The veteran small forward had been the second choice of the Bulls in the free-agent market. Somewhere, in the warm, muggy air of Atlanta, Jaywalker can be heard from atop his well-worn soapbox: "REPLACEMENT VALUE!" "REPLACEMENT VALUE!" Admin capstone21 Posted July 18, 2003 Admin Report Share Posted July 18, 2003 Good for Ira...he has worked hard to come up from the CBA to earn a long term contract in the NBA. Its to bad for us that he is gone, he played an important role for us (not scoring but doing the other things) but I am glad that he managed to get on with someone. Traceman
I'd love to have Ira back but there is no way we should match a 4 or 5 year offer to him given our current circumstances. Ira is solid, but he's a role player and we don't need to have the salaries of role players taking up our capspace 2 years from now.
