Guest
http://www.ajc.com/hawks/content/sports/ha...03/28hawks.html Looks like he's concerned about rebuilding again.Maybe if he'd play hard consisantly and JT actually knew out to run an offense we would have made it... He says at the end:It depends on who we bring in NOW
Guest
It also wouldn't hurt him to look over that big bloated contract of his and see alot of the problem.
Lascar78
"I'm still optimistic," Abdur-Rahim said. "It's like chess. This is a move to set up a couple more moves. Sometimes you have to sacrifice one of your knights or your king to get something better. But it comes down to who we bring in. Right now." Ummm, maybe someone should tell reef what happens in chess when you sacrifice your king...
beav
It does depend on who we bring in now... If we settle for 3 cba scrubs then we're toast... If we don't go after a Carlisle or Fratello things won't be good...
Gray Mule
Last season, Hawks signed a P.G. to a 10 day contract. Fans were dissapointed when we didn't renew and he immediately signed with someone else. Neuble came to us the same way. Most of us are now dissapointed that he signed a big contract with the Cleveland team. What I am saying is, not all the good players out there are already under contract or are N.B.A. free agents looking for a contract right now. Usually, starters are already in the N.B.A. and we couldn't expect to find a jewel running around loose, looking for a contract. However, it takes 12 players to make up a full roster and some of those players just might be what we end up with for one or two positions. Remember, there are always some players who end up on the I.R. for long periods of time. Hawks have had more than their share of these. I expect it to happen again this season. beav
Yes but were people upset when we didn't resign mark strickland, corey benjamin , leon smith etc? For the most part finding a CBA gem is more unusual than finding one that just eats up space on the bench. My main point was that if we settle for 3 CBA guys it will be a given that probably two are scrubs... We are still at least one semi-major FA acquisition away from being a fieldable team at this point IMO...
dj_me
beav, When Stotts was making the decisions, this did not happen. He brought in Wilks and Newble. Wait, did he bring in Newble? Anyways, I believe that Stotts could pull another gem out of the rough (or something like that). My vote stands, KEEP STOTTS!
emeans
You may want to sacrifice a bishop or a knight, but if you sacrifice your King......YOU LOSE!!! Someone please tell Shareef this. It is obvious he doesn't play chess and the Hawks management don't either. The Hawks will trade a Queen for a Pawn without any thought. This is going to be a very very painful year in Atlanta. Playmaker0017
Emeans, I might trade a Queen for a Pond too... I mean you get a whole place with fish in it and stuff for a lousy piece of plastic or marble... I'd make that trade too. Of course, you might be referring to a PAWN. Sorry, I figured you needed some ribbing for giving Reef some grief and then messing up yourself. Play.
Guest
And you guys call me negitive?lol
emeans
I meant pawn not pond...nevertheless you know what I mean. The Hawks basically give talent away without proper compensation!!! I laughed at your analogy....It was good and I should inspect my posts before sending!!! Lesson learned!!
