  1. Quote: Quote: Well, I know I read that BK was present when Oklahoma City Hornets worked out Shelden. It was suggested that they might take him because the owner at the time was considering a move to Oklahoma...and Shelden would be hometown and a good BU for West. The other thing is that it was rumored that we worked out Shelden when Duke played LSU in the Ga Dome. I have no proof of this.. it was just a rumor that happened at the time when Duke played LSU... Diesel, you'd believe any rumor if your [censored] floated on it. BK never worked out Shelden. Period. The promise made was boneheaded regardless. You just can't get over calling SW the next Karl Malone. W The promise was made after Orlando's predraft camp. BK shut his draft down after that and never brought Shelden in... The only guys of note he worked out were Rondo, Marcus Williams, and Foye. If he would have taken the time to actually conduct a draft like any professional GM would have, he might have discovered he sucked. Like 75% of this site and the crowd at Philips who booed his ass off. BK is just a dumbass but the ASG keep paying him for his detrimental services.
  2. And that is a killer flaw and obvious. Why did we draft this guy with the 6th pick?
  3. I was thinking about that earlier...PJ has buried West and he would immediately be our best PG. How bad is it when the Sonics 3rd PG is better than what we have?
  4. Quote: Quote: You are 100% correct Walt. I will not call BK on picking Shelden over Roy for these reasons. 1. Roy Snubbed us twice for a workout. I wouldn't want a repeat of Steve Francis being picked by Vancouver.. Remember that? 2. Roy has an injury History. 3. Roy duplicates what we already had in JJ. Neither can play PG effectively. Roy would be the best pick BK has ever made for the Hawks. Forgot that one. Please. Roy is more Pg than anyone we've got and while he is also a 2-guard, alongside JJ we would have (say it with me now) THE BEST BACKCOURT IN BASKETBALL! UN-stoppable! Maybe I missed it but SW has an injury history and before his shoulder injury wasn't worth a d@mn either. Hmm. Diesel, Roy won the ROOKIE OF THE YEAR and SW won the BUST OF THE DECADE awards respectively. Please get your head out of your ass. W W He can't remove his head from his ass. It was surgically attached.
  5. Quote: Quote: He plays starter's minutes, plays in crunch time, and his versatility is a perfect fit for their system (such as it is). Obviously this guy doesn't watch Hawks games. Childress is one of the least versitile wing players in the league. he can't defend and he is known for his late game blunders. His lack of passing ability was on full display last night. He couldn't make an entry pass without getting it swatted away and tried to throw an alley oop to Smith when Smith had no chance of getting near the basket. When you look at Childress 4 years into his career, you have to ask "What in the hell was BK thinking"? he is so limited and his limitations are easy to see... BK never asked himself about that horrendous release point? Well, I guess its because he's long and lean. I'm sick of the whole thing. We have Woody and Bk, two absolute jokes.
  6. Quote: Quote: You can spin all you want, but sooner or later you'll have to understand that we're 4-11 (.266) over the last 15. That is not characteristic of a team that plays .500 ball. You know what's characteristic of a .500 ball club? As many wins as losses. Not 18-23. Over half of the NBA teams have a .500 record and we are not one of them. We would be 12th in the West. This is not inconsistency. It is consistent bad play since late December. And we were 11 - 5 before this stretch, with the Miami game now pending. We've been on the road for 9 of our last 15 games. We've only beat Seattle. We've let some games get away, no doubt on that. But as I've said, most .500 teams are very inconsistent, both good and bad. We've lost 5 games to teams who are in the top 12 in the league during that stretch ( Dallas, Cleveland, Denver, and Portland twice ) We've lost to a Milwaukee team who, ironically, is one of the best home teams in the league. The games vs Indy, Washington, and Jersey are games we have to win though. Those are the teams we have to beat. The question for this team, is if they can start consistently beating the teams on their level and below, on the road . . . and if they can beat a few good teams at home, while also beating those average and bad teams. People WANT this team to quit on Woody, but they've done anything but quit. The players have a lot more pride than that. They have some games in which they look horrible from the start. But overall, they will still play hard regardless. The blowout last night might be a blessing in disguise, because we should at least be able to give the effort on the 2nd night of a back to back. People want this team to roll over and die, to force ownership to make changes. Don't hold your breath folks. And don't be shocked if they win 3 or 4 of their next 5. It's how schizophrenic, .500 teams play. I'm still trying to figure out why you stay on your Woody Island? The excuses in your post flow like a long river. The Hawks are what they are at this point. They are 18-23. That was a quit job last night. Period. You were the same guy who said they were going to win 3 straight awhile back. How'd that turn out? You keep going off on limbs and the Hawks keep sawing them off.
