  1. Bruh. Did we even play a full great game the whole series? This team is so f&@kin gritty man I love em. Lets go.
  2. Such a well scouted defensive move by Gallo. Film Gallo.
  3. This is like when DeMarre was the best player in the first round for the 60 win team. Kevin slick the X factor in this series.
  4. It’s cool. Should’ve gotten up a few more threes and I’m sure that’s the worst FT shooting performance from the team under Nate. Maxey shouldn’t go crazy on us again and even if hurt I expect Bogi to atone for his poor play all series (88 offensive rating, ugh). Wish Cam was here with the sole role of ball denying Curry. He’s basically been their savior. I rarely question the lineups coaches choose. I’m just not very perceptive at it. But for those who can am I tripping wanting OO to take a chunk out of Capela’s minutes with the first unit? He’s been a fish out of water all series against Embiid. I’d take my chances with Onyeka positively effecting the game through drawing fouls and converting at the line, the two areas we aren’t getting anything from Clint.
  5. I think this crazy avatar Spud made me get has some Juju. It was only supposed to be for a month but I ain’t changing it till the Hawks bow out.
  6. Usually Trae only averaging 2 boards would hurt (and I’d bitch about it) but the way the team is rebounding I don’t sweat it. Those couple he usually tracks down after hitting the floor are just being gobbled up earlier by his mates because playoffs. I’m sure it’s by design the staff doesn’t want him sticking his nose in too much with the size Philly has at the 1 and 5. What I’m impressed with is doubling his career steal average in a semifinals. That’s HUGE when we’ve been out-scored throughout the series. Kevin’s ball pressure skills rubbing off on him, Bogi, and OO.
  7. It’s proved to be a razor thin margin between these two teams. Trae and Embiid virtually nullify each other; piling up stats and fouls drawn. The slim difference in personnel is we can depend on 3 bench guys (OO, Lemon Pepper, and Red Velvey). They can only rely on 2 (Thybulle and Dwight). Shake is surely a likable player but simply not ready for playoff ball beyond a moment here and there and George Hill got one foot in retirement. Just a reminder our old buddy Molly Mike Scott is still alive and well. We’re extremely lucky to be up when they’re shooting so much better than we are overall, mainly driven by Seth’s comical eFG of .797. Our edge is Nate is unquestionably a superior manager to Doc and Trae is a late-game master while Simmons is almost unplayable. My tune hasn’t changed all series; three point variance and free throw conversion will sustain us, staying even on the boards and winning the turnover margin will take us home. Law of averages says Thybulle won’t hit any more threes and we maintain a halftime lead to the finish line. LET’S GO Martin Luther Kings!

I never knew Gallo to be a guy who studies film defensively but it seems he has on Embiid. Embiid looks tentative and hesitant at times when facing Gallo. Like it was stated in the Clint thread the threat of committing a charge is much higher with Gallo than Clint who has been cleared out of his space by Embiid all series.
  9. Gallo has indeed paid dividends in helping on Embiid. We all knew Clint would struggle versus Embiid but he’s really hurting with the lack of fouls drawn (1.4 FT attempts per). He is driving our offensive rebounding edge though so I won’t trip.

I had to reach back to dust this thread off lol. Shout out to Gallo though. Leading the team in true shooting with only 2 turnovers in the series (resulting in a team-leading 137 rating) with 6 boards per to boot. He picked a perfect time to play his best ball I swear. Has anyone noticed his screening? I haven’t been studying it but it has to be good.
  11. Great look. That’s exactly why his offensive rating is 122 for the series. Leading the team in total rebound, steal, and block percentage as well. Lil bro came in a polished role player. As his dribble/ pass/ shoot profile improves its just gonna be all steak gravy.
  12. Yeah that makes sense. Still don’t make it hurt any less lol. But was SMU considered a power school at the time tho? My knowledge of that school is a hazy picture of Larry Brown thuggin and the football program also thuggin.
  13. Never thought I’d hear that name again. If the lure of being a part of a budding Golden State dynasty couldn’t get him right he just wasn’t cut out. The sight of him just always made me think he bought palettes of honey bun boxes off the truck. Sweeeeet.
