  1. Quote: The ASG should just give Belkin 10% morethan what he put into the investment and be done with it. They will instantly make it back once this dispute is resolved anyway as the team's market value will increase by that much as soon as he is bought out anyway... Just my two cents I imagine the ASG would prefer to recognize a gain in a couple of years as opposed to breaking even now.
  2. Here...I'll clarify for you. Your questions are followed by my answer. Dumbass: Secondly, what exactly is your point? that Marvin is a jump shooter, not someone who creates off the dribble. And that it is possible for Marvin's role- and consequently the number of shots he takes- to be defined by Woody, the head coach (you called someone "dumb" for blaming Woody on MW being passive). Dumbass: Name the 4 players that I said "shoot too much"? Josh Smith, Zaza, Lue, and AJ. My point wasn't that they shoot "too much," but that between the first three you named, JJ, and Chill there won't always be 20 shot attempts for Marvin in each game. That was the basic math. Dumbass: Which are the 4 players that get significant playing time? AJ has only played in like 3 games. Lue had to play hurt so AJ could get a breather. I'm not going to argue with you the meaning of the word "significant," but AJ is the only healthy PG at the moment. Hopefully Acie will change that soon. Dumbass: Are you saying Marvin does not get significant playing time? YES! That's exactly what I'm saying, re-read the post, it's all there. Dumbass: Have you had your meds today? My advice to you- "Pills are good!"
  3. Quote: Quote: Quote: What a dumb response. How can you blame Woody for Marvin not shooting the ball? Wow. Let's see. Josh shoots from anywhere on the court he wants at anytime he wants. ZaZa shoots all the time. There are times when Lue and AJ take shots we think they should not and you really believe Woody has intentionally put handcuffs on a #2 overall pick that is shooting over 50% from the field????? Wow!!!! And you call me dumb? You named 4 players that get significant playing time and claimed they shoot too much. You have a good case for three of them (AJ hardly ever shoots the ball unless he's wide open). Add in JJ's shots which are deserved. The Hawks aren't left with many shots to go around, basic math there. Plus you have to factor in that MW isn't a one-on-one player, he's a jump shooter. He benefits from ball movement, and the Hawks don't have much of it a lot of the time. Whether it's Woody's fault or not, it's not out of the question that it could be his fault. And you, sasquatch, are terrible. What? First of all, if you are going to follow me around so much, you could at least carry my bags. Secondly, what exactly is your point? What the heck does this have to do with the price of tea in China? Name the 4 players that I said "shoot too much"? Which are the 4 players that get significant playing time? AJ has only played in like 3 games. Are you saying Marvin does not get significant playing time? Have you had your meds today? Somebody call down to Georgia Regional and ask for a bedcheck. I am very curious how you read my reply and gathered that I might be trying to say that Marvin wasn't getting significant playing time, among other things.

  5. Quote: Talk about stupid comments!!! What an idiot!!!!!!!!!! Use more !'s, it makes you sound smart.
  6. "sasquatch" - you are absolutely terrible.
  7. i meant to vote for lawstudent101 but put woody on accident, so woody should actually have less votes right now.
  8. Acie Law's the player we need. His defense translates well to the NBA because of his size (see him guarding Grant Hill last night?). He'll also prove to be a scoring threat more and more each game once he learns what he can and can not do. I think he'll develop quicker the more time he gets, and right now he's our best option. No need to trade for Calderon (another young guy) or Andre Miller (small window). Law's the future, so his potential should be maxed out.
  9. Quote: The way he's playing this year I'd rather have Varejao than Chills. Varejao as a SG/SF would be quite an experiment.
