  1. Guys if you look at any advanced stats metric, Collins and Hunter are the best players on the team, next is Capela. I am confident Young can bounce back but on a true team his offense will get lost, he doesn’t know how to move if he does not have the ball on his hands every time. Defense and TO are going to be always a problem. I am not saying he is not a star or a good player but I don’t see a superstar there, I am sorry. the hype train was at full speed at the beginning of the season. Any of those players are playing better than Trae, those are not dumb trades specially when you are supposed to get something more.
  2. Lol, seems I mention the evil. Let me explain it a little bit more. I am not saying trading him for peanuts but I am beginning to think this is the highest value Trae is going to have in the league and is disappearing quick. I would definitely trade him for a young up and coming star PG as Morant, Shai, Murray or Fox. Of course I would trade him straight for Morant and I would like a little bit more for the others but I don’t see him becoming a franchise cornerstone player and I think his value is going to go down starting now.
  3. I’ll tell you why, because he is not moving at all, because is clear he is not trying, because it seems he is not believing in what he is been asked to do. We look bad and Travis need to fix this. Obvious choice is coach, there are no authomatisms on offense and is stupid, everyone takes more shots than Trae and Collins. You need to preserve the value of your team.
  4. The other big thing, it cannot happen that Collins and Young are the starters with less shots, Huerter and Goodwin cannot take more shots than them, that is stupid. They are destroying their value on the league.
  5. I said 5 games ago we should look for a Trae trade now that his value is still high and I still think I am right. If he is not in control of the ball and look for his shot or the assist, normally a hero one (either shot or assist) he does not know what to do, he is not moving, he is not cutting, is like he doesn’t know to play basketball. Is scary to be honest. The other thing you can do is change the coach but Travis needs to do something quick before the value of this team and specially our star goes down without control.
  6. What does that mean in terms of lead time? Is he out for the season?
  7. This is not looking good for the future. Trae on his own cannot win, that was clear last year. He needs a team, and a team need to be happy to win games. I find it really difficult that a team is happy if Trae keeps playing that way. I think John Collins is completely right and I am really disappointed that Trae is not taking well the critics and behaves the way he did on the last game, he needs to change. At the end which is the solution, trade whole team and face the same conversation in a year with different players? I am not the biggest fan of Collins but he is right. Mr Rondo now is your turn, meet your mentor role. The reason why I am so pessimistic is because I don’t see any reaction or indication on Trae to believe he will change, I think he will continue to behave the way he is doing things or worse.
  8. Of course is a concern, he is really a special scorer and also a great passer, he is really bad on defense but the offense overcomes the defensive deficit. But he needs to learn how to play winning basketball, how to make the best choice, how to involve the others, make the others better, how to stop taking stupid shots. Any player would be upset if you run the court on a possession and see your PG taking a 30 ft shot without sharing the ball with any player and you need to run down fast because he misses it. Is not he does it from game to game, he does it 3-5 times a game. That is stupid basketball, I know is not popular to say that but that does not mean is not true.
  9. I don't know if I am wrong or perhaps I am overeacting, I know all of you are going to come mad at me but I think we would be better if we trade Trae Young for a true star PG. His trade value is probably at his peak and honestly speaking I don't think we can build a contender around him. Is a personality concern, he is always going to chose him shining over the team, if you are Lebron and you are really dominant that might work but he is always going to be a weak undersized PG, if he choses to go on his own against the whole team looking for the hero basket even if doubleteamed he is not going to be effective enough to consistently win games, even Lebron cannot do that and I don't see him leaving that 'me first' attittude on the court. His personality somehow reminds me Russell Westbrook.
  10. This happened before I thought but I always thought was going to happen at any point. Rondo has a huge job with Trae. John is right, Trae needs to stop trying to be a hero every game, he needs to start playing to win the game and stop playing for himself. That means stop shooting those silly 3 pointers from halfcourt, stop making silly TO, stop throwing passes looking for the highlight of the day, stop playing for his stats, involve the team, begin to make wise choices... A team is better when everyone is playing well instead of just one. He is not effcient enough to enter the playoffs.
  11. Wow, fantastic effort against one of the Eastern Conference favourites. Two games, we lost one by a close margin with unbelievable percentages from his bench, Shamet and Prince, and won the second easily even though we had a bad game from Trae and key injuries in Gallo, Rondo and Okongwu. Our 2nd unit got the revenge today and finnally we were on single digit TO. There are a lot of positive things with already 5 games in the season. We are the best offense on the league, the best at FT line, the third best 3pt shooting team, the 2nd best rebounding team and surprisingly the 10th in TO. This is ridicously good considering where we were last season. Of course we need to improve defense, we are top 10 of worst defensive teams although we are one of the best 7 teams on opponent shooting percentage, best defense is Philadelphia and BKN. We are also top 8 on worst defense on Point per possesion, something I am failing to understand, how we are 22nd on opponnet points per possesion and 7th in opponnent shooting percentage. Overall is fair to assume we cannot keep our offense the way it is but it will be really improved this year. Hunter, Young and Collins are making a good year and we will have good contributions from Bogi, Gallo, Capela, Rondo, Huerter and Cam but not consistently as we are extremely deep. On defense we have shown good improvement thanks to contribution from Hunter, Cam and overall team effort but we need to continue improving. Capela's presence need to be noticed and I expect Okongwu to give some help as season goes on. If Collins and Trae can sustain their level of effort on defense, I think the goal should be to be an average team and I think we can get it. We will have bad games on defense every now and then but the effort yesterday against BKN give me hope we can also get some good defense games. With a top 8 offense and average defense we should be a playoff team, I am not expecting 60 wins as someone was suggesting, we are going to have some ugly losses but I expect us to be an above ,500 win team and that is huge considering how young we are. In a year or two if we can keep the team together we could be serious contenders, we are not there yet, enjoy the ride, is going to be fun.
