  1. Dont want to sound like a hater but it was very pitiful series, outside of the 1st half of game 3, for Horford. Averaged 11/4 while providing no rim protection and getting worked by the cavs frontline.
  2. they also been averaging a double digit rebounding advantage for the entire series.
  3. if you want to believe in the star-less model, fine. However, you cant not overcome lacking a star while overcoming a HUGE rebounding deficit, while overcoming a lack of post play, while overcoming a lack of shot creation on the wings. that is extremely unrealistic to the point that its delusion.

in terms of bench production in the playoffs our bench is ranked 13th out of 16th http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball/fantasy/nba/teamstats/15/7/eff/8-1
  5. when you see that all of our bigs are 6,9 jump shooters. I dont see how a 7,2 monster can not contribute just by being on the court.

I completely agree I would of taken anyone else on the hawks bench besides mike scott. he cost us the game.

I do remember a short stretch when he checked in he immediately gave up like 3 offensive rebounds in a row then shortly after he got his shot blocked and the ball bounced on his head out of bounds. He was getting embarrassed out there. Im guessing thats what got him benched.
  9. f*** dellevadova. I hope before this series is over, elton brand comes in and gets a couple of hits on him.
  10. they are DESTROYING us on the offensive glass. There is no other series that screams we need a legit big than this one.
  11. then try someone else, Muscla, PERO anyone! He was killing us out there. chucking 3 after 3, giving tristan thompson an and 1, letting a completely grabable ball go out of bounds and giving back to the cavs.
  12. mike scott was COMPLETELY useless. He was chucking 3's and didnt make 1 and was terrible on defense. Why was he in the game? Edit: and he didnt even bother grabbing the ball that was going out of bounds.
  13. i agree with teague needing to step up but I have gone ad nausem about his inconsistency. Who really needs heat right now is our "all star front court". They are on the clock, millsap expires this off season, and horford expires next season. There is no excuse for tristan thompson and timothy mozgov to be negating/outplaying our frontcourt. They need to prove to me they are worth keeping together long term and both are worth the 15 mil per + salary they will be receiving. if these "all stars" cant outplay role players, no way Im keeping them together.
  14. so the article is saying that it starts by drafting a star in the lottery. mmmhh
  15. The problem I have with monroe is that he is a tweener PF/C. he cant guard either mobile PFs but isnt strong enough to guard Cs. He has stone feet and cant guard the pick and roll and has poor awareness. He has zero range on his jumpshot and his development has been very stagnant since he came into the league so I question whether he will ever get any better. So basically he is a non shooting, non defending, nonathletic big which have little value in todays NBA.
  16. Our play in the whole 2nd half of the season is good enough evidence to show that this team isnt all that good.
  17. I dont think we are purposely abandoning our ball movement on offense. Teams have game planned and have scouted our plays and we are struggling to break down and create any separation from the the defense which leads to very stagnant offense. Edit: the 1 thing I will give Bud heat for is his head scratching rotations
  18. i mentioned this over -collapsing, over-helping, style of defense during the nets series. I think that we have this scheme because we have an extremely undersized frontcourt with no rim protection. I know horford can block some shots but he isnt strong enough to stop a force like lebron james at the rim.
  19. this isnt a true contending team. We just dont have enough talent, our post season play tells us so. We struggled against an inferior 8th seeded nets team, a 5th seed wizards with john wall missing games, and we are getting annihilated by a extremely short handed cavs team. this team has overachieved and has reached its ceiling given how this team is currently constructed, Not to mention this core is reaching their 30's are suppose to be in their primes right now so this is the best u are going to get from them.
  20. http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2015/5/21/8637065/kyle-korver-shooting-breakdown-cold-nba-atlanta-hawks also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQOZfKJYJXs
  21. I agree he should be kept but going after a better scoring/play making wing that can create when we go on long scoring droughts like we have this post season should be a bigger priority.
  22. If he is demanding 15 mil i would easily let him go, we need an overall talent upgrade anyway, spending 15 mil is too much for a SF with his skill set and at his age.

    We will win

this is the best season in atlanta hawks history, we overachieved like crazy given the talent on this team. Not even the biggest homer could of predicted we would win 60 games and be in the ECF. if we had a some star studded team I could understand your dissatisfaction.
  24. Watching these playoffs I realized that we just don't create enough easy shots when the defense tightens up. (The announcers said we shot 38% in the playoffs during the 4th quarter.) We went more than 6 mins without a single FG this game. We lack players that can break down a defense and make a play outside of teague and occasionally dennis. Its so obvious that the cavs game plan is to stay home on shooters and watch us miss layup after layup. We struggled to get a clean look from 3 all game. 4/23 shooting from 3. Wanna know why our offense has been so stagnant these playoffs? Because we are struggling to beat the initial defender and force defensive rotations so we can kill teams with our passing. Opponents are switching on screens, staying home on shooters, and daring us to beat them 1 on 1 and we are struggling to do so. having some kind of slashing wing or a post player that can command a double team would help us soooo much. Edit: I dont think the cavs ran 1 play the entire game and they were getting better looks than us because LBJ is such a monster 1 on 1 that we have to commit multiple defenders at a time whenever he catches the ball from the mid post area.