  10. Quote: Any of you guys still think Smoove is a 2nd option scorer? Good logic. Guess Joe's not either.
  11. Quote: I disagree on both. Smooth isn't a superstar and he's really only a star in Atlanta because of the dunk contest. He's a young player who has shown promise but a critical evaluation of him shows that he is a tweener who has holes in his game that can't be fixed by practice. I used him because he has some hype around him and that would likely allow us to SnT him for enough to get it done. Generally athleticism and coordination can't be fixed in practice, but it's the fundamentals that JS struggles with (low post moves, shot selection, etc). That's exactly what can be improved in practice, and these are exactly the things you'd expect to be a weakness in his game considering he's the age of most NBA rookies. He may be overrated to a degree because of the highlights, but there's no need to go overboard in the other direction.
  12. Quote: so we've been reduced to hoping we can win solely based on the opposition being shorthanded? haha wow
  13. Quote: Quote: So either you so called experts know more than a current professional basketball player or you think Salim was lying when he said that a break from basketball during the off season is good thing!!! [/indent] Salim would be the most honest athlete in the world if he said that a break from basketball was going to hurt his game. Even if he felt this were true, he would never come out and say that. I also didn't see where anyone claimed to be an expert, but I easily could have missed something there.
  14. I recommend 2k. NBA live's sucked since '05.
  15. Quote: Do you really think that Kobe was better than Nique or Drexler? Or Dr. J for that matter? Kobe's better than all 3 of those guys.
  16. Quote: I'm sorry, I assume that we were staying on topic and trying to predict Marvin's numbers for next year. Unless you are assuming that he will break his hand next year too, per game averages are what you need to predict the future preformance right? Re-read the subject.
  17. Quote: What do I care about another dumb inacurate article about the Hawks? If someone was critical of one of your family members and you thought that it was unjustified, would you E-mail it to your brother just to show him a dumb article about him? I hope not!! if you made a terrible point would you try to relate it to something irrelevant? I hope not!!!
  18. Quote: I have to make a comment about Boston. I agree that they have 3 all-star starters. But what happens to them when they bring in the bench. They have no bench. What happens if one of the all-stars gets injured? They have no bench! Still...as long as KG doesn't get injured (and he never has) they'll probably have a better regular season record than the Hawks.
  19. Quote: From AJC "And I just hope my knee gets all the way back to right so I can show people what I can do" WTF? I thought it was healed COMPLETELY? Maybe I'm misreading... haha did you read the article?
  20. He's on Rome again right now, his voice is worse than Lou Holtz's.
  21. Quote: In the spirit of, "Kevin McHale isn't walking through that door!" I think we should make Deke a GM of another team, and then trade mediocre players and picks for the superstars on his team. Follow the Celtics model. The Celtics gave up a lot.
  22. Quote: Even though Miami traded for Shaq and signed Gary Payton, Jason Williams, and trade for James Posey, they still drafted Dwyane Wade, who is the player that is their foundation. You can just as easily say that the Celtics traded for Ray Ray and KG, but that they drafted Pierce.
  23. Quote: This may get them a championship ring. I think Peirce, Allen, and KG matched up against Duncan, Gionobli, and Parker would make for one hell of a final... It would be a battle of US stars versus international stars as well. I hope it happens.
  24. Quote: Giving up AL Jefferson, for an aging forword was a great move? When you've already committed half of your future to Ray Allen, there's no reason to force (down the road) Al Jefferson into the situation that Jermaine O'Neil is in now. I'd much rather have a GM that was committed to all or nothing every season then trying the in between thing (ala LA Lakers).
  25. Quote: Frankly, hinging this all to MW's star is not an attractive notion to me. Moreover, this team might be "as good as it gets" for us as each of the next 4 years we have to resign 2, then 1, then 1, then 2 top pick prospects that will command a higher than usual salary if only because of their former draft positions and the word "potential" that comes with it. I can't see us coming out with any more than 3 of these players TOPS and while I like JS and even Horford to some extent, they play much the same position and neither are superstar quality players IMHO. The Hawks were the youngest team in the league last season. We shouldn't have to bring in big name free agents to significantly improve, especially with two more lottery picks. I'd give us a 35-40% chance at the playoffs, but I honestly don't think that's too bad considering all the EC teams that have sacrificed their future (Charlotte, Orlando, Boston) to be a playoff team but not a title contender.
