I'm doing some trolling. I came across this interesting thread. I'm Shocked..... THEO has value.

It may be a good time for us to trade him considering all the things already going on.

I wonder...

Could Theo/JT get us Vince Carter/Bradley/Filler?

Theo has value because you have to have a center to compete. We should not trade Theo unless we get a young big man from a team trying to win now and can't wait for a young player to develop.

Finley is too old and these teams want to give us nothing for Theo.

I say we keep him!

That's exactly my feelings on the Theo trade talk.

Theo Ratliff should not be traded unless the Hawks get a young center in return.

Now, the job is to find the teams that may be close to the playoffs, need a center, and have a young guy they can't afford to develop.

He's about the same age as Theo....With our current

squad Theo should be traded.

We need a third scorer. JT/SAR aren't PP/Walker.We got

to have that third scorer and Theo would allow us to get

him.

Then we spend the next 6 years trying to find a center.

You didn't learn anything when the Hawks were in their post Tree Rollins/Moses Malone-pre Dikembe Mutombo era, did you?

It took them 6 years to find a credible replacement for Moses at center.

Here's the difference...

Patrick Ewing/Brad Daughtery/David Robinson/Hakeem/

Rik Smits aren't in the league anymore....Zo is old, and

Deke is also old.

The Jazz have made all their playoff appearances without

a good starting center.

Theo Ratliff is a Power Forward...He is not a center.

We'd be better off with JT/MF/Diaw/Reef/Nazr

The Jazz have also not won a championship without a good center.

It's a lot harder to win without a good center than it is to win without a superstar player.

And Theo is a center. That's the only position he's ever played, and he plays defense like a center.

JT and SAR can't win a title anyway.

Real centers aren't 6'10 and 230 pounds with

such a slim build.Theo is a PF playing center

just like Raef LaFrentz.

Theo also doesn't board and is a horrible offensive

player. The only thing he brings to the table is weak

side shot blocks. That doesn't really make him worthy.

He got smoked by Melmet Okur.LMAO.

I'm in agreement with ARR on this one...

Theo is not a legitimate C AND the day of the C is over. BTW, for history sake... When we had Lang, Laettner, Smith, Mookie. Our problem didn't come from C. It came from the fact that we didn't have a legit Third Scorer. You can recall the day after Moses all you want. The truth of the matter is that the day after NIQUE is what hurt us the most. Even with a valued C in Deke, the lack of a Scorer at the Sf position killed us. When Teams would play off of Ty Corbin and double down on Smitty and Mookie, there was nothing that Deke could do to help us win.

As a C, Theo doesn't score and rebound well enough to make us a legitimate Playoff team. It all starts at rebounding. Deke pulled down between 12-15 Boards per game while he was Here. In the same time, Theo can't break 8. That's the problem. How you gonna run uptempo if you can't get the defensive rebound? Those Puny 3.2 blocks for game May account for 2 possessions. However, the real key about a good C is how many boards can he grab.

If we can trade Theo for another Scorer, I think we can do better. I'm not against a Young C, but a scorer is neccessary.

Theo for Harpring, Collins comes to mind.
