Should Isiah trade for Vince Carter?

There is talk of a Carter for Marbury swap between Toronto and NYC at present amongst the press. Obviously under this scenario Carter would play Small Forward with Houston at SG and Crawford at PG.

Although this would be an exciting move, I think it may not be a good one for NYC. Crawford is not really a PG and whilst Stephon is a shooting point guard he still averaged 6.5 assists per game. It is so important to have a good PG that to give up Marbury would be a mistake, especially when there are already a number of wing men on the team (even if they are not as good as Carter).

I think it may be more likely that Carter ends up in Seattle for Ray Allen, but I think that Isiah should resist the temptation to bring in Vince.

Anyone agree?

Carter isint going anywhere...

NY wishes they can get carter for just MARBURY straight up.

Carter = TORONTO. toronto wants to win, either in the "W" column or in sales. w/ CARTER, they can get decent number of wins and can potential go to the playoffs every year (assuming hes not injured and others step up or management makes roster changes) as well as make lotta $$$ in revenue.

w/ MARBURY, they may/maynot win. but either way, he wont create the fanbase and $$$ like Carter.

Carter for RAY ALLEN is a joke as well... thats basically trading CARTER for a rental. if Ray Allen was signed for a while (toronto isint exactly a FREE AGENCY HEAVEN) and packaged w/ a potential star/rookie, then it might work.

talent wise, allen for carter is FAIR. but its not gonna happen.

the closest trade scenario that i can see is one for IVERSON.

Toronto's ready to part ways with Carter if they can find a resonable trade for him, largely because he's stated that he's tired of being there.

Ask urself this...who can they get that's better than Marbury? most guys better than him...teams won't trade. Sure, Babcock's said he's not interested in trading him...but it wouldn't be a bad deal...

reunite the two tech stars (both with one year there, not that this means that much though, really) in Marbury and Bosh.

That lineup would be ok with NY...might even work well. it's be athletic (at the 3/1) spots, Carter wouldn't ahve to shoulder the load as much (Crawford has the mentality edge, Carter the skills...if Carter had Crawford's mentality...he'd be what we all want him to be).

I thin NY would bite on the possibility.

Marbury's and Iverson's contracts scare me. (Iverson for injury risk, Marbury for whining risk)

The only way I can see Toronto trading Carter is for a young star and salary relief. But that might be wishful thinking.
