I like him more than others do but I do think he will need time to develop. Maybe a year in the G-League and than a bottom of the rotation player in year two. Year three, he should be effective.

This guy is further along than that.  He can shoot in the league right now.  He's smart and has a high BBIQ.  He's a definite rotation guy by year two if not a starter.

Being able to shoot in the NBA is NO WHERE near as easy as it is in college especially with his lack of length. He will take time. All of these shooters do. The NBA space is minimal compared to college for a shooter. They all have to adjust.

His release is quick.  He has proven NBA range when you watch him shoot at the college level.  He's an 85+% free throw shooter.

He can have a quick release, there is more to being a great NBA shooter than just that. Ask John Jenkins.

This guy excels as a spot up catch and shoot jumper shooter.  He excels with the pull up jumper.  He excels in the pick and roll.  He can also hurt people who try to closeout on his jumper by being able to dribble with both hands.  He can get into the lane and has great body control to pump fake and contort to create space for his shot.

He's one of my three favorites for the Hawks right now along with Caleb Swanigan and John Collins.  If the Hawks can come out with Kennard and Swanigan at 19 and 31, then it will be hard to beat that draft.
