Moderators macdaddy Posted February 9, 2004 Moderators Report Share Posted February 9, 2004 I'm the eternal optimist and always want the Hawks to win, BUT for those of us interested in seeing some Hawks trades in the next week the Hawks really need to lose tonight. I know GMs will always claim they don't put much stock in a single game but think about it. After the Rockets game collapse if the Hawks come out and beat a big time opponent heading into a week off then with the Hawks not playing and losing you may get the sense that they are decent and can be fixed in the offseason. Hell, they've been playing ok the last few weeks. But, if they get trounced that memory will eat at Knight and the 'owners' during the break. Esp. since we have no players participating in the All Stars.
Weez
or would it raise their stock(s)? I mean, mgt. should know by now what this team is, that the mix obviously isn't right, etc.
Traceman
of players we might be looking to trade. Particularly if the player(s) we are looking to trade perform well in the win. It certainly won't help us move Theo if he has a bad game and we get beat by 20. But if Theo comes out and puts up a double double while getting 3 or 4 blocks, it might make some team in the WC think that he could be the missing piece to any playoff dreams they might have. Same goes for JT, Nazr, Reef or anyone else we might wish to trade.
Gray Mule
If that's the case, our stock just went up! Great win for the Hawks tonight. 1st time in a long time that Hawks have won one from these guys.
