That’s not being sensitive, that is being smart to keep BS away

I tell people all the time, it’s not always about being right or wrong, its about protecting your own peace and happiness. If Trae responded to Nate’s ultimatum by still showing up for his team, then we have a real conversation about Nate’s status running this team. But he didn’t. He took the bait and made an impulsive and selfish decision. One that he should have known would only create waves and headlines eventually. Being the bigger person would have given Trae more support within organization. Neither is right in this situation. Trae does not get any credit just because Nate “started it.”

This article was written after the Nuggets game but before any of these reports came out. I thought about posting it yesterday but decided not to, but I think it goes hand in hand with today’s drama https://soaringdownsouth.com/2022/12/03/atlanta-hawks-trae-young-john-collins/amp/
  4. Agree, Griffin has a slow release but he has likely been aware of this for his entire life and has adapted on how to create the necessary time/space to get clean look on his shots.
  5. Can we chalk this up as a tossaway game then? A complete lineup of: DJM, Holiday Griffin, Martin Vit, Bogi JJ, Frank Clint, OO
  6. Umm, did anyone see this: https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/basketball/news/hawks-bogdan-bogdanovic-officially-active-friday/ Bogi is active tonight apparently
  7. I’m a lot higher on Martin than most, he has a really solid all around game and is extremely smart. He’s a rookie but he is not young. He is the same age and Trae and Dre and has an advanced feel for the game. I think given the opportunity next to rotation players like Trae and DJM and not just in mop up duty, he will really show his ability. His floor is Skylar Mays, but bigger and more explosive. I had him on AJ’s level coming in to the season, but closer to his ceiling as is than AJ, whose ceiling is much higher.
  8. Not sure what we end up doing about the big man rotation but with the reserves we will likely play I can see our shooting and ball movement really improving. There should be some clean looks and lots of cutting tonight.
  9. Martin will ball out if given minutes. Im not as worried about the wings as I am with the frontcourt. That’s 4 of our top 5 listed as out, leaving OO as the last big standing.
  10. Just as anyone could have predicted based on our past luck with injuries, the moment there is a glimmer of hope that Bogi is close to a return, we have two major players go down. Dre, the word coach used “recurrance” of a previous issue worries me because of his historically slow healing process. They let him play through it despite soreness and he was unable to protect himself from re-injury. Even though it doesn’t “look” that bad, I am prepared for them to now proceed with an abundance of caution and hold him out until fully recovered. JC, he has a sprained ankle, it was clear as day, he will miss a few games at least and possibly more. He usually plays through pain, but a turned ankle is a turned ankle, and this isn’t the playoffs. He will have to sit out at least a week if we are lucky, likely two, and potentially longer. But no worries, in a few days Bogi will be upgraded to questionable. I ask for the 3rd year in a row will we ever see this squad fully healthy? Probably not.
  11. Was Martin stuck in College Park? Would have loved to see him play
  12. Im excited for you as a new basketball fan. Welcome to the club. Sounds like we need to give Krejci some rotation minutes to help with out outside shooting. Especially since teams just play zone against us to slow us down. Far be it for Nate to go against his rotations and place 5 shooters on the floor to make teams pay. That would almost be too much to ask.
  13. Murray’s assists and rebounding have fallen off a cliff. I need him to contribute to winning basketball no matter how his shooting goes. He can impact the game in so many ways, I want him to play like it.
  14. Are we in the midst of another one of our patented early season losing slumps where we burry ourselves in a hole until the All Star break when we decide to turn it around and play better? I sure hope not, but our general ineptitude on how to finish winnable games suggests that we are up to our old ways again.
  15. Any updates on Bogi? Sure would be nice to see him this season. He is on that Kris Dunn recovery schedule.
  16. Good to see after a full offseason of focusing on what happened to us in the playoffs we still can’t beat a Miami zone. Bad habits die hard. We have no ball movement and can’t do anything against a well coached, set defense.
  17. How long have we been in the penalty and not attacked the rim?
  18. Some bad possessions man. Get down hill or get off the ball. Stop all this dancing and chucking. We gone learn man…. Some day
  19. Of all the plays Nate should’ve challenged this season and he goes for that one. Okay
  20. Ever since the dust up we been playing with our food tryna clown these youngins. We should’ve been the more mature group and put them away, instead we kept clowning around. Now we have a ballgame
  21. Bad basketball right now. Left the door wide open for a hungry team
  22. I really want the defense to finish strong
  23. A Holi has some real Pit Bull moments for us on defense. I think he will definitely have a spot as the 10th man, situational defender going forward. 2nd unit of: AHol Bogi AJ JJ OO Bogi and OO will have their minutes locked. The other 3 will have to adjust as needed game to game.
  24. We are definitely a team still trying to figure out some new roles. 1 new starter, and only 1 returning bench player until we get Bogi back. 50% of the rotation is brand new. We are going to continue to have a learning curve. I think the best sign is that we are still finding ways to win games as we work things out. Also, defense travels. We have the luxury of having a solid defense while our shots aren’t falling. That speaks volumes about our growth and lends itself to our best basketball being in front of us.
