The Neccesity of Big Dog.

Diesel,

Yes, I watched the games... Reef's shooting percentage increase was due MORE to the fact that he was more selective with his shots and passing WAY MORE then Big Loaf's presence.

Did Reef get doubled more... YES! But, the double came BEFORE Reef got the ball as compared to the past. Reef would get the GIANT overplay by as many as three players.

I am not defending JT. I think JT is a worthless PG. He is a good compliment at SG at best and would gladly wave bye if he expected 50 Million. I just loathe Big Loaf and his laziness and his pathetic game.

I've seen scrubs with more desire than that bum. I've seen scrumbs with more ALL-AROUND skills. The guy can shoot. Woo-boy!

Play.

I am glad someone is talking some sense around here. We do not need to get rid of Glenn Robinson. You need a spot up shooter/scorer on the roster.

That would be a huge mistake to get rid of Robinson without getting something EQUIVALENT in return. If not then we need to stop this "get rid of" discussion right now.

[censored] most NBA analysts compare Carmelo Anthony's game to Glenn Robinson, but not as good of a shooter as Glenn yet. Why in the [censored] would we get rid of a more polished Carmelo Anthony???

We better not get rid of Glenn!!!

It's not about Robinson's skills in my opinion. It's his effort and attitude. I think he can be a huge plus for our team if he throws his ego out the door and dedicates himself to the team effort. Every team definitely needs a jump shooter like Glenn.

What you see in Glenn Robinson is what you get. He doesn't have a huge ego, he is just an excellent mid range pure shooter with average handles and average defense. This is just his game.....

Now what we need to be concentrating our discussions on is how to use him EFFECTIVELY in the offense and that is a function of the COACH and OFFENSIVE SCHEMES that are run on the floor when he is in. DO NOT run the offense through Glenn like you would a Duncan or Kobe. That is not his game. Get the ball to him only when the offensive play/scheme EXPECTS him to shoot the ball, because that is what he does. He is a specialist and that is shooting the ball. Again a function of Coaching...using your players strengths to maximize the success of your team...that is called coaching. You can't expect everyone to be able to do everything well on the team. That is not realistic.

Let us discuss how to use him and not how to get rid of him!!!

I don't mean 'ego' as in being boastful or thinking he is above everyone else. I guess I mean it in the sense that it's as if he thinks he's as good as he needs to be. How hard does Robinson work? Does he bust his [censored] during the offseason to get in shape, build chemistry with the team? These are probably questions you could throw at a lot of the players in this league. Maybe that was the wrong word to use. All I'm saying is, if Robinson really appears to be working hard to help us become a winning team than I'm all for keeping him, if not, get him out of here.

In reply to:

Robinson wants to prove his dedication to team chemistry by participating in the Abdur-Rahim led voluntary monthly workouts in September. In spite of all the changes and the challenges that moving to Atlanta will bring time-wise, Robinson will be at the Sept. 21st and 22nd practices in order to “get the team building and chemistry started as soon as possible.”

Okay maybe Glenn is a little below average in those two categories.

I am just reporting that most NBA analysts compare Carmelo's Game with Glenn Robinson.

Yes Carmelo is a better passer and dribbler but he is not as good of a shooter as Glenn Robinson.

I agree with the comparison to a certain extent. Of course nobody has exactly the same game but if you were to compare him to anyone in the league right now who would you compare Carmelo too??

And again we do not need to get rid of Robinson. We will be the worst scoring team in the league without Robinson.
