Premium Member mrhonline Posted August 19, 2008 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 19, 2008 If we still have the MLE, why not tender it towards J.R.Smith? The Hawks spent almost half of their MLE on Evans (5.8 - 2.5), and it remains to be seen if Murray was also signed using part of the MLE... josh_pwns_newbs
I'd like JR Smith. Sure he has character issues, but look at the characters he was surrounded by. Melo and AI aint exactly model behavior (AI's tantrum in ATL last year among other antics, camerlos drunk driving and general rock star ego). I think surrounded my solid people like Joe, Al and company, he may have a chance to blossom. Unfortunately, we dont really need another guard. I think we need a big. WraithSentinel
I think everyone believes the Nuggets would have match any MLE offer for JR. Which might explain why no one has really shown any serious interest in him. I doubt Woodson would have played him anyways. I am not sure how committed he is to playing defense. Atlsportfanz
If we do have any of the MLE left, I would go after Macgloire or Ratliff rather than Smith. Smith is a greater talent but we have a lot of wing players and I feel we are still one big man shy. If Morris can step up and play well, then we might be okay but I have a feeling we'll only ever see Horford and ZaZa on the floor.
