Official Falcons Preseason/Training Camp Thread

I know, a little late, but I wanted to make a thread to talk about the Falcons preseason/training camp.

 

My points:

 

• I love our group of running backs - S-Jax, Jacquizz, Smith, and Freeman.
• Jake Matthews looks like he will be our RT for the next decade.  Absolute stud and I love that him in Biermann got into that scuffle.  Everybody fighting for jobs.
• I was impressed with Smallwood, Shembo, and McFadden.  McFadden needs to be a special teamer for us.
• Matt Ryan's first drive vs. the Dolphins - 7/7 and the drive ended with a TD.  Love seeing that.
• Run defense looks improved.

 

Preseason schedule:

 

1 - Friday, August 8th - vs. Miami Dolphins - F: W - 16 - 10

2 - Saturday, August 16th - @ Houston Texans

3 - Saturday, August 23rd - vs. Tennessee Titans

4 - Thursday, August 28th - @ Jacksonville Jaguars

 

All AFC teams and three are AFC South.

Not much of a challenge given the teams we play. Both lines need to make significant strides every game

I guess I'll have to get used to the Falcons not having a true lead back, with Jackson ailing. As long as they still have a good RB by committee and good production out of Jax, Quizz and Antone.

Freeman has all the makings of being a lead back. A little bigger than Quizz with better quickness and speed. Looking coward to him taking over that role next year with another draft pick next year
