  1. For me dunk contest is more about creativity than just plain athleticism. I appreciate Dwight in that regard, his sticker dunk is one of my favorites. Howard, Fernandez, LBJ, Igoudala, maybe Rudy Gay.
  2. :offtopic2: Josh is so good passer. With better handles he could play point forward like Turk.
  3. Smoove already tries to gain a possession out of each block. He's the best in the league in that IMO.
  4. @Hou Close win. Talent wise we're head and shoulders above them. They will hustle all day long, but it's not enough to beat 09-10 Hawks. @SA Loss. Wining streak on the road is still not a habit for Hawks. Spurs are fundamental sound team, they take care of the ball and have maybe best penetrating PG in the league. vs Bos Win. Hawks have their number. Season sweep. @Orl Another blow out. They have our number. Season sweep. @OKC Close win. Better offensive execution esp. in the paint is the key. I think 3-2 will be success, these are all tough games.
  5. +1 I did review of 2000-2009 billboard number ones some time ago and 90% of those "songs" is so shitty that's it's scary. I mean Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat" has over 66millis of views on YT and counting.
  6. Over 3 TOs / game, 9 in last one? He wouldn't get many touches in Hawks but man.
  7. Orlando has bigger problem with Vince having health issues, being lazy, and thus inconsistent. The whole team can't find offensive rhythm, Lewis played well only in a couple of games. Dwight has problems with fouls, more because of referees not treating him equally with other players than anything else.
  8. Switch defense, when applied properly, is a good weapon. All the whining came from situations when after switching Bibs was isolated against bigger opponent, so it wasn't switch d that was criticized, but bad execution.
  9. Hakeem is so gifted. He would still put up big numbers. Nice vid.
  10. Woody must be reading HS. Just a couple days ago I wrote that Smoove should be rested and voila! Hunter gets 8 minutes of action. Another positive thing is Horf hitting consistently midrange jumpshots. This could be major weapon against Orlando. Even if he misses we have Josh and Marv to clean the glass with Howard away from the basket. And I totally agree about Craw rushed shots. There's no worse play on offense except trunover than taking jumpshot early in the clock when your teammates are not prepared to go for rebound. Esp. when team is trying to maintain the lead.
  11. That's good point but the big if. Well playing Teague could give Hawks advantage over Magic since they don't have anyone who can match his quickness.
  12. Marvin is playing better as of late. He's making shots, hustling, playing decent defense, rebounding (14 against Dallas) as he used to be, just not attacking the rim. He's getting less touches in offense since Smoove is Hawk's primary inside force now.
  13. I have impression that he's shorter plus he has relatively big head. But it might be that he's not short for a PG so I'm simply wrong here. Anyway, we'll see how well he'll play tonite.
  14. Howard destroyed us in last game, they killed us with 3 pointers last season (won with around 40 point difference that night) and I have no doubt that VC still can put up his usual show against Hawks once or twice during play off series. It might be enough to beat us. But the biggest key for Hawks is to stay healthy and energetic for off season.
  15. Exactly. Of the strong teams in the East we match up the worst against them.
  16. The way JJ gets with the ball to his favorite spots is exceptional this year. He knows where he feels comfortable and he goes there at will. Also his inside game is just great. He could average much more ppg with slightly lower FG% but he prefers to share the ball, kudos to him for that.
  17. I agree to some point but Toronto had good second half last season and they were supposed to be a PO team with Hedo. It appears that Marion's rebounding and high FG% > Turk's playmaking skills in that case. As for JJ I've got a feeling that he's hoping for offer from teams looking to stop other big FAs (LBJ, Wade, Bosh) from going away, to join the contender or make contender out of decent team.
  18. Whenever Teague gets more than 10 mins of play he shows up. His ability to split the double team is exceptional, he did it three times against Toronto surprising even his teammates. He has quick release and quick hands looking for steal. He has potential to be a starter in the future. He's short but most of young PGs are. He has nice court vision and even his passes are lightning quick. This kid is also competitive. When he lost the ball he came back and stole it to regain possession. Edit: and overall great win, the score was never in question in second half. Mo shoot the lights out and he got more minutes than Crawford. I liked that move from Woody.
  19. Don't forget that we have very steady core. I think Smith still leads team in trunovers per minute (and even more per touches).
  20. So, Orlando lost both games and feel Hawks' breath on their backs. Rivers does outstanding job managing Garnett's minutes despite having only one legit big on the bench. Big Ticket plays 30 mins per contest, the least since his rookie season, but is very efficient on offense (15.5 points on career high 56%).
  21. Agreed but I'd like to see Hunter giving Smoove a little more rest.
  22. After last two wins I have a little more respect for coach Woodson. I mean I see all those shortcomings. What he propose are not the best options but decent ones and as long as he controls starters minutes he does good job most of the time. Not great, but good. Does it mean he should get an extension? It depends. If Hawks can get a better coach, why not? But if management doesn't have really good alternatives in sight, they shouldn't hesitate. Bringing back JJ is much more important anyway so in regards of coaching anything possible should be done to please him.