  7. Chill is what he is at this point. And that rumor was just a REALGM poster. I doubt the Magic would throw in a #1 with Dooling...although I'm all over it. Childress has stopped progressing.
  8. We did not work out Shelden Williams. BK saw him at the pre-draft camp in Orlando in late May and the infamous "promise" was made 2 days after Orlando. There were scrimmages and testing done of all the prospects including Shelden. But he never worked out for just the Hawks. The "promise" was one of the worst professional moves that I have ever seen. Who gives a shyte if Roy didn't work out for us? You draft who you want to draft. Roy would have loved ATL except for playing that slow down style of Woodheads. In fact, Woodhead probably wouldnt even be starting Roy. I'm not joking, Woody can ruin players.
  9. Actually, I think we will throw in the towel and lose. I think this team is showing signs of tuning out the coach. Sorry but all is not well in Hawkland. Let's hope for a few more losses to give ourselves a chance to get the coach fired at long last.
  10. Anyone who questions Marvin's work ethic at this point is clueless. Does he have holes and things to continue to work on? Yes. But he has CLEARLY surpassed Childress. Childress looks tapped out on the upside. Marvin will likely get better next year. He has shown improvement every year and at age 21 he is far from finished developing. This same stupid conversation is raised by the same knucklehead day after day. It's old, tired, wore out. Marvin has had the best road trip of any Hawk and looked like the only one who came to play last night. I suspect he's improving as we speak because the last 8 games he is averaging 20ppg. D-Bag needs to STFU...come up with a new topic. Show a little brains for a change.
  11. Seriously, we NEED to lose to the Clippers and I will be rooting strongly for LA. Because if we win 2 on this trip then IDIOT Gearon will say we had a great trip. The imbecile's that are the Gearon's are killing basketball in this town. This is more important than the tanking from last season. We MUST keep losing, whatever it takes to finally kill Woodson off as coach. If he is extended in his contract he will be here a MINIMUM of 3 more years. I would probably bail until he's gone. He is so bad it isn't worth it. WHY do the ASG keep this guy as our coach?
  12. Quote: do we need to overanalyze and criticize EVERY move each of our owners makes? Until they rid our team of the incompetance that comes from BK and Woody? Yes...let's criticize them at every turn. Giving nosebleed seats at a discount pales in comparison to the mess that is the Hawks. Keep your damn seats and fire Woodson!!!
  13. No. Kidd wants to win a ring and he needs it quick. He would [censored], whine, and develop a series of migraines to avoid playing for the Hawks. He also would crap his pants at how bad Woodson is...
  14. Chill looks worse to me this year. he's an OK player but he is what he is... He used to have more breakout games, now not so much. Chill is just severely limited with that low release point. I will never understand why Billy drafted him with that low release. Thats a killer. Although I don't understand how BK does most of what he does.
  15. Quote: Quote: Aren't you the guy who was getting onto me about negativity? Then in the next breath you start a thread asking how we fire Woody? Thats all I'm advocating. And because the ASG can actually fire Woody I'm on their ass as well. So, its OK when you do it? LMAO. I'm not being negative. I am being realistic. And I dont think firing Woody would be a "negative".. do you If better owners bought the Hawks is that negative? If the ASG fired BK is that negative? These topics are what has gotten me called negative. I think most reasonable fans would be thrilled if the ASG, Woody, and BK were all escorted out of town.
  16. I read yesterday where the CAVS were trying to pry Jarrett Jack loose from PTL. Jack would have been ideal in a trade for the 11th pick but we chose another building project with Law when we needed help now. The astute GM's know when another teams players are showing signs of busting out. Guys like Jack and Calderon were obviously going to improve because they had shown at least some promise but their stocks had not gone up. Warren Buffett made 40Billion buying assets when they were under valued and the best GM's do the same thing. There are deals out there for guys who have upside but haven't reached it, like Calderon last year. Ridnour and Watson are NOT in this category. Both have been around long enough that you know what they are and what they bring to the table. BK needs to find the undervalued player who is on the cusp on being a lot better. I have no faith at all in Billy Knight in any area. He is more likely to acquire the asset fully valued and overpay...like a Gasol. Good thread Doc, there is gold in the hills but our GM isn't likely to find it.
  17. Aren't you the guy who was getting onto me about negativity? Then in the next breath you start a thread asking how we fire Woody? Thats all I'm advocating. And because the ASG can actually fire Woody I'm on their ass as well. So, its OK when you do it? LMAO.
