  1. Quote: Quote: So, your trash for Yi and Milwaukee's #1? Why not just ask for Redd while you are at it? Well, Marvin was the Number 2 in draft, he is an up and coming SF. I also sent Lue, an adequate pg, and filler for someone who might just say, I will go back to china for a year and Milwaukee can lose my rights. The number 1 pick can be lottery protected like we did with JJ's, That gives us something in case Yi will not be what we think he will be. You get three players for someone who will not play for you. Seems like a good deal to me. Thats not true - at the very least it would have to be 2 seasons. The Spurs still hold Scola's rights, and it has been how many years? The Magic still have Frans. Hell, the Bulls still have Mario Austins rights and it has been like 4 years. It is all dependent on what type of contract he signed - if he doesn't sign a contract to lay overseas, the Bucks will hold his NBA rights indefinitely. Marvin was picked 2nd, but it doesn't mean he has more trade value than say a 4th pick like Paul.
  2. I think there was a - 1. 1a. .............. 3 ..4.5.6
  3. Quote: But, one thing I did hear, was Bernie vehemently deny that there was any divisiveness with the Hawks Owners over Yi. He said they all agreed with Horford, and that he had no idea how that rumor got started. Because I am sure that he would tell the truth if there was divisiveness.
  4. Quote: I went to bed Wednesday night and had a dream that we had Horford, Law, and Yi in the line-up. I have been a big Yi fan and wanted the Hawks to draft him at #3, so I found it strange that my dream had Horford in our line-up. Maybe we are going to do a deal with Milwaukee for Yi. He certainly wants out of Wisconsin. Why not send Lue, Marvin, and filler for Yi and Milwaukee's #1 next year? I believe a trade is very near. So, your trash for Yi and Milwaukee's #1? Why not just ask for Redd while you are at it?
  5. Quote: Right now, if Yi leaves, sit out a year... Milwaukee loses their rights (if I'm not mistaken).. Not entirely true. Bucks would lose their right one year after players contract is up. Meaning Yi could sign a one year contract to play in China, and then sit out a year, and then the Bucks would no longer have his rights.
  6. Quote: horford for hinrich/noah! jk duhon/noah/2008 1st Draw up the paper-work, where do I sign.
  7. Quote: With Gordon playing what position? Coming off the bench like he does in Chi Town. Gordon starts.
  8. Quote: What? We are trading two of our top guys for trash??? You are kidding Sorry, I thought the sarcasm was so painfully obvious that you'd get it.
  9. Quote: Quote: Quote: Jason Terry is the comparison I've been using all along. I don't see Chauncey Billups in Law. I still like the Sam Cassell comparison - especially for the mid-range game and clutch shooting. Same here. I also defy anyone to name a player on Texas A&M this past season without using a search engine. Well, I could probably name their starting five (of course, I did go to about a half dozen of their games...)
  10. Chicago postponed their press conference to Monday as well. Whats working here guys? I smell a Viktor Kryhapa, Chris Duhon, and Nocioni S&T for Horford and Josh Smith trade brewing...
  11. Oh, yeah - our backup C's consisted of PJ Brown and Michael Sweetney. Wallace is going to be around at most 3 more seasons, when he's done Noah can step in - until then he will play heavy minutes backing up at the 4/5 spots. Besides - he's a Paxson/Skiles guy and he wanted to play in Chicago. Maybe we screwed up, but it was a luxury pick for not having to overpay to secure the services of Fatty Curry.
  12. #3 - Mike Conley (Best PG in the draft, and a future All Star) #11 - Best Big Man Available (Noah, Hawes, Wright...)
  13. Quote: Well I can't get a response from anyone on my end so I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow I'll have something to repeat here. Its literally got my stomach in knots just thinking how close we may be getting Amare. ESPN is reporting that Phoenix wasn't (isn't) close to making the deal. That most (all) of the negotiation had been between Minny and Atlanta and that the Suns aren't interested in trading Stoudamire.
  14. Quote: At almost the same exact time on their other channel they report on the draft preview show that the Hawks aren't talking with Yi's camp because they're intent on completing a deal to get Amare. No one has any idea what in the world is happening. The draft show isn't live - it was taped earlier...
  15. Quote: "I'm not going to Alabama"...Said that exact thing about 5 different times...These guys aren't trustworthy. Nick Saban was a slimeball. Steve Kerr has earned a great deal of respect. I'm more apt to believe Steve Kerr.
  16. Quote: Quote: Steve Kerr just issued a blanket denial of any trade. From Jim Gray - Steve Kerr just said, "We are not trading Amare Stoudamire to the Atlanta Hawks. We are not trading Amare Stoudamire" So he doesn't get KG, too bad for him and that is the only way that deal would work. KG to the Suns is a pipedream now My personal opinion - at this point Amare Stoudamire is worth more than Kevin Garnett. The Suns are going to be the best team in the NBA this year - with or without Garnett.
  17. Steve Kerr just issued a blanket denial of any trade. From Jim Gray - Steve Kerr just said, "We are not trading Amare Stoudamire to the Atlanta Hawks. We are not trading Amare Stoudamire"
  18. Well thats interesting. Tat directly contradicts what has been reported earlier by the hawks insider. Wonder what happened.
  19. Quote: IIRC, a majority of owners have to sign off on the deal. In that case, it's not a problem because Amare is immensely marketable. Just a simple majority?
  20. Quote: I'm not sure what the Hawks are going to do for a PG, but I do know that Amare is still BYC. That changes on July 1st, which would explain Sothron's message about waiting a few days to clear things up. We would be drafting for the Wolves, and the KG trade would go down on July 1st (and perhaps getting an additional player from Phoenix). It's all a matter of complicated math, so perhaps Atlanta's being under the cap could make the trade possible on draft night? So Amare has 4 years left on his deal - how does that effect the Hawks management ability to do this trade? What was the ruling concerning aquiring long term contracts?
  21. Quote: Personally I like this deal fairly well, although I'd want the Sonics to sweeten the pot a bit - maybe by including someone like Saer Sene LOL - so you want them to "sweeten the pot" with a a #10 pick from last year and a starting PG for the #11 pick?
  22. Quote: Colangelo knows as well as Knight that Calderon would be a starter on half the teams in the NBA, and that he's RFA next year. Quoted for truth.
  23. Quote: OB was my 2nd rotation. I did 2 months of Family Medicine to start off. I like FM OK, but after a while, treating HTN, DM, Dyslipidemia, and Sinus Infections all the time gets a little old. Particularly when the patients don't get any better due to noncompliance or the disease process period. That's why I like surgery. When a patient comes to see me in the surgery setting, they have a specific problem. Their gall bladder for example is bad. I take out their gall bladder, have one follow up visit to make sure everything is OK, and I cut them loose. If I happen to do something dealing with general medicine, I think I will do hospital medicine or critical care medicine, where I'm in the hospital and not in the clinic. My wife is considering going into OB/Hospitalist. She wouldn't have the continuity of care, but the hours would be much more forgiving. Sorry for hijacking the thread Weez...
