  1. If we started Bibby and Crawford, you're looking at possibly the worst defensive backcourt in the history of the NBA. Neither one of them plays defense at all. Crawford hopefully will be Flip version 2.0. A great scorer off the bench and someone who can provide a spark when the first unit is dragging.
  2. If Woodson would develop a scheme that doesn't put Josh out at the 3 point line, it wouldn't matter. When he lets him drift out there instead of posting up or setting screens, I'd be taking that shot every time too.
  3. Could we trade Chilz rights and Speedy to the Clippers for either Camby or Caman? They are going to be so overloaded in the front court (assuming they draft Griffin) that they are going to have to move somebody. Camby could be had for probably a 2nd round pick again (that what it took to pry him from Denver) if we could get under the cap.
  4. Why would New Orleans move him? Because they gotta move somebody to clear some cap space. They had him traded to OKC for expirings in Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox. In the deal I proposed, they could renounce Chill's rights to get under the luxury tax and they would drop speedy's contract at the end of the season. They took garbage one time. Why not another? We're not going to be able to sign a superstar so we better try to create some ways to make ourselves deeper.
  5. I just put it in another thread but I will say it again here since people seem to be reading this one: Get Tyson Chandler! He's only 26, 27 and is a true C. Send Chills rights and Speedy's expiring contract for him. New Orleans needs to dump salary to get under the luxury tax and there's no way anyone is going to take on Peja's large contract so Chandler is the only piece they have to move. Chandler could be an upgrade over ZaZa with his rebounding and shotblocking ability and could start if needed.
  6. Personally, I would be picking up the phone to the Hornets and seeing if they were still considering moving Tyson Chandler. Chandler for the rights to Chills and Speedy's expiring contract. We all know they were taking less than nothing for him 3 months ago. He could be our first big off the bench or could start and either Josh or Al could man the 4 spot. We lose nothing of value while gaining valuable depth especially if ZaZa signs on elsewhere.
  7. I agree with everything everybody else has said. It's nice to have Marvin back even if it is in a limited role. It at the very least gives us more fouls to use on Wade since we have another perimeter player. I really enjoyed hearing Josh and Joe talk about how much they wanted home court and wanted to play for us the fans. Of course, I was peeved when Kenny Smith took our desire to have home court as a knock that we were scared to play on the road :angry22:
  8. Chris Broussard on NBA Fastbreak a couple nights ago was talking about all the upcoming FA's and was saying that in large part due to the poor economy and the fact that the league salary cap is actually going to drop from 62 to 59 million that Bibby would probably not be able to get much more than the mid-level exemption. He also said that Marvin as a RFA is probably going to see the same treatment that Josh got and will probably have to accept a qualifying offer.
  9. I only have two faults in Josh's game. 1. Free throw shooting. You simply can't be a 50% shooter. Otherwise, you're even more limited in your offensive effectiveness. Bend your knees a little, put the ball in front of your head so you can actually watch the ball as it leaves your hands instead of shooting it from behind your ear. 2. Quit whining every time you don't get a call. On rare occassions, yeah make your point. But don't leave your teammates out to dry because you won't get back on the other end of the court.
  10. Yeah, both teams without their starting SF. Can we keep Terry and Dirk in check? Those are the big two question marks.
  11. A healthy Bynum paired with Gasol has to be #1. Those two would destroy Horford and Josh down low both offensively and defensively. The only chance our two would have would be in fast break situations. They could beat them up and down the court but in a half court game, they wouldn't have much of a chance.
  12. I think everyone has kinda touched on it but Joe just hit a stretch of bad games. It happens occasionally. As I recall, his calf's were also bothering him. I know for several games he started wearing those sleeves on his legs. That certainly would have hurt his lift on his jumper and his ability to take anybody off the dribble. He seems to have regained his stride and hopefully it continues the rest of the way. The last week or so he's been playing not just at an All-Star level but at an MVP one.
  13. Dirk makes almost twice as much as Josh does. We'd have to throw in a lot more or keep a lot of our cleared cap space open (i.e. no Bibby, Marvin, or ZaZa).
  14. The one that truly bugged me was when Josh went straight up with Lebron at the rim (Lebron iniates contact) and Josh gets called for the foul. And Josh, rightfully so, flipped out. The lady from ESPN kept trying to say it was a foul but I never saw any contact that Lebron didn't start.
  15. I could actually see us signing Cato June before Brooks. June has been playing out of position while in Tampa because of Brooks. I think he would be a great WLB and he is only 29 so he has 2-3 good years left in him.
  16. I just don't like the idea of using 1st round dollars on a position that isn't featured very much in Mularkey's schemes. As an OC, I can't recall him ever using the TE as a legit weapon. I would rather us use our first round pick on either lines or secondary. My biggest hope is that we trade back and pick up a couple of extra picks. Also, our draft needs will probably change a lot after FA comes. (If you remember last year, there was some talk about taking McFadden but that changed as soon as we signed Turner). So a lot can change in the next couple of weeks.
  17. I really think that he is the one guy out there that could be had. His contract is pretty big and long though. 4 more years at roughly 9 million per. But it would allow us to go big with Kaman and Al when we need to or give Al a breather or come in for Josh when he's in foul trouble or struggling. If the Clippers can get shorter contracts in return, I think they would move him.
  18. My only real complaint with Josh is his FT%. 58% is horrible. At least give me 70%. He's got the third worst FT% behind Howard and Shaq and there's no way he should be in their company. Try bending your knees a little bit and not just flinging it up there with your arms.
  19. Does Rick Fox really deserve to be called "Lakers Legend"??
  20. You have to remember that Roy and Amare's contract would expire after 2010 so Portland just can't look to the future forever. If one of them bolts, that could set the franchise back a lot.
  21. If I'm Phoenix, I jump all over that deal. You get a young pg to sit behind Nash for a year, a quality 4 to fill in for Amare, and a huge expiring contract in LaFrenz. And Portland becomes a legit championship contender. Roy and Amare as their superstars with Oden focusing on the defensive end.
  22. Kinda hard not to wonder how good this team would be if we had drafted Stuckey like Hollinger also says.
  23. It's kinda sad that Jose Canseco comes out looking like the really classy one in all of this. Everything he has said or written about it has been just about spot on.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can Josh block any trade this year because he was signed to a matched offer sheet. So if it were to be done, it would have to be this offseason.
