Gray Mule
The closer the time gets, the slower the clock seems to run -- Wasn't so bad there for a while, lots of things going on -- But now we wait -- And wait ----- And ----- Hawks "On Paper" team looks great - especially to the impatient fans of Atlanta. We want to see what the team really looks like on the floor, not just "On Paper!" As always, health is our main concern - Can we stay injury free for the season? This, more than any other thing, has been the reason for our poor seasons just past. Adding two all stars to a team that was capable of playing some pretty good ball in the second half of last season when we got some of our veteran players back from I.R. makes our mouth water. Some say we got Dickau at a bargain and he is what Hawks need to back up our "STARTING POINT GUARD" Jason Terry. Others say he is not very good and that too many other teams passed him up since we got him as the very last 1st round pick. He looked pretty good in summer league, but, that WAS only summer league. Will "Big Dawg" fit in with the present roster or have we acquired "Another Ryder?" Most of the fans that I have read have posted good stuff about "Big Dawg" and believe in him. I hope they are right. Some have declared that they will now become Hawks fans!! DerMarr would be a senior this year if he had stayed in school! "Give him three full seasons to mature" and then we will know for sure what we have. Remember, he has had only two seasons here, so he has another full season to grow, according to the Hawks plans for him when he was drafted. Theo -- All star Big Dawg -- All star SAR -- All star J.T. -- Starting point guard {Got that, everyone!} DerMarr - - Still growing into the player he will become. Chillzatl -- Let's get ready to rumble! I'm ready!! Enough talk and speculation already !! Get the show on the road! But, alas, we must bide our time until the calander says that the season can begin. Until then ------------- Gray Mule
