I emailed Bruce several times within about an 18 month period and he responded with about the same rhetoric. Bruce has been singing the same tune so long his words are just hollow. If this were the first time I'd heard his BS I might believe it. Bruce was good in his business but he's lousy in the basketball business. His teams record speaks far louder than his empty words. He is certainly NOT TRYING at all. How can you sit back and watch this crap year after year and have the gall to say you are trying? No, trying involves action. Not sitting on your ass watching a lousy coach and GM screw up the team year after year. The ASG's slogan should be Same Shyte, Different Year...

Belkin may not be a nice guy but he could not be worse in the win and loss department. I guarantee you anybody would have cut Woody a long time ago...and Knight with him.

The players are lifeless, and there is not accountability at all in this franchise from what I can see. I can't watch teams like LA win titles and then rebuild their team into contenders again before the Hawks can even become a decent team. Lastly, if you can't afford this team, maybe you should consider selling or giving the team up to somebody that can give the rest of the Hawk fans some hope because they deserve better than this. Signed, Unhappy Hawks fan I like it. The ONLY good news about Gasol is that we probably could not afford both Smith AND Gasol...I would view Gasol as a big stumbling block to re-signing Smoove. Remember, deep pockets these owners do not have.

Essentially the owners cannot afford the team. They all pooled together because none of them had the means alone. And, their incompetant on top of broke...which is why Knight and Woodson still have a job. If Woodson gets an extension it will be because he works cheap. Face it, Hawks fans are screwed.

Kidd is not coming here...Kidd is a whiny, bitchy little brat who wants a ring before he quits. We aren't getting a ring anytime soon. Kidd will be traded to a team that has a chance this year to win it all. He's proven in every city that when he doesnt get what he wants he pouts and makes an asshale out of himself, just like his little headache earlier. He's not coming because he would be miserable playing for a team just like his own Nets...only the coach here is 10X worse. Give up the Kidd dream, it ain't happening.

Putting Josh Smith in a deal for a 35 year old PG is about as stupid an idea as I have ever heard on this site. And I have read some of Diesel's trade threads.

Dear ASG, Any ownership group that has kept Mike Woodson on this long has no business being involved in professional sports ownership. How can anyone watch this "offense" and not understand that we have a problem? Of course, the real problem is that none of you know what your watching. Billy Knight has passed on some great All-Star picks as well. Chris Paul? Deng/Iggy? Brandon Roy? And he still retains full GM privileges. Shelden Williams has scored 2 field goals in the month of January! I agree that knee jerk reactions are usually a poor course of action. But, we are 4 years into the Mike Woodson/Billy Knight train wreck and there is still no end in sight. Thanks for ruining basketball in Atlanta and truly taking us to new and horrible lows. You guys truly define the word incompetance.

Not a bad idea...but, like you said, is Gearon the one making basketball decisions? Gearon is Woody and BK's biggest fan. But it couldnt hurt.

At this point the Hawks need a new voice. They have tuned Woodson out and lets face it...this guy has received more than his share of opportunities to prove that he can get the job done. It hasn't happened and its time to turn the page. I watched PTL last night and there offense was just fun to watch. They made 5-7 passes every time down the court. Then I watch our stale offense... How anyone can defend a guy well into his 4th season with his record is stunning.

The Clippers at full strength are not a good basketball team. But when you decimate a team by removing their 3 best players and you can't win? If Woodson is not replaced soon this season is over. I don't care how bad the East is when you can't even beat a depleted Clippers team you suck. The ASG just seems asleep on the Hawks. They have no problem firing Hartley, a guy with a World Championship, but they hang onto Mike Woodson like grim death. They give him so many chances that I've lost count. Why? I think it's because Levenson has more sway in hockey and the lousy Gearon's run the Hawks. Yes, Levenson is involved but my sense is that the Gearons are standing in the way right now. The Gearons love BK and Woodson. We will never come to close to fulfilling our potential as long as Woody is coaching. Why are the ASG/Gearons so blind?

Try watching a PTL game sometime and you will see what happens with a free flowing half court offense. The average number of passes per possession is 5 or 6! These guys pass, cut, screen away, and just are always in movement. The result? They get everybody involved and the balls moves constantly. They get open looks, good quality shots almost every time down. Now go watch a Hawks game. Watch the movement. There is nothing. Then come back and tell me about Woodson. The way we play offensive basketball is truly a disgrace to the game.

I think Woody's biggest mistake, is not starting Acie. And that may keep the team from taking off like it should. That's objectivty. Actually, I think Woody gets an F-...I don't have the time for a War and Peace posts with all of my grievances with Woodson. But, he has been lousy from his first month on the job. I have NEVER seen an offense so without basic movement. There are few screens away from the ball, zero back door cuts, just the same damn play every time down. There is little involvement with screens for Marvin or running anything through Horford. His defense? I used to SCREAM at his incompetant ass when I was at the games about basic things like having guys show on pick and rolls. I watched Iverson score 50 points one night when not one Hawk dared to show on a high screen. It never occured to dumbass to instruct his team to at least show on a basic screen. NC, in this matter your DEAD WRONG and you are the one with no objectivity. This is a poorly coached team that is underacheiving badly. And when people were making pre-season predictions NOBODY thought the East was this damn bad. NOBODY!!! Everybody thought the East was improved. Seriously, you are way off base. LOL at that...

BK isn't in the zip code of a creative deal that would help the team out. No way in hell. Pipe dreaming. When is the last time he made a creative trade? He's too busy sitting back admiring his creation. According to him he still hasn't made a bad pick.

Salim has absolutely NOTHING in common with Monta Ellis. Nothing. Monta is literally bigger, stronger, faster, quicker, a better ball handler, and can jump out of the gym. Monta can get to the rim and finish. And he shoots a helluva lot better percentage. That is a really lame comparison.
