  1. What does this move do to Dennis Scott aka Scotty Green aka 3Deezy aka... I understand he's got a new fantasy hoops program coming up on satellite radio but I thought he was going to remain local. ~lw3
  2. I'm less intrigued by inexperienced competition for the starting PG spot, and more interested in veteran competition for the backup PG spot. Specifically a defensive option when Bibby is not the best matchup alongside either of the Crawfords. Of course, for what A$G is willing to pay, we shouldn't be surprised if that player becomes T-Lue. Or Brevin Knight. . ~lw3
  3. Currently playing behind Dwight Howard's foot-long smile is a backup 3 who was all but certain to be leaving, once Quentin Richardson signed, and might have to crawl back with a truncated salary and fewer minutes, a backup rookie center who (literally) slugged his way through his summer league opener, a backup veteran center who was told he may get his wish and get traded, and now a backup 4 who, a year removed from a free agent signing, is tired of scant minutes and demands either more minutes or a trade. ~lw3
  4. Salim Stoudamire is still available, too. http://sports.nationalpost.com/2010/06/18/raptors-camp-full-of-hope-desperation/ ~lw3
  5. Whoops! Not so fast, my friends! http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Barnes-to-Raptors-sign-and-trade-dead-?urn=nba,257020 ~lw3
  6. The "Bye Bye Bye" video parody and the interview with bas(k)e(t)ball expert Dimino probably greased the skids. ~lw3
  7. See? It's not just Joe who turned his back on us fans! ;-) ~lw3

  9. No more pre-empting with Georgia Tech hoops/football. Yay. ~lw3

  12. http://www.hoopsnotes.com/2010/07/jalen-rose-rips-mike-dantoni-on-twitter/ That'll probably set his NBA broadcasting career back a smidgen. Also, he's not a fan of the Diesel: http://www.hoopsnotes.com/2010/05/shaquille-oneal-jalen-rose-started-beef/
  13. My apologies to Jeff Teague. I overreacted earlier in the week to his 9 turnovers and suggested Jordan Crawford might be a better option to groom for the starting spot at this point. Well, Double Nickel racked up his own 9 turnovers tonight (no assists), and Teague, while not stellar throughout, displayed better control with the ball, and it's neither his nor Crawford's fault they've got a summer roster of bigs with Hands of Stone/Minds of Clay receiving their passes. With this roster as-is, I am satisfied that the Jeff Teague Experiment should continue into the fall, without any more meddling from exasperated fans like me. I would prefer, that if a vet PG is out there as an alternative to Bibby (Earl Watson was brought up earlier) that we should pursue them to split time with Bibby from the bench. But if, in reality, this is what we're forced to roll with, I feel much more comfortable seeing Teague bounce back over the past few games after a singular bad night. ~lw3
  14. "Don't Stop... Believin'..." Make sure he knows that our comedy clubs here make those of any other town look like a trip to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. APD can probably find him a liaison job or something, too, once he hangs it up. Shaunie doesn't live here at all, right? ~lw3
  15. Well if the JTX (Jeff Teague Experiment) doesn't pan out, we've got a penny-sized ex-Hawk that's probably willing to play for A$G's pennies. Glory Dayz, Well They'll Pass U By... http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/07/16/boston-aide-tyronn-lue-seeks-return-to-court/ ~lw3

  17. This. Jim O'Brien, I am putting you on notice! ~lw3
  18. Doc Rivers picked Lawrence Frank, formerly of the historically lowly New Jersey Nets, to be his replacement for Tom Thibodeau. By my estimation, that leaves some assistant spots with the Clippers as his final realistic options for sitting on an NBA bench come October. Cue the Violins! Any good openings here in town? Perhaps he'll grace us with his musings on NBA-TV next season. I'm hoping he'll try his hand at the WNBA, there should be some gigs opening soon. ~lw3

  20. I'm hoping I'm more Danny Glover than Mel, especially given the last few weeks! I'm gonna have to finally make myself watch that flick, I'm thinking that's the one with Joe Pesci cuttin' up? ~lw3
