  1. Just so we are clear. Ben Simmons issues run much deeper than his blown layup moment against us. He has been criticized for a lack of competitiveness and willingness to be coached up since he was in High School. https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/ben-simmons-2016-nba-draft-scouting-report-photo-givony-drama-reaction-sixers His talent level is out of this world, which is why at every level people think that they can fix his issues and turn the lightbulb on for him. But since he has started making millions it has become less and less of a priority for him to actually put winning first. BB breakdown explains very well his issues and how he is basically a center who doesn't know it yet. He makes a good point that some of his assists are not because he is making a good play, but because he is passing up his own scoring opportunities afraid of getting fouled and going to the line. Y'all keep thinking that we are over hyping his issues but he played next to an MVP level center who could also step out and hit perimeter shots. He had an elite 3 point shooter in Curry next to him. Another great shooter in Danny Green. Even that was not enough spacing to hide him on offense. Y'all think the box-and-1 was bad versus Miami, imagine the zoning that will happen when you can guard either of CC/OO and Simmons with just one defender in the paint splitting the difference between the 2 because they both want to get to 5 feet before taking a shot.
  2. What scares me about Simmons more than his shooting is his mental state. Dude actually can shoot the ball as shown by many workouts. He literally has a mental block that keeps him from shooting in games. This isn’t hyperbole either. It’s like he has a phobia. So even if he does want to be here, the fans will eventually turn on him when he starts passing up shots in big moments. Its why his teams constantly under achieve. For 10 million dollars less, JC will hit that open corner 3 while we are making a comeback in the ECF game 1. Simmons will think twice about an open layup. You can’t make this stuff up, the kid is mental right now.
  3. Nope, you nailed it. Not to mention he hasn't played in a year and has a mystery back injury to recover from. The only fit is that Trae apparently is on board with Simmons. Maybe he knows something we don't, but that's the only reason we keep showing interest in him.
  4. I can see a 3 team trade happening if the options are really that limited for KD and the Nets.
  5. I got you; 4- Won't shoot 5-Can't shoot Just terrible, smh
  6. Why do people keep proposing trades that bring in Ayton and still leave us with Clint on the roster? Are we really planning to have a 20 mil per year backup center on the roster and start OO at the 4?
  7. Agreed. Bogi is more injury prone and slower. But man, when he is on, he can go bizerk and is borderline All-Star level. His peaks have proven to be much more reliable and consistent than Kevin’s. Kevin just has youth, durability as of late, size and quickness over Bogi. If I had to win a game today I’d want Bogi 10/10 times. But for the future it’s Kev. Kev really needs to get his ish together and stop playing like he is afraid of contact. He needs to find a groove and maintain it.
  8. I think we are doing too much at this point. There are no upgrades out there for us at PF. We have only been linked to Centers via trade. I don’t see how we add a 30 million dollar center to the roster and keep Capela. Yet somehow it’s still JC we are focusing on. We have too many wings and only one starting caliber PF. What are we really talking about here? We could literally just bring back Wright right now and be done tweaking. We would still have the flexibility to make moves as needed during the season if we don’t like the available trades. Trae, Wright, Coop Murray, Bogi, Martin, Mays Dre, Kev, AJ JC, JJ CC, OO We have a need for some reserve bigs but that’s about it.
  9. Skip has made a career out of hating Lebron. Trae is in good company.
  10. JCrossover was a huge impact to Murray. Says he is basically a big brother/mentor.
  11. Hell, I knew Ressler and Schlenk had to be on here when we drafted Cam Reddish. I was like ain’t no way, we never had a FO actually select a player that we all wanted before. Not since Horford and Acie Law. (Yes, don’t act like ALL of us didn’t think he was the next DWade lol) Even resigning Solo and Lou last summer was a little too good to be true. I’ll take credit (shame) for the Kris Dunn signing. I was pushing his bandwagon heavy that offseason. My bad y’all
  12. @JayBirdHawk you are the only woman I know who can both make me laugh and make me think. You also do a good job of keeping me in check. I’m just saying, what’s good? Wifey material all day! Lol
  13. You say “get with the times” as if we don’t currently live the small ball, pace and space, DPS-era. At least one of the 2 starting bigs on every roster can hit an outside shot. Majority of teams like to play 4 out and some even like 5 out. There were times during the finals where GSW has all 5 players on or above the 3pt line. You know your stuff, but you also let your opinion get you carried away sometimes. Yes, in a vacuum, all teams would like 5 players that can play offense AND defense. Yes, defense is important. But there is not 1 single team in the Association whose 4 and 5 both cannot shoot outside of the paint. Even the Cavs who start 3x 7-footers, all but 1 of them can play on the perimeter. Thats not opinion. Thats not being a casual. Thats the way the game is being played. You sir, need to get with the times. Not the other way around Standing by for you to go completely off the rails in your reply.
