Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith doesn't have a lot of tradeable assets he can move to improve the team. One player that he will have to consider trading is starting point guard Jameer Nelson.

Mike Bianch of the Orlando Sentinel writes: "Sadly, trading Jameer may be the Magic's best option for trying to improve a badly unbalanced roster. ... This has nothing to do with him not being a valuable member of the Magic and everything to do with the fact that he is one of the few Magic players who might garner some interest from other teams. Let's face it, the Magic do not need three point guards making as much money as Nelson, Gilbert Arenas and Chris Duhon are making.

Nelson is on the books for $8.6 million in 2011-12 and 2012-13, which is a player option.

I always thought he was kinda overrated. He is undersized, doesn't defend and really not that great a passer.

He has a decent jump shot and is a really good penetrator. Orlando needs a true point guard who can run teh offense well. They don't have that with Jameer or Gil Areanas.
