  1. All of the anti tanking plans I see relies on Millsap being injury free and being an all star caliber players in his mid 30’s. I’m glad we moved on. 2 years ago we were a Millsap injury or decline from being in the pistons/hornets territory.
  2. Only scenario I believe we can be a 30+ win team. If Trae Young can be an immediate net positive player when hes playing 30+ mins a game as a 19 year old If John Collins can elevate his game to a fringe all star level If Pierce proves he is a decent/good coach
  3. Lin shouldn't automatically get a starting spot just because he is a vet. He is coming back from a major season ending injury. We don't know what condition he will be in when he returns to the court.
  4. Trae is the most polarizing player in this draft class (until Luka Doncic plays) and I have no idea why. Any highlights of this guy regardless how he plays automatically gets 100k views. He is getting Lonzo Ball level of attention.
  5. Owners have learned their lesson from the durant and harden situation. Can't afford to be cheap when you got superstar talent on the team.
  6. This pick will be felt for the next decade. With the lottery odds changing, we mostly will never have a pick this high in a draft this good for a loooooonnnggg time. Definitely won't be watching the hawks next season. Luka was the 1 guy I was looking foward to next season.
  7. I hated Ferry plan. He built the foundation for the situation we are in now. His win now with role players on short term contracts model was terrible for the future. His decision to focus on developing a bunch role players in their late 20s on short term contracts did nothing for us but set those players up for big pay days and put us in a tough position financially. Ferry also whiffed on multiple drafts (outside of dennis)leaving us devoid of any young talent which forced us to either tank or be a 40 win team with a 100 million+ dollar payroll. He also allowed Larry Drew to hang around and soak up all of our drafting knowledge and go to Milwaukee which cost us Giannis. Im glad Ferry is gone.
  8. Then Tristan Thompson comes to town and you snap back into reality.
  9. Now entertain me by telling me how their contracts would fit on our books.
  10. I think we could of atleast gotten a 2nd round pick for him. There are some teams that needed some additional ball handling and scoring off the bench.
  11. KCP's agent is Rich Paul. He plays hard ball and is willing to go through long stalemates in order to get his client big money. Look at the Tristan Thompson and Eric Bledsoe contract situation. They both held out and didn't sign new contracts until September/October. If KCP doesn't get the money he wants he will just take a 1 year and try the market again next year.
  12. Hes too expensive. Hes going to get Otto Porter type money.
  13. I agree with that. you can blame BudCox for that.
  14. Keeping that team together wasn't financially possible and that team wasn't all that good to begin with. All of our players end up getting overpaid because our system made them look better than they actually were. Teague is now making nearly 20 Mil per year. Carroll is making 15 mil to sit on the bench and limp around in Toronto. Horford is making nearly 30 mil per to put up role player production. Millsap is now making 30 mil per at 32 year old with knee issues. Korver at 36 years old is still demanding multi year deals. Keeping that team together would easily put us at the highest payroll in the league and we would still get swept by Cleveland every year.
  15. This team was on the decline and has hit its ceiling awhile ago. I am glad we are being more proactive about the rebuild. If we have stayed our course we would be in a very ugly situation a few years down the road with alot of bad salary on our books.
  16. Not a fan of Faried at all but Chandler could be good trade bait for a team that is trying to win now. SFs that can shoot and play small ball PF are sought after in todays NBA.
  17. I say Lebron,Durant,Curry,Anthony Davis, Kawhi, Paul George, Cousins, Butler, Harden, Westbrook, Chris Paul, Griffin, John Wall, Giannis, Isaiah Thomas Are better than Millsap now and moving foward.
  18. We were one of the worst teams in the league when Paul Millsap was out. I believe our record was 2-10. Even if we some how make the playoffs. Being the 6th or 7th seed with a majority of the players 25 and under on a rookie scale contracts is significantly better than being a 6th or 7th with a 100 million dollar payroll.
  19. Being a restricted free agent means its guaranteed that he is going to get overpaid in the off season which makes him significantly less valuable as a trade piece. We are most likely looking at close to a 20 mil a yr salary for him
  20. Pretty much what I suspected from Bud based on the moves we are making. Stay in the middle, maintain status quo as long as possible until we are forced to go through a slow ugly rebuild when are main cogs start falling off a cliff. Btw if he considers where we currently stand as "success". He is doing an awesome job of it.
  21. exactly I hated that pick from the moment he was announced and I couldn't rationalized that pick at all. We had a DIRE need at SG/SF (still do). we also had 4 bigs on the roster with the exact same skill set and not to mention he was an old fart for a rookie. Like 23?. Just another draft blunder in our long history.
  22. We went away from it because we were a small ball team that couldn't score when needed. Small ball only works if you can put on an offensive blitzkrieg and score 110 a night. Side by side comparison of offensive numbers from this year and last year hasn't even changed that much. This year our offensive rating is 103.3 while last year our offensive rating is 103.0.
  23. I was too on the get a real center bandwagon. Its hilarious how we made 1 personnel change in the line up and all of a sudden we went from a 28th rebounding team to a top 5 rebounding team. It was ridiculous the excuses people were making for our rebounding saying we need to "team rebound" better while over looking how our center is 6,9 and rebounds like a small forward. Our scoring is always going to be an issue since we don't have that kind of offensive talent. But getting destroyed on the glass like we use to leaves us with a zero margin for error in order to win games against elite teams come playoff time.
  24. 1 year later and I still think it was a god awful trade. I don't even think hes worthy of an extension. He sucks.
  25. Atlanta doesnt have the international reach that those cities do.
