  1. We didn't lose the game because of our defense. We lost because our offense started playing not to lose at about 9 minutes left in the game, instead of playing a normal offense. We tightened up and forced everything through Joe, running the shot clock down to nothing every play, instead of continuing to do what got us to that point with a lead.
  2. I can't find the Hawks on that thing, what's going on? Oh yeah, the Hawks are scheduled to make the playoffs this year. :beer11:
  3. I don't understand how Josh can think it is a good idea to shoot 3's that aren't in the last 5 seconds of the shot clock. Does he make 75% of his 3's in practice or something? Does he need someone to do the math for him about what a particular 3 pt% equals in 2pt%? Hasn't anyone ever told him how bad ass he would look with a 50%+ field goal percentage? Dude would be a stud. I also don't understand how Woody always has him out at the 3 point line. We have no post presence on offense, and one of our two post players barely ever gets the ball in the post. Is he worried Smith will get upset at him or something? Does Smith really think that he has a better chance at making a 3 pointer or jumpshot than he does trying to post someone up, or make a move to the rim? So confusing.
  4. ANTOINE WALKER GOT TRADED FROM THE T-WOLVES and WAIVED BY THE GRIZZLIES, why would you possibly want him on your team?
  5. Yeah, I was surprised he jumped all the way to 50 wins. Portland won 13 games in a row last year and ended up 41-41. Of course, only 3 of those were on the road.
  6. Just browse around www.justin.tv Someone will probably be streaming it there.
  7. Exactly. You have to earn respect. It takes more than 3 playoff wins and 4 game winning streak. We'll get there if we deserve it.

Yeah, Solo looked really solid for a guy who hadn't seen any playing time this year. He was eating up rebounds, playing tough defense, and catching everything they threw at him. No "benchwarmer jitters" where he fumbles it out of bounds after a no look pass or anything. Bibby definitely gets credit for finding these guys too, great passing game by him tonight.
  9. I think it is good for the Hawks in a way, it means the Raptors weren't giving any effort on defense, and they weren't even close to our players half the night when we were shooting jumpers, so it was good for the Hawks. You can't pick up fouls without at least TRYING to play defense. If Nique had explained it, it might have made more sense. I don't mind him saying "heat check" because our guys have been on fire.
  10. It would still be on Sportsouth or FSN for local people. That's what the schedule shows for the Boston games that are on NBATV and ESPN. I didn't think we could win the vote, but I figured it couldn't hurt. I think it's a pretty cool idea though. It at least gives breakout teams a chance to get on "national" TV instead of seeing the same teams every week on TNT and ESPN.
  11. Hey guys, NBA.com is running a vote to determine what games are shown on NBA-TV on Tuesday nights this season. The first vote came out for Boston vs. Houston (should be a good matchup). Next Tuesday, the Hawks@ Bulls is listed as an option in the poll. Everyone should vote for the Hawks vs. Bulls to be on NBA-TV, getting the Hawks some national exposure. Everyone knows the Lakers are going to kill Dallas anyways, what fun would that be to watch? http://www.nba.com/FanNight/
  12. Thanks for the heads up. I'm watching now. Not a big fan of Payton and Snow from the little I've watched when they are on. edit: Josh talking about his relationship with Woodson. Payton giving him decent advice.
  13. I agree with you Ex. Hoford doesn't seem to be using his strength when he does back people down either. He was supposed to be as big as Brand last night, why not back him all the way down? Instead he seems somewhat tentative. I'd definitely like to see some more quick moves from him. That move against Brand that you mentioned was exactly what he needs to be doing. Some pick and roll would be nice too, I never see him get the ball after setting a pick. None of our guys do really.
  14. I went to the game yesterday. I watched the Florida-Georgia game at Stats (GO GATORS!) so I could make it to the game in time. I got a "Standing Room Only" ticket in section 302 for $10 from the box office at about 3:00pm, but I didn't have to stand at all, there were plenty of empty seats. The crowd was pretty late showing up (like our team) but by the second half things were filled up pretty well. I would say it was probably 75-80% actual attendance. I almost walked out while we were down 20 because I was tired from drinking and cheering for the Gators and couldn't handle watching Thaddeus Young shoot 3's on us and everyone on their team get open paths to the basket for easy dunks. My determination paid off though and we came back. Awesome ending.
  15. Yeah, you have to keep this in mind any time you read anything from Hollinger.
  16. I'm guessing it's more likely it has something to do with this "Atlanta F Marvin Williams sat out the second half after spraining his left thumb in the first quarter. " http://www.nba.com/games/20081013/CHAATL/recap.html
  17. Yeah, I just started listening toward the end here. On the Bobcats' last possession Josh Smith almost had a steal, then Horford blocked Wallace to stop them and secure the win. Acie had a big 3 pointer with 1:30 left to go.
  18. Awesome man! It sounds like you guys had a great time. I'm glad the players were so friendly. I've been watching Al since he was at Florida and he always seems like a great guy. Sports really is about the fans, and it's great when players realize that.
  19. Thanks for the update on Childress. I'm definitely interested to see how he does in Europe.
  20. Last year it was a Phillips Arena. It was pretty cool. I plan on being there for this year's. Wish I could get into the season ticket holder stuff though!
  21. Chuck Liddell vs. Rashad Evans Rich Franklin vs. Matt Hammill Dan Henderson and Karo Parysian are on the card too. I'm a big mixed martial arts fan, so I'm pretty excited.
  22. I worked at a pizza place after high school and all through college. I was a cook and I enjoyed it because the atmosphere was pretty laid back and a lot of the people I worked with were real cool. You just hang in the kitchen and knock out the work they give you. Cleaning after hours was a pain, but you get used to it. The schedule was flexible too so as my school schedule changed, I was able to change my work schedule. AND the waitresses where I worked were pretty cute too. I would do like people suggested and try to find something that you like doing.
  23. Speaking of the UFC, anyone going to the event Saturday at Phillips? I got two tickets in section 307, I hope the fights are exciting.
  24. That is very cool. I have a modded XBOX that I can use to do a lot of the same stuff, with no support for HD or anything though (which is why I don't use it any more). I've started using a free program called TVersity that lets you host media on your PC and stream it to an XBOX or PS3. It doesn't do ISO's though, which is annoying. It is pretty slick though, and I've used it to stream internet audio and video which comes in handy as well.
  25. Othello Hunter is light years ahead of Solomon Jones on offense. If he can play even average defense (which is about what Solo gave, but with lots of shot blocking) I will be happy to have him as a backup. I agree we will be more likely to see Smith, then Horford, and then Hunter as you guys suggested. Also, that JJ is likely to be the backup at SF, considering all the depth we have at PG and SG (until Speedy, Acie and Bibby get hurt).