  14. My god. Whoever that GM was should live in infamy even after death. I always think about what Billy Knight is up to. That man live in Poland somewhere probably. Rightfully.
  15. You can’t make a blunder bigger than Marvin over CP3. I know Marvin had a long career and all while other high picks busted soon after being drafted but we talking 65 career win shares to 169. Chris Paul would skunk Marvin in a game of 21 at half his size. For all my millenials that means he’d win 21 to 0 lol. Do young people still play 21 anyway?
  16. I can imagine the Ben Simmons hate is at an all time high in Philly. 2-4 from the field, 4-14 from the line. The Sixers clearly have no developmental arm and don’t care. It’s no surprise with Morey and Doc but I figured Elton a serious basketball guy. The old Bud University would at least have him at a respectable NBA level. He’s currently a division 2 shooter. If they lose this series I’m pretty sure he’s gone. Either by requested trade or not. Drunken Philly fans gonna be burning his jersey on the local news and what not. Hell Stan got canned 1 year in I wouldn’t be surprised if Doc came looking for an assistant job under Nate next season. We good tho champ.
  17. Dwight ain’t never been the sharpest tool in the shed. The way OO maximizes his limited role shows how intelligent he is. Dwight always used to pile turnovers foolishly begging for touches with a primitive post game. You could double him so easily knowing he couldn’t pass nor hit free throws. In the series OO is perfect from the line with 1 turnover. I love Melo and lamented not taking Halliburton. Still can’t be any more satisfied with Colonel Schlenk’s selection. Between assisting on the selections of the Warriors core and this one, this man is the new Jerry West without the glitz.
  18. I read “The Force” as a kid. I guess it’s similar to “The Secret” but more of a scientific slant/ no religion. There’s no way to prove the “law of attraction” is real in human sociology and psychology based on the scientific method but it’s great to live your life in that fashion. The best advice I can give someone is try to keep only cotton fabrics on your skin, don’t wear acidic colors, and banish negative thoughts from your mind when anger isn’t helpful. And of course eat from the Earth as much as possible. As far as these Hawks they stopped surprising me some time ago. I think they're gonna kick everyone’s ass. Nate just has a genius level mix of old and new school ideals in his philosophy and this chemistry is almost at Pre-KD Warriors level. If the assists were +25 a night they’d be there. A lot of athletes pay lip service to playing till the end with “gotta get 27 outs, we gonna grind for 60 minutes/ till the buzzer” This team IS that ideal.
  19. I don’t listen to anything NBA related, predictive or reactionary, if the clock ain’t running during a live game. Only like 5% of all the pundits really know hooping and can intelligently express themselves. There isn’t even such a thing as choke jobs from losing huge leads anymore that sh*t is so common in today’s NBA. I respect Jay’s mind a great deal and I don’t know why Zach Lowe isn’t on television. Always been a Sam Mitchell fan. Outside of that I’m super straight.
  20. Some key series numbers: Ben Simmons 15% usage I think holding Harris down has been the main key on Nate’s board. You know what you’re gonna get usually from Seth and Joel, and what you aren’t going to get from Simmons. I think the Sixers go as Harris goes. Usually a great slasher, 9 free throw attempts shows his aggressiveness has been all but eliminated. Doc just forgets about getting him involved sometimes, good for us especially after thinking missing Dre was gonna be big with him. The other guys have done very well limiting him, namely John with the +6 overall rating. He has become so smart with playing outside the stat sheet I been here for it. OO with a +20 rating, Gallo with +16. They’re the hidden keys as to why were winning threes and keeping pace on the boards. The FT shooting and turnover edge is mostly Ice Trae The MF Game (also a +6 rating). The fact that his defense hasn’t really hurt at all in 5 games is just mind blowing to me. Part of it is very poor guard play on their end by anyone not named Curry, most of it is Trae manning up.
  21. I think it’s a huge factor. There’s no way a team with an MVP candidate, playoff experience, and at the prime average age of 27 should be struggling to a team, albeit with a playoff MVP candidate, with no experience and 2 years younger on average. This is just Nate outcoaching Doc by a significant margin.
