  1. I dont care if it was bad call are not, as soon as Kev got the ball on the break I yelled dont turn it over because of how lose his dribble was, and sure enough, the defender knocks it lose. The young guys have to be more aware against scrappy veteran teams. They all have very active hands.
  2. Regardless of the score I feel like this is some of the better defense we have played. Turnovers, offensive rebounds and free throws have helped the Raptors get easy looks, but in the half court we have looked pretty good.
  3. Trae's on ball defense has been superb tonight. He is dancing around screens with ease.
  4. Facts. Toronto is climbing up the standings fast, though, and are now tied with us. They are a legit team to keep an eye on after a slow start to season. Gritty, tough, well coached, and balanced. Im waiting for Miami to pick it up as well and get in to the play in mix. They are my dark horse. Us, Cleveland, Charlotte and NYK are all in a similar tier of fringe teams.
  5. In the case of Dre, Bogi, and Dunn, it is/was injury. Everyone else I feel like they are being overly cautious. And a little soft if you ask me.
  6. They have officially coached Cam in to a trash defender making him go over every screen now instead of choosing the best angle. Going to be a long night if Donovan is going to get clean looks with no hand in his face.
  7. This season is ass when it comes to health.
  8. Snell needs to get some of Cam's minutes if he is going to be Ice Cold like he is most games. I love Cam, but literally 2 more buckets could have won us the game. Also, I dont care what anyone says, if they would have let the defenders go under the screens on Luka, we would have shut them down. We kept going over, even when we were at a clear disadvantage to do so, and it allowed Luka to get in to the teeth of the defense at the free throw line and pick us apart. Instead of having a 29% 3pt shooter shooting threes, we gave him the mid range for free. And if we stepped up to cut off his drive (because his defender was still behind him) He was able to drop the ball off to the open man without any difficulty. It was so obviously in the gameplan. I dont like that. I want the defenders to have the freedom to adjust when the opponent catches on to how we are guarding him. Luka was living in the middle of our defense rent free last night.
  9. And that is just the last two minutes. Let's not forget the early fouls that allowed Dallas to jump out and put Trae in foul trouble. I have never seen so many ticky tack fouls on one end while they let the opponent beat up a star player on the other. There was unintentional bias going on with those refs last night where they just assumed from jump that we didn't know how to play basketball without fouling. It was sickening and quite frankly Im tired of just taking it. I really need us to start getting fined by calling out these ref in the press.
  10. Im getting fluent in Hawks injury communication. I almost didnt even check back because I knew there would be no updates today.
  11. Gallo has it going tonight! With our luck he will probably stub his toe before the 4th and miss 2 weeks.
  12. Dallas is an ok team. Not particularly good this season. But they are well coached. And we struggle against well coached teams. They are executing their plan to stop Trae wayyy better than we are executing ours to slow Luka.
  13. Damn coach, why is Cam going over on screens against a guy who shoots 29% from 3? Let the go under and cut of the penetration. Make Luka prove himself from 3 tonight.
  14. Use the challenge LP. Cant let the refs get away with free points Cant let the blitz get us out of good offense.
  15. Lol Facts! Sidenote, that's the same Caleb Colossus from Rhythm and Flow on Netflix.
  16. Lakers are the Faves no matter what the records or standings say. Clips, Jazz, and Nuggets are all hungry and will make for a great western playoffs. In the East there are no clear cut faves but you have to think only 4 teams are in the mix. Sixers, Nets, Celts, Bucks in that order if you ask me. Celts and Bucks are trying to break through the glass ceiling after falling short the last few years. Meanwhile Sixers and Nets are looking like they leapfrog the pack this season as the last 2 teams standing in the East. Sixers finally have the coaching to match up with their talent. Celts have no depth, but come playoff time their 7/8 man group is as beyond solid enough to get it done. Hawks are trying to figure out if we are truly in the 2nd tier with Indy, or if we are in the play-in, fringe group with Cavs, Hornets, and the other teams trying to break in for the first time.
  17. Why Coach, why let us get down 10. Timeout should have come sooner it was clear we had nothing going.
  18. We already knew that though. He had a huge learning curve coming in to the league. The thing about Edwards, which I find curious, is that he doesn't have the same hype a most #1 overall picks do. Nobody was ever saying he is the second coming. So, to me, there is less pressure on the kid. He can, and should, take his time to develop his skills for this level. If done correctly, and not forced to do too much too soon, he can develop nicely in a few seasons to be a sound, physical two way impact player, with show stopping athleticism. However, unfortunately for the T'Wolves, I dont see a scenario in which he turns out better than Ball, which is enough to make you question the pick.
  19. Is there a general consensus on what metrics are acceptable to measure our offensive and defensive rankings? In different categories we range anywhere from #6 defensively to somewhere in the late teens. I'm just curious what to look out for and hold on to.
  20. Just realized I was going off of the games back math and Boston would hold a win % tiebreaker in both scenarios.
  21. Pacers lost today. A win against the Lakers puts us in a 3-way tie for 4th. If Bucks lose to Portland and we win, it becomes a 4-way tie for 3rd place. Lets beat L.A.!
  22. I feel like Lebron routinely misses games against us. Oh well.
  23. Im reading the thread wondering why nobody was thinking this. It was pretty obvious choice if you ask me. Hill will still get heavy backup minutes, and hopefully Snell becomes a factor too. I think this may allow more minutes for OO honestly, with Hill getting less PF minutes, and Gallo getting more of Hills PF minutes, that opens us backup Center minutes for the rook.
