  1. One thing I noticed from the draft is that the Bucks took a PG. This seems to indicate that they will be letting Ramon Sessions walk. Hawks still have a shot at getting him instead of Bibby. I agree the Hawks need a legit defensive/rebounding center.
  2. Any time you say something like this, you also have to say what you would have done with the pick if it was up to you. Who would you have picked?
  3. Oh, for some reason I thought those were the contracts of the players we were trading for. Heinrich has 3 years at about 9million each. Camby has 1 year at 7.65 million. (according to hoopshype)
  4. Not bad, but those are some long contracts for Camby and Hinrich. I guess the only player who will get a big raise during that time is Horford, and Crawford's contract will be up then. I would start Joe at SG, Smith at SF, Horford at PF and Camby at C though, I think.
  5. Exactly, that's why I mentioned that you don't pick your starters based only on offense. You want a balance, you can't just play your best offensive players, otherwise our starting lineup would be Bibby, Crawford, Joe, Marvin and Zaza.
  6. Offense is only half the game Diesel. You don't decide your starting lineup based only on how good people are on offense, do you?
  7. Did you even read the article? "a trade that involved Law and would have included Ellis going to the Hawks" This means the trade could have been Josh Smith+Acie for Monte Ellis. I guess the ownership are bad guys for blocking that one right? What a stupid conclusion to jump to.
  8. How did I not realize that this trade would be a way for Diesel to get Marvin out of the starting lineup.
  9. I think Crawford is a Flip Murray replacement, not a starting PG. The Hawks were going to pay that money for Acie and Speedy to sit the bench, so I don't mind at all. Plus Crawford becomes a nice expiring contract during the next offseason. I hope the Hawks play hardball with Bibby, take a PG in the draft, then get a big man in FA.
  10. Don't expect him to close out on a jump shooting big man either. Don't tell me Josh gives more effort than Marvin. Maybe he gives more effort at doing what he wants to do (dunk on fast breaks, block shots, get steals, spin moves, dangerous passes), but he doesn't give consistent effort to the rest of the game.
  11. Totally agree with you. Every time Joe is doubled, I am like "OKAY, THERE IS A DOUBLE TEAM, SOMEONE HAS AN ADVANTAGE", but then you look at the guys on the court and they don't really have an advantage because Woodson doesn't put them in the right places to get the ball and make a play.
  12. I'll be there. My wife can't go so I have an extra ticket if anyone is interested. Section 313, Row L, I'll sell it for below face value ($53). Give me a call . if you are interested. I'll be at the CNN Center before the game drinking a beer and you can get the ticket from me.
  13. What about if he was playing PF and rebounding against other PFs instead of playing Center and rebounding against guys with 2 to 3 inches on him?
  14. Yeah, I don't think Al is healthy right now. Plus you are talking about his value and offensive ability as a Power Forward, a position he barely gets to play. How often is Al the PF on offense? Do you expect him to score in the paint over Big Z? I agree he hasn't taken his game to the next level yet, and I'd like to see him use quickness to beat bigger centers, but he also hasn't gotten enough touches in good situations on offense. You can't develop a post game if you only get the ball in the post 2 or 3 times a game.
  15. I think that's why we are booing, because there are usually so many fans of the other team that we have to drown out their cheers with our boos.
  16. I always wear team jerseys when I'm watching big games. It doesn't work every time, but it did pretty well for me through Florida's two national championship runs. I just got a Joe Johnson jersey Saturday and wore it to the game Sunday. So far, so good.

    Game 2

I'll be at the game. Got my 400 level ticket waiting for me at will call. I can't wait.
  18. That's pretty funny because I was in Florida during last years playoffs preparing for my wedding. I was pretty bummed about missing the games and not being able to go to them, but getting married was worth it. This year I'm going to all the games :) I got my wife a Horford jersey and she finally wore it to the game Sunday, so maybe you should try that?
  19. I just got a pair for game one on ticketmaster. Sec 311, Row H This is gonna be awesome! I need to get myself a jersey on Saturday, my wife has a Horford one I got her. I wouldn't mind meeting up before hand, I'll definitely be drinking some beers at the CNN center. Hawks.com says there will be a block party before each game, but I don't really know what that will be like.
  20. I wouldn't mind that one bit. I always love when my team gets to play up the "no respect" underdog role when it comes to the postseason.
  21. Yeah, I thought Solo was becoming a solid NBA player for a little while there, and now he can't get off the bench, even with Marvin out. He is at least as good as Glen Davis or Josh Powell and those guys get playing time on championship teams.
  22. I looked at the stats and the big difference was turnovers. Hawks had 17 turnovers to the Sixers 7. Sixers had 9 steals.
  23. I'm pretty sure we replaced Marvin too. I don't remember seeing the Hawks on the court with only 4 players. I agree with ex, the Hawks play fine at home all the time. Marvin being there or not isn't what is making us win these games. This game against Cleveland will really tell the tale. On the road against a great SF that Marvin plays very solid defense on.
  24. I think Zaza has been playing pretty solid defense for the most part as well, at least against big men. He isn't quick enough to help against guards that make it into the lane, but he has been doing a solid job this year.
