  1. I agree that Craw played decent D against Houston. Maybe it's just new stuff to him and he's learning
  2. BTW, since no one mentioned it, Joe having off night, still pulled some nice assists. I also liked the fact that he passed it to Horford in transition although he could have finished by himself. Horf actually runs faster than JJ.
  3. I don't like minutes he's playing even more. He'll be shell of himself come January.
  4. I have no doubt that it's persistent. But don't expect him to play perfect, no one does. He's playing great, that's enough. He needs to improve a couple of things (free throws shooting, finishing with right hand around the rim) and he'll be 20/10/4/2.5/2 guy and our best player.
  5. Hornets won two straight games without Paul, case closed.
  6. Not for the first time. I remember interview with Deke in which he was asked about top league centers: Bynum, Shaq in Cleveland and even Perkins. And finally asked who's gonna win this season he answered: Orlando.
  7. I like that trade. Biedrins would be our 7th man playing 20-25 mins altogether with Horf at 4 for some stretches which I really want to see some day. Morrow is said to be next Ray Allen. I'd give him a try.
  8. They couldn't have picked a better guy for this role. Deke has really big heart.
  9. I understand your concerns, teams like Spurs or Houston always have someone young who shows up with a decent talent, but what future are you talking about with guy who's 26 yo? When he reaches NBA level? Even if he's useful sub, that's max than you can get from him simply because of time. Investing in young talent on the other hand can bring you future starter and the risk and cost is the same.
  10. Smoove had a down year mostly because of injury. I wouldn't say I have noticed any change in his mindset or the way he played from that perspective.
  11. Develop 26 yo PF? I'd rather develop young center and play Horf at 4 from time to time.
  12. I have a feeling that those two won't bankrupt like majority of NBA players several years after career end.
  13. lol @ Raps: 1st at offense, 30st on defense, 5-5 record.
  14. I think Marvin can guard Miller, who likes to post up PG, while Miller can't guard Marvin and we have rebounding advantage. We should stay with what has been working so far.
  15. Pace is one thing, but another reason is healthy JSmoove crashing the boards. Ooutrebound opponents in each game, that's what counts.
  16. Hawks are not a young team season wise.
  17. Yep, awaken Marvin and better 3 point shooting would make Hawks even better offensively.
  18. I don't like this kind of basketball, but like Flip, Crawford just fits here with iso driven offensive system.
  19. Boston was cold from behind the arc again.
  20. Woodson as COY thread got me thinking: can we say loud that Hawks are contenders this year?
  21. Exactly. The list of not so great coaching Woodson applies is long enough not to praise him as a top coach in the league. It's not hating. It's just like JJ doesn't deserve MVP award even if Hawks end up with best the record in the entire NBA. Woodson can't be credited for Smith's transformation - he couldn't get into his head for 5 years. But I don't mind praising the coach when the team is winning. He manages rotation quite well (hope he'll rest JJ tonight). He should be credited for making Joe team leader (although he's not the right personality for that role), praising defense, rebounding, commending aggressiveness and driving the ball to the rim. As long as Hawks are winning Woody won't be that much criticized as he used to be.
  22. Both Js even when they draw double team try to score anyway, esp. Joe. This time the ball was falling and we had rebounding advantage. And you can safely leave Crawford wide open behind 3 pt line, he's not good perimeter shooter. Well this applies to JJ this season so far.
