Premium Member mrhonline Posted April 9, 2008 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2008 Seeing how that completely sucked, let's talk Salim Stoudamire, okay? I took all of the (62) games he's played as a Hawk where he received 20+ minutes, and extrapolated it out to 36 minutes (a 1.37 conversion ratio, which should be fairly reliable): 17.6 pts 3.1 rebs 2.2 asts 0.9 stls 2.1 to's 3 pfs 52% eFG 57% TS I then applied the same criteria to Eddie House during the three seasons he was the same age (23-25). The results (a very similar 1.34 conversion ratio): 14.7 pts 3.6 rebs 3.9 asts 1.7 stls 1.8 to's 2.6 pfs 45% eFG 46% TS Salim is by far the superior shooter/scorer at this point in their careers, while House is better in all other facets of the game. What says you?
TheTruth
Does it REALLY matter when Salim (and apparently Acie now) won't see the floor unless it's an absolute blowout or injury? Just saying...

Premium Member mrhonline Posted April 9, 2008 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2008 By the way, I love Basketball-reference.com. I looked for the following combined season averages: 6-2 or shorter guard 3-pt era (since 1979) >1.8 to's 3pt% > 38% Link to results So, basically, I was looking for an undersized guard with range who isn't a point guard. The only two results were players who quickly fell out of the NBA...

If he couldn't get time this year with all the pg injuries we have had he never will. He is irrelevant.

DJlaysitup
It should be Salim against Acie in a "cage match". No time limit. Winner gets 5-7 minutes per game with the Hawks and loser gets traded. Hold it? Hmmmm...that could be a boring match...what happens if both guys take a dive? TheTruth
Hm, I wouldnt. Salim is a very undersized SG. Acie is a PG. We need to keep Acie and develop him!
WraithSentinel
I would like to talk about something else but I cannot get passed the fact the Hawks just screwed up a golden chance tonight.
