skyhawk
I thought this was pretty interesting: When you root for a bad team, you get to scrutinize the other teams at the bottom of the standings, and I've decided that I really like the Hawks, despite their lousy fans and ownership hassles. The players on the court play hard and seem to play unselfishly, too, which is impressive given that many of them will be free agents in a few days. The Hawks really laid the wood on New Jersey tonight. Sura's triple-double wasn't even the most impressive line for them--Boris Diaw put up 10 assists in 26 minutes, without a single shot attempt. (He wound up with one point on a free throw.) It would surprise me if the Hawks don't finish the season by beating Boston for the second time in a week--not that it will help the Suns, who will probably end on a four-game winning streak and wind up with the 7th or 8th overall pick. Still, it's the thought that counts, right? Anyway, I hope they wind up getting a lucky bounce and pick up Dwight Howard as a reward for their players' efforts. It would be nice to see Terry Stotts get another year as the dean of EC coaches, and if they could hold onto their chemistry from this year by re-signing Stephen Jackson, Bobby Sura and maybe Przybilla, that would be even better
Gray Mule
Have to agree with the poster. Lately, Hawks haven't been bad at all. In fact, they have been good. Hawks may have slipped in the draft. Still, they have two first round picks. Of all the players who will be in the draft, we get two of the best. Not a bad position to be in. Then, there are the three picks in the second round. If we wish to move up, trading two or three picks for one is a possibility. Our first and two seconds to move up to get the desired player? We might do that. Top priority right now should be to re-sign our own free agents that we want to keep. Then, we will know more about who we really need to draft. In the game of "Musical Chairs" which we see played, especially last season, Terry Stotts deserves a chance to be a part of this building process. I hope we keep him. Nice to be noticed by someone other than a "Die Hard" Hawk's fan. When you're on the bottom, the only direction is "up." Hopefully, with our draft picks, our core we have now, free agency and new ownership, "Up" may finally be a possibility. I hope so. Go Hawks! Packfill
Graymule - you get my vote as the most positive voice in this forum. Since there are so many who focus on the negatives, I just wanted to say thanks.
