Premium Member Wretch Posted June 15, 2004 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 15, 2004 I think LA can pull a win out tonight. I think the chances are more than good. These guys are former champions, they still have two of the most dominant players in the game, and they still have a decent supporting cast. Plus, they've got Phil working on a gameplan. Question is, more important than if the Lakers win tonight, what happens if this thing goes back to LA? Pistons in 6? If not, do you take the Pistons in game 7 in LA? Pistons need to close this thing out tonight or end it at Game 6 in LA. MAN THIS SH#T IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! This is the way that the Finals should play out EVERY year. I'm just not ready to see it end yet. I want to see a game 6 or could you imagine the magnitude of a game 7? When is the last time a finals had this kind of story? Weez
I feel ya man. I almost (shudder) want the Lakers to win, win the next one, and then lose a game seven. at the very least, see it go back to LA to end...complete with "interview with the stars," hosted by Jim Gray, in the stands and VIP areas, wondering what they thought about "their" team now. Should we look for the bandwagon to pack up and head to Detroit? First person up...Nicholson. just for the hilarity, brutality, and honesty of the reaction. Then maybe Denzel, who's quickly donned his "NYY" hat...and so forth and so on.
Plainview1981
I think we have seen the best Shaq can do and that's a d@mn lot. But it's going to take role players producing before the Lakers can win. Didn't Shaq have like 34 points and Kobe 26 in game 1 and they STILL lost by 12. I have my doubt Payton is going to give anything more than 7 points and there just isn't anybody else with Malone being injuried. Fox is useless...Fisher isn't any good anymore and Slava is going to get destroyed by Sheed when he gets into the game. But I could see the Lakers winning this one. If they do win the series goes back in LA favor despite them down 1 game. The next two games will be in LA's court and all they have to do is defend homecourt and they are the champs.
