  1. Now Horford finally has a chance to be THE MAN, now that Josh is out. Lets see if he can step up his game like Josh did last year. I want to see if he goes to get the ball or continues to pass the ball when he gets it down low. We need to get a real center and put him at power forward and Josh at small forward.
  2. I was at the game Saturday and finally got to see Petro in a game. He did not provide any spark on the offensive end, however he was able to grab rebounds. Something our team desperately needs. He was the biggest guy on the court by far and was able to grab rebounds. I say we give him an opportunity to play but he should understand that it is either rebound or the trading block. I believe if he takes that approach then we may have a useful player in Petro.
  3. I was at the game too, and to me the Hawks struggled the first half. They could not get rebounds and the unibrow was having his way with Josh. No slam against Josh, I predict the unibrow will be a monster in the NBA for years to come. Deshawn Stevenson was terrible. I believe only scored 3 points all night and the rook Rivers took him to school in the second half. He tried to play bullyball with Rivers and kept getting fouls. Devin Harris I believe with be our best new player. He always had skills and I believe the change of scenery will do him well. Josh and Al were both solid. Josh with a few bad shots and Al being a little timid at times. Never seen ZaZa play this poorly, glad it was pre-seaon. Tolliver is a keeper and I was pleasantly surprised by his play. Sweet Lou and Morrow are flat out shooters. Lou actually gets to the line. Got tickets for Saturday's game too, hopefully Benson, Jenkins and Korver play in this one.
  4. Al continues to pass up shots. He has to be more aggressive on offense. Morrow had a horrible game. Josh will average 20 points this year. I wish he would go back to attempting to block every shot that went up. Lou will make up for Joe's scoring with no problem this year. Really wanted to see Jenkins and Benson play, perhaps next game.
  5. Happy Birthday and hopefully the Hawks do it this year!!! NBA Champs!
  6. RIP Dan Roundfield. Those Hawks teams made me a Hawks fan for life....John Drew, Tom McMillan, Tree Rollins, Eddie Johnson over 30 years ago. Class Act.
  7. So does that mean that Benson makes the squad this year??
  8. Why are we holding on to him now? He does not seem to be that much of a departure from Woodson and his style of play. Lets bring in a coach that will truly bring in an fast paced offense, not this walk it up the court stuff...
  9. Marvin is a scrub, the guy could not drive to the basket without falling, Hell, I saw him make himself fall driving to the basket...WTH. Hey Atlscublove make a video of that.
  10. Not a big Horford fan, but I will give Al a pass on this game, however next game he need to represent the Hawks a little better than that.
  11. Thabeet... I stopped reading after that.
  12. Bring Jamal back, we need his clutch shooting
  13. I keep hearing how Horford was such a leader??? I remember him throwing the team under the bus when things were not going well and in his mind, he did do no wrong. That's not leadership to me, its a team win and a team loss. Josh has a long way to go to be a true leader of the team, especially his mistrust of Teague. The coach need to take more ownership of the team and define the roles of the players of the team. I am not sure if LD is good at that. Joe never displayed leadership on the court. He played well offensively and defended, but I never saw him directing other players, offering advice or taking someone under his wings. I always wanted Devin Harris instead of Joe anyways. I think Devin will surprise Atlanta with his play this year.
  14. Joe had some good games but his jersey does not need to hang next to Dominque's. His career in Atlanta is not comparable.
  15. Joe Johnson played hard only before the All star games for the bonus money. He never connected with the community and was as exciting as a slice of bread. I am looking forward to the new JJ.
  16. I could not be happier about the Hawks now. Good Bye Joe, Marvin and soon to be Mr. Playoffs Disappearing act, Al Hortford!
  17. He was embarrassed after he got slammed on in the Denver game. After the slam he got off the floor holding his hip. This dude is hilarious. I hope he gets traded by Thursday afternoon.
  18. After the Golden State game the threads on Josh were brutal and quite premature. Now he has shown that he can carry the team without Al (the chosen one) or Joe (Mr. Iso) and Marvin (the invisible man-even when he is on the court). A little help from some vets at the end of these games has resulted in victories. Go HAWKS!
  19. I agree with Diesel, if there were any good time to trade Marvin, now is it. He is currently playing decent ball and other team may be duked into taking him on. The only year he sustained decent play throughout the year was before he re-signed for his 5 year $37 million dollar extension.
  20. Great game by the Hawks last night! That is the way we started the season this year. Hate to say it but I think knowing that everyone was on the trading block (with the exception of Joe and Al), may have lit a fire under some of their a$$es. Either play hard or get rid of them. Do you hear that Marvin (oops, he is so bad, no one wants him).
  21. You and I were watching the same game. Excellent play by Teague all game. He played outstanding defense on Stephon and pushed the ball. We should have sat Bibby a long time ago and let Teague learn as he started games. Now he will most likely sit again behind Hinrich. I love Hinrich and Jamal coming off the bench along with Marvin. Time to replace Marvin with someone who can produce anything as a starting SF. He was awful last night.
