  1. Perhaps we can agree to disagree, because most people I know would believe that Rock concert patrons are just as violent as any rap concert patron. Your post was vague but made direct implications (Rap/Hip Hop = Violence) which I felt a need to address.
  2. This is one aspect of the new arena I do not like. A barbershop at NBA arena??? Overcompensating to the point that it is offensive. Yes, I am a brother.
  3. Violence is violence. Doesn't matter where it takes place New Zealand or New York. Point being the statement that the Hip Hop culture is the main source of violence is not accurate. Let's not make a sweeping judgement on a genre of predominately black culture negatively. Rock has just as bad a reputation as Hip Hop.
  4. This last week's been an interesting one in terms of violent behaviour at rock shows. About 50 AC/DC fans were reportedly arrested for "drunk and disorderly behaviour" following the Australian rock band's gig in Wellington, New Zealand over the weekend. While this seems like a big deal, local police were actually playing down the number of people arrested. Why? Well, as New Zealand Police Inspector Mike Coleman told the Otago Daily Timesthat about 30 to 40 people are usually arrested at every Saturday night gig, and 50 is "not bad, [for] a full moon and a nice hot night." Amusingly, the newspaper ran a headline about the gig which read "AC/DC fans stay out of trouble." Last Tuesday (Jan. 26), what was either a disturbance or "riot" (depending what news source you read) erupted at Metallica's show in Santiago, Chile after a group of fans attempted to force their way into the venue. The group were reportedly pushed back by military police using hot water canons, according to the Latin America Herald Tribune, and 120 fans were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, drinking in public and drug possession.
  5. Pay up, I would like a grande mocha frappuccino please. Hawks new GM Travis Schlenk is void of melanin.
  6. Don't overlook his improved free throw shooting. Hack-a-Howard, did not work for Dallas recently.
  7. Chuck is ridiculous. I saw the episode when he said that and simply shook my head, what a goof ball (no real analysis on anything). I believe a few days later he said the NBA is the worst he had ever seen. At least, no one else on the panel agreed with him about the Hawks. In fact, Kenny stated that we had just won five games in a row, and we were not Hell. We have posted victories against Cleveland, Houston, San Antonio, OKC and Toronto. Those are some of the top tier team in the NBA. Hell does not do that.
  8. RJ Hunter is available. Chicago just released him. C'mon Hawks, lets bring the GSU star home and let him be the heir apparent to Korver.
  9. So tell me again, why we kept him this year when we have two stallions sitting on the bench needing minutes????
  10. Perhaps the Hawks are targeting artists that have supported them this year. TI and 2 Chainz at least come to the games. Haven't seen Usher, Outkast or Future this year. However Usher could make it to the Winterfest at Philips.
  11. yeah, Supes can go a little overboard at time.
  12. Want cheers, win the freaking game.
  13. It is against the law to play both of your hot players together in the game?? THJ and Dwight were both smokin, but hardly ever were on the court together. Go for the knockout punch!!
  14. If the Hawks had taken care of business and went for the knockout punch when they had the Lakers against the ropes, those Lakers fans would have been silenced. They were quiet while losing. Atlanta is a city of transplants at least 50%. Don't blame the fans, people show pride in the team representing their hometown. Had a row of obnoxious Lakers fans behind me bashing Dwight, who were silenced by his play. Our sorry defense loss that game, not a lack of fan support and Lou Williams was out to prove a point in front of his hometown. Actually, this was the best I have seen that Lakers team play. Kudos to them and we will bury them in LA, in front of all the boos Dwight will receive there. Payback is a ......
  15. last night, the clock operators were embarrassing.
  16. From what I saw today, Bazemore and Hardaway look ready. Dwight will be a monster on the boards for us this season. He still can't hit a free throw. Look forward to a lot of hack-a-Howard this season. The rookies simply looked like rookies to me. None really stood out but if I were to pick one it would be Delaney. Delaney had Bynum flustered at one point with his D. Mike Scott was the invisible man and Edy makes Dwight look like a midget. That guy is huge. Dwight will bring the best out of Edy this year. Ryan Kelly looked better than I thought he would. He could get his shot off. Nice crowd also for a open practice.
  17. I am on my way!!! We are going to play for the championship this year. Yeah I said it!
  18. Did you just insinuate that the Hall of Famer Dominque Wilkins had a "incomplete game" ? Shawn and Amare wish they had the type of game Wilkins had.
  19. His case is in the same status as Bud's DUI case, taken care of....
  20. 61-21, The Hawks will want to prove that last year was no fluke.
  21. Edy's play has been a disruptive force for the opposing teams (blocks, rebounds, deflections and points). I hope he has a bigger role than what was anticipated this year. Also Bazemore's play has steadily improved and he seems to not want to relinquish the starting role to Sef.
  22. I think Teague has been our MVP so far this year. He is finally taking charge while on the court, and not catering to just a couple of players. By mid season, I believe he will be considered for the an all star bid.
  23. I attend about 8-10 games a year. I get decent prices from stubhub.com. Concession prices always cost me more than admission.
