  1. That's what I like about Larry Drew. He actually bench Crawford late in the fourth quarter because he knew defensively Crawford is lacking and offensively we don't need him when we have Joe, Josh, Bibby, Horford, Marvin, ect...
  2. Jordan Crawford first shot in the NBA... an air ball. Nice :whistling: Josh (Smith) took a lot of jumpers tonight. I didn't like the long ones, but I'm fine with the 10 footer ones. Those had a chance of going in... he hit all of his too.
  3. This is the coaching the Hawks need 2 years ago. Game management wise as far as subs, minutes and timeouts goes; LD is years ahead of Woodson.
  4. Motion offense is looking good. Joe got most of his points on easy looks. Only a few ISO plays so far. Similar to last game versus Heat. One thing that's a bit disappointing is that Josh Smith take half of his shot so far in the form of a long jump shot. Marc Gasol is not playing and Hawks taking advantage of rebounding the ball. Zaza doing good for Horford in foul trouble.
  5. Josh Smith still jacking up long jump shots at the beginning and at the end there.
  6. 2nd unit is a weakness for the Hawks so far. Teague has to look to lead the second unit in scoring since no one can hit a barn from his assists.
  7. Good 7 minutes start so far for the starters. The offense flows really well... not one player hold the ball for more than 4 seconds.
  8. This thing is selling out quickly; at least that's what floating around the internet. Anyone thinking of picking it up?
  9. Just shows how much Josh Smith means to the defense. I wouldn't worry too much about giving up scores in preseason.
  10. Falcons got 2 gift handed to them. Luck is part of the game but still, these last 2 games were something else. I'm still not sold on them yet.
  11. Hawks should've kept Joe Smith. He was very underutilized last season.
  12. Not only is LD is saying it but he's also implementing it! It feels different than the previous HC.
  13. Blanco also has an OBP of .348. They're only behind the 1-5 hitters with respect to OBP and better than everyone else on the roster other than Hinske who's just a notch below. A lineup of Infante, Prado, Heyward, McCann, Lee, Hinske, Yunel, Blanco, Pitcher looks pretty effective against any pitcher.
  14. Since the trade, Yunel is playing better: (1) .340 OBP versus .291 OBP for Gonzalez, (2) hitting .275 versus .240 for Gonzales. Right now the Braves need hitters or someone to even get on base. Gonzales strike out too much, when he's not hitting he doesn't do anything else (eg: take a ball, work the pitcher). With Yunel being here, it decrease the likelihood of an automatic out at the bottom of the order. Same with Blanco.
  15. Chances are slim now that Prado's injured, but I believe the Braves would've had a chance if they didn't trade away Escobar and Blanco. The bottom of the order is not producing anything since the trade. The Braves were hitting and walking like a contender (as hot as the Yankees or Phillies) before those trade and called ups (McClouth, Diaz). Defense in the field can only take you so far...pitching is the only defense that matters anyhow.
  16. Too bad that big is on the decline. But I agree with you. Dampier is one of those center that Hordford was refering to... the one where he can slide to the 4th spot for most plays without a dropoff in production. However, the Hawks did say that their roster is complete for training camp and no further addition will be made. Dampier will most likely sign with Rockets.
  17. It's not good when you can't even win with Hudson on the mound. They're in deep sh*t.
  18. Very nice video. I enjoyed it.
  19. Looks like it's out of reach now. I don't get why's Hinske not in the lineup against the Phillies? It's not a good idea to rely on McClouth and Ankiel to produce anything. It seems like Hinske the odd man out in the outfield, which is crazy because he have a big part of that run before the allstar break. After those trade I feel like if the other pitcher contained the 1 thru 5 hitters, they can basically forget about 6 thru 9.
  20. I'd say he can hover around 60%; the Eagles ran a lot of screens for easy points and not to mention he got some playmakers on that team that can catch the football.
  21. You can play switching defense occasionally, but not ALL THE TIME. Even scrubs like Zaza were switching onto Rondo which is ridiculous.
  22. The Vikings are struggling with Farve right now... think of what Vick could do with them. Good defense + Andrian Peterson +Vick = Bingo!
