  1. Maggette is good..better offensively than Marvin at this point but Marvin is still young and developing. You might think he's playing bad because he doesnt seem to be scoring but he does the little things. Maggette is a player who will need to score but we already have Joe Johnson, Crawford, Smoove, and Bibby. We dont need another scorer. Marvin numbers are down because we have Crawford. I will pass on that trade especially since Maggette is much older but not a horrible idea
  2. good article. I still dont think we can beat Lakers in 7 but i think that we can make it to the finals. Lakers record is a bit suspect tho because they've played most of their games at home..like 75%(just guessing). We would have only 5 loses too if if we played at home as much as they did. Hawks are better than any other team in the West though..no doubt about it
  3. bingo, you got it. boston is forreal. They are the best in the East. Magic is a close 2nd and we're 3rd. Boston's defense is what makes them better than anyone else in the Eastern Conference and maybe even the Lakers. And watch out for the Cavs too..they are playing better ball now and are rolling..i dont wanna face Cavs or Magic(because of Dwight Howard) in the playoffs..gimme Boston first but still they are the best team..we just happen to match up well with them. Hawks would have to play Collins against Magic in a 7 game series IMO. Either way our worst matchup is the Magic
  4. exactly, you said it best. JR Smith was making all his shots..if he misses half of those its a different ball game...thats the NBA for ya. Everyone should stop crying..its a lost that we should bounce back from. I think if our bigs played tougher we win even if JR had a great nite. I really would like to see him play Collins lol just because he's a big body and can box out anyone..Nene was muscling our guys with ease
  5. Keep Woody..players like him and he's doing a good job. Byron Scott took Nets to the Finals twice, not Frank..but he was the assistant coach..that should probably count for something. I would go with Fratello if Woody wasnt an option but he is so I have to choose Woody..he's done a good job and should be a top 3 coach of the year candidate along with Scott Skiles and Phil Jackson IMO
  6. you're right..numbers dont lie in this league but the way the all star works is you have to get voted in and as much as Crawford tears apart other team's defenses, i just dont see him getting in over some of those big name players. I hope he does tho because at times he is our BEST player on some nights
  7. I dont reward guys thats on winning teams..all star is an individual accomplishment..has nothing to do with you're record. If his team is playing bad because they are rebuilding and guys are hurt, i dont think he should suffer because of it. Unlike MVP, where you would have to look at the person's record to see how much he helped the team win, all star just means just that..you're a star in this league. With that said, Horford is probably just as good as Lopez so if he made it over him i wouldnt be at all surprised
  8. I think the starting lineup for the East will be: PG-Rose(he will get the votes) SG-Wade SF-LeBron PF-Bosh(despite his bad game against Hawks..he's playing much better than KG or any PF in the east) C-Howard the bech should be: PG-Rondo SG-Joe Johnson SF-Pierce PF-KG C-Brook Lopez others: Granger Josh Smith/Shaq(he still might get in because he's Shaq) no room for Crawford or Horford but i can see Horford getting in before Crawford especially if a big man gets hurt but there are just too many good guards in the East: Vince Carter, Ray Allen, Harris, Arenas, Jennings, and even Mo Williams who was an all star last yr
  9. IM BACK..i was gone for a while. i changed my name...i used 2 post here as r3drumNYNJ for those that remember me. But being from NJ, i got to see Collins play alot when he in his prime and he does look overweight and slow but i think he can still contribute when we play Shaq and Howard because just 3 yrs ago he was tough as nails on the defensive end..and his BBIQ was pretty damn good despite his lack of skill..i'm rooting for him to do well because i know the effect he can have on the game without showing up in the boxscore. And i think he's better than Morris but maybe im biased lol but i doubt it
  10. is it the same interview on hawks.com I think so..you can check it out there..i heard it..good interview
  11. while Crawford can do those things better than Flip..he cannot defend nearly as good..I hope he really puts some efford on the defensive end this year..I think he has the capablities..he just has to want to play D
  12. I think it would work out fine..Joe Smith would take the little minutes Solomon had and cut a bit into Zaza's minutes..everyone should still be happy
  13. agreed..still a bit undersized for Shaq and Dwight..hope we sign Siler or Jason Collins, a big body who is known for his post defense and has been to the Finals twice..or maybe even both guys will be good lol
  14. sorry if this was already posted but I just saw on NBA.com that the Hawks are the 5th team most likely to fall next season..saying that the Raptors(i agree with) will rise, and the Wizards(i disagree with) will rise also..I think Hawks will still be the 4th seed in the East next season..I like the additions of Crawford, Teague, and Joe Smith alot..I think we are a much better team on paper at least. what do you guys think about this?
  15. i know it wasnt about who is the most talented because then I probably would of picked Crawford. I understand what you're saying but I do think VC will make the biggest impact for his team than any other player on that list. I think Magic are in a position to win it all now that they have VC. Also, I do think Hawks are legit contenders this year too..we are finally a deep team that can play 10 guys a night..Bibby, Joe Johnson, Marvin, Josh Smith, Horford, Teague, Crawford, Evans, Joe Smith, and Zaza can all see playing time..wow thats a pretty nice 2nd team!!!!!! Great offseason by Sund! we just need to gel and i think we can really go all the way..just some thoughts
  16. ok I know Crawford plays for our team but who the hell put Crawford?? over VC, Shaq and Rasheed?? nah get outta here man lol maybe he'll have more of an impact than Rasheed but not Vince or Shaq tho. Im not opinionated so I would like to know your reasons for picking Crawford. I chose VC because he is the best out of the group and with Turkoglu gone he will have to step up and be the man next to Howard
  17. Crawford would not be the best player..he is not better than Josh Smith or Mike Bibby..but that team without Joe Johnson would not make the playoffs still. And when has Crawford even been the best player on his team? Knicks..not really. Bulls? no. Warriors..nah. and definitely not now. But I do agree if Crawford is your best player, you're in trouble..I like the guy but he doesnt play much defense and he takes bad shots. I do think he can be one of the best 6th men in the NBA and I expect him to win 6th man of the year this season
  18. Eastern Conference 09 >Western Conference 09. If you havent notice. And no we arent a playoff team without JJ. Crawford is nice and all but his D is pretty bad at times.. and JJ does so much more than score. And the Eastern Conference has gotten tough..we would be in 10th place probably
  19. yea i agree with your list: 1. Kobe 2. Wade 3. Joe Johnson 4. Roy 5. Vince or Ray Allen
  20. Hey I hate going against Bowen because he's tough and can be a bit of a dirty defender at times but I would love to have him on our team. He's old but im sure he can still defend better than most SFs in the league at 38 yrs old. I would sign him for the minimum and let him play 5-10 min a night similar to the role Mario West played..he can guard Kobe and LeBron and those guys for us..im all for it..doubt it will happen tho. I think the only thing Hawks will end up doing is signing Siler before season starts which I would be happy with. This offseason has been good tho. Good job Sund
  21. I disgree with that ranking. This is my top 10 summer ranking: 1. Lakers 2. Magic 3. Celtics 4. Spurs 5. Cavs 6. Blazers 7. Nuggets 8. Hawks 9. Mavs 10. Raptors
  22. he doesnt suck..he could definitely get minutes here..I would sign him..he's 7 foot I think too..get him and Siler and we're good
  23. both names are cool but Jett Teague is better..i like that...im will call him that from now on lol good one man
  24. NBA players gon wild..but this is some funny s*** haha
