    Why?

True, we don't have a #1... I wish we had a durant or someone who could thrive in this system. It's a shame how close we are without a superstar and so far under the cap. We out coached and went toe to toe with a team that paid for a title and has the best player of this generation. Wish we could get over the hump.

    Why?

It is true and that is why it is so frustrating. We are such a better coached team and don't have anything close to a superstar. Cleveland also shot historically well from 3 (in each game) and we still should be up 3-1 or tied 2-2. That's why I'm so upset about this. It had to happen in our series.

    Why?

We played good enough defense. Our defense is overrated and should not be respected. But dang man, the 3's that they made were such momentum killers. Literally every time. It is unfathomable how ridiculous they were from 3... And we should be up 3-1.

    Why?

Why did the Cavs have to shoot like golden state? why did all of the lebron scrubs play like superstars again? this Atlanta team is such a well coached team and we were in all of these games but one despite the all time record 3 point shooting. Imagine if cleveland and actually played to their averages. We would be up 3-1. And don't tell me otherwise. We outplayed Cleveland twice if not three times. I hate Cleveland and specifically lebron James.

    New Nets GM...

Baze is gone, yes. Thabo starts. Teague isn't going anywhere IMO. Who else is gone?

    New Nets GM...

Bump... They are trying to copy Atlanta. Stole Kenny. Will go after horford.
  7. Was just sitting next to him in first class on my flight to LAX. He was trying to talk rather quietly, but I am lucky to have pretty good hearing and was eavesdropping. He is a disciple of Poppovich and Buford out of San Antonio, and of course was talking about "let's just do it the san antonio way/model" to whomever he had on the phone. Thought it was interesting. Also heard him talk about Al Horford, so maybe that is a target of theirs for free agency. Don't know if they have the $$$ though, and I don't know if Brooklyn would be attractive to him. Just passing some info along..Not much news here, but thought it was interesting! Also, ran into the team while I was out in San Fran-- Horford was a really nice guy, talked with Korver who was quite stoic and didn't really give me much.. Tavares is HUGE... wow. Go Hawks!
  8. Wow, lots of trolls joined HS recently. Goodness gracious. I I will just say this... 37 Ft for the Bucks. 6 for the Hawks. Ball game!

    Hawks Gear

Hi everyone, Happy New Year. I wasn't a big fan of the jerseys at the beginning, but wow... They are absolutely sick. I am LOVING the neon colors and they freaking POP with those grey jerseys on the road. That said, could someone suggest the best place for me to go to buy any neon Hawks gear? Thanks in advance! Go Hawks!
  10. This is an incorrect statement. Colorado thought it would get so much tax revenue from legalizing the sale of marijuana, but that could not be further from the truth (from what they were estimating to what actually has come in). Now I think weed will be legal, but let's not say that it will be some huge tax-generating business. These drug dealers will just not go to jail for selling it. Why would you want to pay taxes?
  11. And we freaking pushed the guy out of his position. Still unbelievable.
  12. Closist? Bored? Really? Must be facetious here.
  13. Man, you must live a miserable life. Your wife must be really happy.
  14. Yes, but the writer suggested that was due to the better bench play when he was out.
  15. Somebody found the Michael Jordan .gif with the Hawks beanie. Overused
  16. Guys, I called this a while ago: http://hawksquawk.net/community/topic/408786-dmc-to-detroit/
  17. Got into another argument with someone on a Tennessee Football forum. This is what the joker said: "Delevadova shot 30%, Shumpert shot 35%, and James Jones shot 33% in the Atlanta series. You and I have different definitions of players playing "out of their minds" and "shooting lights out." LeBron is playing the same way in the Golden State series but they are still losing...because Golden State is an infinitely better team than Atlanta." And I replied with: "So when JR Smith shoots 8-12 from 3, and wins game 1 for the Cavs, how does that not constitute playing out of his mind? He has not shot remotely close to that percentage in ANY game in the GS series. Quite clever for you to leave Smith out of it. Shumpert, while I will give you the 35% shooting from 3 in the Atlanta series, was deadly from 3 in Games 2 and 3 (the deciding games). He averages 8 PPG and went off for 16 and 15 points respectively. He was 4-6 from 3 in Game 2 and 4-8 in Game 3. That would mean playing over his ability in these crucial games. "Delly" only shot 2.5 3's per game in the regular season, but goes 4-9 from 3 in Game 3. Again, another over-achieving player giving you points that you do not see. Also, he took out Korver and got Horford ejected with his dirty play. The conversation is not about if Atlanta is better than Golden State or not. I think that with both teams healthy (GS is pretty much full strength, while the Cavs and Hawks are/were not) I think it would be a great series. The season was 1-1 and I think that it would probably go 7 if the Hawks were at full strength. Again, LeBron is playing how he played against Atlanta in this series, but the difference is that THE ROLE PLAYERS ARE NOT SHOOTING OUT OF THEIR MINDS LIKE THE ATLANTA SERIES. It is literally almost as if you did not watch the Atlanta series and went straight off of box scores."
  18. I do too, Soth. I am having some many arguments with Tennessee fans on their forum about this, and they were praising the Cavs' bench during our series, but mocking them as scrubs during the GS series. They went on to discredit Atlanta as "not a good team anyway" and that LeBron was toying with us... Sigh.
  19. I cannot fathom how on fire the Cavs were from beyond the arc in our series, and outside of LeBron, they have played like the chumps that they are. Part of it was our piss-poor defense, but in Game 1 we had people all over Smith and he was unconscious. Shumpert, James Jones, "Delly" (yuck), all knockin' em down from deep in our series... and can't throw it in the ocean vs. Golden State. It is really frustrating to watch!!!

    DMC to Detroit

Got this info from a guy who is close to the team and travels to all games with them. I hope we keep him but I think DMC is gone.
  21. Heard it here first. Heard rumblings that detroits people really like him. I don't think we keep him.
  22. Leflop with 44 points and Delly/Shump/Smith/Jones shoot 5/20 and have almost 15 points combined. Usually we would see one of them with 15 in a quarter against us. Where did that shooting go?
  23. KG, I was just up in Woodstock this weekend and boy, that is a real slow-paced place up there. I like it, but it might be TOO slow for me. Roswell is very nice, though!
  24. There is only one thing that I would change on the board and it is the negativity that we will see in spurts. I still love the board and will continue to lurk and post, but sometimes the negativity gets out of hand. Love the chat though-- so much fun!
