Al Horford article

[from article] "He impressed the Hawks enough to take him with the third pick in the draft, a rare good judgment call from a team that is more famous for whom they passed on than whom they actually selected in recent years."

had to throw that little dig in there for us. As if any of us needed reminding...

It too bad for Horford that he is surrounded by players that only know losing. If he playing with players that knew winning. He would be a lock for ROY,probably be on one of the all-defensive teams, and most importantly be in the playoffs.

Marvin won a title in UNC, Law was a winner at A&M, Joe was a winner in Phoenix, Chill was a winner at Stanford, Salim was a winner at Arizona, etc... BK has made a point of drafting nothing but winners and good character guys. Then they get into the Woodson vortex of insanity and lose.

Not to mention his coach forgets him on the bench. doh.gif

He has spent the last two weeks on top of the rookie rankings.

If he can just continue to score in double figures he should get it.

I am starting to be a little concerned about his defensive rebounding though. It has been falling off a bit. On the season he is averaging 6.8 defensive rebounds compared to 6.1 for smith. That gap was a lot wider a couple of months ago.

The Hawks currently rank 26th in the league in defensive rebounding. That just doesn't cut it.