  18. ATL Baller, honestly there are much better deals on tickets than the discounted ones. If you want the discounted seats then grab them. In this market the supply far outweighs the demand which leads to some great deals. Some on this site act like were the Spurs or the Suns where seats are hard to come by...in those cases a discount would be a great thing and a nice gesture. It's like at the end of the Falcons season, I had several people asking me if I wanted tickets...for free. I said no thanks. Now, if Blank had reached out with a discount then it would have been silly. Thats why season tickets make no sense to the Hawks right now... I can literally attend EVERY game, all 41, in BETTER seats than I had...for less than half the price! I may have different seats every game but who cares? I am at a loss for words about these discounted seats. Its not a real fabulous deal at this point because the arena is half empty. Bruce is at least a nice guy. But he's more on the hockey side. I get the impression Bruce would have fired Woody awhile back but the Gearons love Woody. Therein lies the problem.
  19. Thanks Dad. Your wisdom, along with Coachx, is just touching. Your a real Zen master. FYI, Coachx attacked me first. Second, I'm hardly always negative. The only time I'm negative is on BK, Woodson, and the lame ASG. Thats it. If that bothers you then move along. I really don't care what you think. The Hawks are a poorly run outfit, and I call it as I see it. Levenson is not doing you or anybody any favors with these discounted seats. These seats have no chance of being sold. If you really want a great seat call a broker and you can get a huge discount for a great seat, not some nosebleed deal. There is NO DEMAND for Hawks tickets in this market. My seats were $100 a piece face value and a broker wouldnt give me more than $25...so, for $50 you can sit right behind the bench anytime you want. Levenson is trying to get you to buy seats for anything just to get some revenue and hope you buy a few beers while your at the game. This isn't a grand gesture on his part, its smart business. My point is that Levenson needs to fix the damn team. There aren't many people who think Woodson can coach a lick. Or that BK can draft. Keep your f'ing tickets and have some balls, fix the squad, get us a real basketball coach. Jack, if that offends you...so be it. I really don't care.
  20. Coachx, try bringing something to the table other than than weak ass rose colored "analysis". The Hawks have sucked for years, and continue to underachieve their talent level. Thats not OK with me or with real basketball fans. I had season tickets for 22 years with a vested interest in the team and am sick of underachievement and poor performance. Your an apologist of the worst kind. Plus, what you know about basketball would fit in a thimble. I know because I suffer with some of your worthless posts. You know the game at about a 3rd grade level. Thats why I rarely read your crap, because it comes from nonsense and ignorance 99% of the time. If you want to support the ignorance and garbage that is the ASG you go for it. There are a lot of ill informed people that buy lousy cars every day. They love people like you.
  21. I still think we will miss the playoffs because this team has little chance with Woodson. The cream always rises...and in our case, the rock always sinks. Give Woody a full season and he'll show you how you miss the playoffs in the East.
  22. Quote: Maybe I am not following your post, but it seems like you just showed why Woody doesn't have a clue. He doesn't trust anyone on the team except JJ. Second, he doesn't set the plays up correctly (as you point out). Thus, your post seems to go against your previous defense of Woodson. Again, maybe I am mis-reading. For me, though, the Legler article shows exactly what I have said several times. You have to set up other guys to win the game. In the military you have three plans A, B, and the gone to hell plan. The GTH plan is usually the one that gets used as all other plans fail when in contact with the enemy. Woodson really needs to understand that philosophy. I think what Ncyde is saying is that because other teams do it wrong and go one on one, that lets Woodson off the hook. Woody just is following the trends. Thats the old "everybody is doing it" argument. JJ is hardly in the same class as Kobe or Wade or {insert superstar]. JJ is a very poor man's superstar but Woody doesnt get that part. We would be much better making them play 5 guys, something totally above Woodys head.
  23. Quote: If we make the playoffs I will be very happy. I definitely think this team will get a lot better and just making the playoffs will give this team a lot of confidence. Bottom line, I'm sick of having the longest playoff drought in the NBA. The only downside is Woodson/BK may get some undue praise. Making the playoffs as a still crappy team is the absolute worst thing that could happen to this team...if that means Woody and Knight signing extensions. We would be much better off missing the playoffs if we can rid ourselves of the Woodson/BK curse. No first round sweep is worth getting Woody back.
  24. The guys won't even consider that they have a lousy methodology but they wonder why people don't come to the games? These guys are totally clueless. They would rather give you a discount knowing the seat has no chance of selling. Or, they can even give if free and hope you eat the lousy food and drink a few beers. I say boycott all things ASG and Hawks until these asswypes make some real changes!
  25. It's true in a general sense that you need to rebound before you can run. It also helps to have an up tempo PG. But, you can play a faster pace that would certainly help this team. I've said this 1000 times...Woody is a control freak who likes to slug it out in the half court. He gives lip service to running but he isn't committed. Running is not in his DNA and yet he sucks in the half court. Now, he's publicly saying we don't rebound well enough to run. Thats his out, his escape clause. I've watched this guy for 4 years and I said all along Woody wouldn't run. And he is now saying it.
