DrReality
He is big and wants to come to the NBA: Yiannis Bouroussis- Bouroussis remains one of the most productive big men in European basketball on a per-minute basis, he’s averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds per-40 pace adjusted on 59% shooting from the field. He’s not particularly athletic, but has a massive frame which he uses to draw fouls at a terrific rate, and is a threat to score with his back to the basket, shooting jumpers from outside, or finishing pick and roll plays in the lane thanks to his excellent hands. He’s also an excellent rebounder, particularly on the offensive end. Talk out of Greece is that he’s interested in exploring his NBA options this summer, and as we’ve written on a few occasions in the past, he could be a very interesting free agent target for certain teams. We’ll be taking an in-depth look at him this weekend, and may try to pick his brain as well. bronnt
We might start by taking a look at David Andersen, who we actually drafted... Don't know if he's ever going to be a part of the plan though. Kind of a waste since he looks pretty good.
BigDirty
So is anybody watching the Euroleague semi-finals? 8 minutes left in the Moscow-Barcelona game and Andersen has 22 points. Later tonight Childress & Bouroussis will battle Jasikevicious & Pekovic. Fun fact: Coins & keys are not allowed into the Berlin O2 World today, most likely because they fear the greek fans. BigDirty
Halftime Olympiacos 41 Panathinaikos 43. Bourousis seems a little too fat and unathletic for the NBA. Pekovic & Batiste pretty much destroyed the Olympiacos big men so far, too bad that Pekovic has no interest in playing in the NBA. :( Childress is kinda invisible and his team seemed to play better during the streches he was on the bench. Hmm do I switch the channel to [rec] now or watch the 2nd half? Decisions, decisions...
DrReality
Good to hear Andersen played well. You gotta think he would want to see how he'd stack up against the NBA guys. Bring him over. Besides, the Atl ladies are prettier than the Russians.
Kimsey
Andersen has an out clause in his contract so it's on the owners and Sund to make it happen. Marcin Gortat of Orlando http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2758

Andersen plays for Barcelona now, not Moscow. ;) 2nd game is really good right now, Childress Tip Jam, Batiste answers with an alley-oop, Teodesic three, Jesikevicius anwers with a three of his own, hope this continues. BigDirty
Panathinaikos won 84-82, Bourousis had the chance to tie the game with 4 seconds left, but he missed after a nice spin-move and then Childress missed the tip-in. Childress had a few good plays in the 3rd, but then he disappeared again, he finished with 11 points, he didn't make a single jumper. Bourousis didn't show much, but he does seem to get a lot of rebounds because of his size. Pekovic & Batiste combined for 39 points in 40 minutes. Premium Member mrhonline Posted May 1, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 1, 2009 David Andersen dumped 22 points in 3 quarters on CSKA Moscow, but reportedly they didn't go to him much at all in the 4th quarter, and his team lost. Childress finished with 11/4 with 3 steals, but his team lost to Panathinakos. Apparently he had two tips at the end of the game to try to tie things up, but both missed... Olympiacos will face Regal FC Barcelona on Sunday at 11am. (I believe that time is right - 1700 CET).
Premium Member mrhonline Posted May 1, 2009 Premium Member Report Share Posted May 1, 2009 Personally, I think Childress owes it to Olympiacos to come back next year. Andersen could help this Hawks team, and should be brought over IMHO.
