Dallas waives Nick Fazikus

Im sure I spelled his name wrong but espn says he is the 1st casualty of the nets/mavs trade. I dont know anything about him except alot of you cried for him over Anthony Johnson.

I saw this kid play some at Nevada and he is a really good shooter for his size. Probably more of a PF on the NBA level but he could certainly help the hawks out.

He's a big that can hit a long range jumper. Not much of anything in the post. Sort of alike Frija from early last year. I wouldn't say he's a quality big man, but he would be a roster filler if can't get anyone else.

I agree that he is a good shooter for his size but disagree that he could help the Hawks. We need a physical big and this kid is far from physical. With Bibby and Richardson in the fold (assuming he sticks), our 3-ball needs should be filled. Again, what we need is a situational goon.

He would be more of a true filler i guess..He's got pretty good size but his skillset wouldnt earn him more time.

I wouldn't mind the Hawks signing him. He can come in and strech the floor by pulling opposing big men away from the basket (with his jumper). I also agree we need a man who will run through a brick wall for you like Mark Madsen. Be interested to see what happends as we get closer to the deadline.

We should have room for 2 bigs since we sent out Lo and Sheldon. I agree that one should be a banger/defensive type but Fazikus would be a nice change of pace big for the other spot. None of our current bigs have any real range and a player like Nick might help occasionally stretch the floor to give our wings room to operate.
