  1. So Walmart, with a market capitalization of 338 billion dollars, does not have the resources to the test their employees? That is complete bull.
  2. I don't understand why sports leagues in particular have to have testing and precautions above and beyond that of any other business. Hospitals are not testing their nurses and doctors for Covid-19 as much as NBA is testing their players for Covid-19. Explain to me why NBA players need these monumental safeguards, which are not being employed to other businesses, and even healthcare workers. It's irrational. If you have a good answer for this inexplicable discrepancy, not cheap shots or ad hominems, I love to hear it.
  3. Unpopular opinion here, but instead of testing players, they should just do fever, wellness checks like most other businesses. If Walmart or Kroger tested their employees for Covid-19 twice a week, there would be so many positives they probably wouldn't have enough staff to stay open. Covid-19 is ubiquitous, and extremely hard to contain. I'm just not sure any business, basketball or otherwise, can operate this way.
  4. Full disclosure, I personally do not wear masks in public, I'm not sure non medical cloth masks make much of a difference. The science is not settled on that. But I would respect any business who has a policy on wearing masks, I'll put one on if need be.
  5. It's like in basketball discussions. You say "such-and-such is a good player", and I respond with "yea, but he's a lousy on-ball defender" and then you go "did I say he was good on-ball defender?" No worries.
  6. I didn't mean to offend you . You made a pro-mask post, and I was pointing out that masks are difficult for the hearing impaired. It even spurred an informative post from our moderator about accessible deaf-friendly face masks .
  7. You made a post in defense of masks, and the rights of businesses to insist on them. However, many do not realize that they cause difficulty for the hearing impaired. It's germane to the discussion.
  8. So because you're not personally hearing impaired, it doesn't matter? Not one of your better comments.
  9. It should be noted that masks are not without their downside for certain communities. Masks have been very difficult for the hearing impaired, who rely on lip reading as part of everyday communication.
  10. If a study was done you would find not that many NBA players are still growing taller at that age. There are exceptions of course, Scottie Pippen grew 7 inches his freshman year in college. But Ant Man looks like he likely has his full grown man body.
  11. It's unlikely he's growing. He has a full grown man physique. Contrary to popular belief, the majority (not all of course) of boys finish growing by age 16. But he can definitely get hella swole if he wants to. Sometimes getting real buff is not good for basketball players though.
  12. I wonder what the vibe of the games will be without fans? Might feel like practice.
  13. It also speaks to the fact no one really cares about PEDs, unless its baseball or track and field.
  14. Probably alerts the league if they leave the bubble as well. Big brother is watching.
  15. If the league were in dire straits and considered contraction, market size would be the primary factor, not the outcome of one season. Knicks sure as heck would not be among them.
  16. Um no. Contraction of the league would not happen unless it was agreed upon, which would only happen if the league was on the brink of insolvency. This rumor gets 5 pinocchios.
  17. There's probably a number of unheralded role players who would make far better spokespeople than Kyrie. But that would defy the NBA's unofficial feudal system of stars (lords) vs. non stars (serfs).
  18. Psudo-intellectual is being too kind. More like self-centered dumb-a**.
  19. According to ESPN, rules are essentially the same. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29299015/how-2020-nba-draft-lottery-works
  20. The comp I have for Ant is actually a rich man's JR Smith. The good JR Smith though, who could be very explosive in his day.
  21. Probably trying to screw LeBron. You know NBA politics is involved somehow.
  22. What if we draft Edwards? Edwards can't play the 3 either.
  23. In other words, no play, no pay. You'd think they would have a better understanding of NBA's business model.
  24. This is all negotiation leverage. Probably very few players sit out when it's all said and done.