  14. I agree. A trio of JC, Ayton, and OO work together in any combination you choose. OO certainly would get a minutes bump in that scenario. I don’t see the same thing being possible with CC, OO and JC, but if you’re Supes then it works.
  15. Well, good news, if you believe Supes, JC has no interest around the league. I hope Schlenk isn’t trying to move him just because, and only wants equal value in return. Otherwise, he is still a welcome and valuable piece of the team.
  16. It’s time to patch up that relationship with JC. Be like “You know I was just fooling around right? You always been my main man pots and pans, you know this baby!”
  17. I hope we keep JC now, lose Bogi, and bring back Wright. At center, I don’t care if it’s Capela or Ayton. SG was the biggest weakness on the team. Not anymore. We are above average at every position right now. No need to screw it up unless it is a no brainer type move.
  18. My new talking point: Murray >>>> Simmons Same production minus 5 inches of locker room drama. And way cheaper (for now)
  19. For anyone who may have doubts about Murray, I will say this: dude is literally a better player today than Ben Simmons was whenever he last played a basketball game. They are almost the same except for these glaring differences: 1. Murray is a willing and able shooter away from the basket 2. Murray is not a headcase, nor entitled, nor detrimental to the locker room. He is tough minded and a leader. I also predict he will be an enforcer for Trae and lose it on the next opponent that tries to bully him. 3. Murray did not just sit out a full calendar year because of a sprained ego, I mean back. 4. For the time being, Murray costs us less than half of Ben’s price tag. Oh, and 5. Ben is 5 inches taller. The height is ALL that Ben has on Murray, who defends and rebounds just as well. So, if you were ok with trading the farm away for a Max contract Ben Simmons, you should be over the moon about this Murray deal. Equal player, half the price, no drama, and we keep all of our core players in tact for the time being. Schlenk, you did your thing my guy. Congrats, and welcome aboard DJM!
  20. Too many rumors and it’s got all of us in our heads. We haven’t even gotten to FA yet. It’s going to be a long off season. I’ll say this. The only move I am against is trading JC for a scrub and a pick. I’m good with pretty much everything else as reported. Let’s see where everything falls from here.
  21. Tucker’s teams have been the only ones able to eliminate Trae and the Hawks. Something to keep in mind. It’s not like the Sixers lack talent. They really have lacked heart. Tucker is going to help give them an edge.
  22. Nah it’s all in the past now. And do you not remember that 40 foot bomb he hit against the Heat one series? He had a few good playoff moments. Good news is, we aren’t trading for Murray to be our top guy like we did with Joe. He will be number 2. Imagine if Joe was that good but only the 2nd best player on those teams behind a legit superstar that scared the crap out of opponents. Need I say more? Lol
  23. I remember thinking we paid a hefty price to bring in Joe Johnson, especially since he was just a role player with the Suns. Sometimes, these things work out better than numbers and analytics could ever predict based on past circumstantial proof. There is a reason why Pop, one of the best head coaches in the history of the game, is asking for so much for Murray. And I guarantee it’s not based on PER and W/S or anything else. He has his hands on the kid since day 1 and realizes what his ceiling is. Murray is still ascending and is already more accomplished than Joe was when we went after him. Consider how much people on here devalued Lavine, DeRozen, Booker and others. Just saying, what looks expensive now may look like a bargain later.
  24. Spurs doing the same thing they did before the draft by leaking a bunch of noise to drive up the price. Gallo’s deadline is like draft day all over. Cost changes the moment his contract is goes definite. Pop being an A-hole because he is butthurt about losing Murray
  25. Yumm. I love to hear that. I still doubt we will want to pay all 3 though (Bogi, Kev, Dre).
