yeah, he was healthy before, when he was YOUNGER

the trend lately is for him to NOT be healthy

(btw, speedy played 71 games for nola the year before we got him, 62 the year before, 60 the year before; so jermaine's recent injury history is WORSE than speedy's was coming here...and speedy played 42 games last year)

JB is the one who wanted us to trade for Steve Francis. Where is Francis now? Buried on the bench in Houston, his 3rd team in a year.

He likes high priced vets on the decline. After all they are such a good match with our young team with ownership issues.

Francis would still be a better option at point than what we have right now. But this board isn't excited about a trade unless it is a slow stiff center.

Here is what McGrady had to say about Francis

Francis Out Of Rotation Due To Being Out-Of-Shape

October 29, 2007 - 1:41 pm

Houston Chronicle -

After not playing much last year with the Knicks (44 games), and knowing the Rockets were overstocked at point guard, Steve Francis should have come to camp prepared to compete for playing time.

Instead, he came to camp looking to play his way into shape. Adelman hasn't allowed him to play enough for that to happen.

"He's not the player that he once was, because he's slowed down, he's aged," said Tracy McGrady, who has two years more NBA experience than Francis.