  12. I stated that several times as well, Wood was the best big FA out there and I was feeling he could be signed 15m$ that finnally was the price. Considering we signed a 32 years old for 20 that will produce around the same offensively and on defense is worst Wood seemed like the best option. Additionally he would be a perfect insurance in casw Collins leaves and a better mate for Collins as he can play C as well. I don't understand why we signed Gallo instead of Wood. On the draft my top choices were Okongwu and Haliburton, we went with Oneyka but I have to admit Inam worried considering Hali production and lack of size an shooting on Okongwu. I really hope he starts playing soon and remove all my concerns. Probably he will be lost on first games.

    John Collins

I think he is a fantastic player and he makes a difference on the court offensively. We have so many options that is going to be difficult for him to have many shots on offense but he should be clearly getting more than the 9 shots he is making now. Also 24 mpg seems really low, specially without Capela. Defensively he still needs to make an impact but his defensive rating is good on the team this season, even better than with Hunter. Having said that I don't think he is any near a max player. 20m$ seems adequate to the player Collins is.
  14. There were some ugly moments yesterday, that is true but finally we got a win. After 3 games on the season these are my main conclusions. 1- Starters had a bad +/-. That also happened on most of Memphis game although they could wash that stat at the end. Hunter, Collins and Young seem to be our best players in these 3 games now but that is highly influenced by Chicago game. 2- Second unit won the game for us, that also happened at Memphis game. I am so glad Rondo and Bogi had a good game. When we add Gallo that second unit is going to be the best on the league. 3- Hunter is much improved on the court, he is shooting very efficient and is playing winning basketball but Cam is still having his ups and downs, he will figure it out but now he is still not at the point he left last season. Anyway I think the best fit for Young is Cam, always have thought the same. 4- the 2 games against BKN are key, if we are able to win one I will begin to believe perhaps we have something special. 5 - Overall I think Schlenk made a huge job, we have a really powerful 2nd unit that is bringing us on the games when things are not going well with our starters. Rondo, Huerter, Bogi and Gallo are real players that can take out of the court any 2nd unit on the league. That is going to be the most powerful weapon we have this season. I am eager to see Okongwu on the court, hopefully he is an upgrade over Bruno and can round this 2nd unit. 6- Starters still need some work, we need to improve on defense but I am not too worried.
  15. The only player that survives with that skill set in this league is Montrez Harrell and you need to be really excellent at that to survive.
  16. So, no Griffin, no Rose, no Okafor.... I really hope we win this game, if not it would be a disappointment for me against a 0-2 Pistons. Sekou Doumbouya might be out as well. Let’s hope Hayes size do not bother too much Trae.
  17. I have seen that Capela is probable and Gallo is game time call
  18. True but that does not mean they are effective, a 6’8” C that only plays on the paint and cannot play outside is not ideal in today’s league. I hope all the rumors about him practicing shooting are true and he expand his game.
  19. Jajaja, so he is... b and n are too close to the space key on my little phone
  20. Damn sonhebis listed aa 6'8" now, probably not the answer we need at C, he needs to ads shooting to his game.
  21. After looking to the highlights again, Knight looks like he is 6’8”, at some point he is near Clarke and Cam, he looks exactly as Clarke and smaller than Cam. I don’t think he is even 6’9”.
  22. The good thing about him is that he has things that immediately translates as shooting, quickness and motor. We saw that yesterday. On the defensive end I need to see him more, but he did a good block, although finally was called as a scored basket, he showed some serious athleticism there. The bad thing is that he was pulled easily by Valanciunas. On the court he look like a modern PF more than a C, he looks smaller than Bruno and Bruno is not a big C.
  23. I think he could be a decent backup PF on the league, good shooter, can defend but not big C and runs the floor well, I don’t know if he can be a roll big but overall I like what I saw yesterday. One of those gems you should keep and sign that will provide good value for minimum contract an allow you to save money for other positions.
  24. Congrats to the team for the effort. Great games by Hunter, Huerter, Knight and Trae kept us in the game on a night where Cam and Bogi played really bad. We are better team than them and it showed today. Whenever Capela, Okongwu, Gallo, Rondo and Dunn are back we should be really good. We have enough players to play when we are cold. I am a little worried with Collins, he is not at the level he was last year. Only 2 games, get in shape John. And lastly I know Trae was the hero and won the game but someone needs to teach him to stop taking those bad shots and cut those stupid Turnovers. He needs that to take Atlanta to next level. And I am asking that because I know he can do it, you need to demand results to people according to his capabilities, he can do that.
