  1. It's a 50 /50 deal with BOTH of them coming to Atlanta.......but I still think Melo is our guy. P.S some of you thought I was "dreaming" about Melo in Atlanta, now ESPN is in on the possibility. I tell you all the teams see the Hawks in a different light. With us being named "Spurs east" after the Spurs beat the ALL-Star Heat will only help us look better. Above all else we finally have an identity, and that's a thing players need to know before hand.
  2. It's so amazing how much we play like the Spurs, but with more offensive explosion. If we can be as good as the Spurs defensively, we'll be a playoff team teams would want to avoid.
  3. I really hate to see this happen. Congrats to Quinn, but would have liked to see this coaching staff stayed intact.
  4. 1. Yes 2. Put backs, alley oops, fast break dunks 3. Maybe, but his role will be rim protector and rebounder....like a 8.7ppg -10.6rpg-2.4 bpg type of player at first. 4. Yes. Can alter shots with his length.....plus will have the help of Horford and Millsap. 5. Not at first. He will be brought along slowly, but will be matched up with the longer players of the league until he's apart of the rotation.
  5. I pass on Lance. If Stevenson an elite defender, then so is DMC. Teague ate his lunch in the playoffs, so much so that they put their "all-star" SF to guard him.
  6. Welcome to the board. Looking forward to your opinions on our team.
  7. 1. Get Lou back to full strength-mentally- I still believe Lou can (cause he showed flashes of it) help this team. Once he get's his confidence back at finishing at the rim,he will add another dimension to our offense. 2.Get Horford back full strength- For obvious reasons. 3. Get Antić back, get Nogueira here- We need Antić back. People forget that he was a rookie, and his playoff performance reflected that. We need rim protection and rebounds-Nogueira can help in this area. 4. Melo in Atlanta.
  8. I really don't know much about him,but if he has an high BBIQ and hard worker-then I say bring him on. I think we have one of the better coaching staff in the league. Look at Great Scott and Silent Mack for starters, Millsap and Teague I don't even have to mention. Horford was developing a corner 3 before the injury.

    Bebe update

Rim protector and rebounds should be his main roles on this team. His offense will come from put backs and fast break dunks. Bringing him over will be the smart thing to do, considering that we has the staff to develop him to his potential.
  10. I just feel like we have about the same chance of getting Melo as the other teams do. I mean if he stays in NY fine, but the Knicks is going to rebuild and I know Melo isn't about to wait. CHI is no way a good fit for him,Rose hasn't played in 2 years. LA is in the hard west, he's not going back. That's why I think Melo may consider the Hawks...................plus I see some on here talk about cap, trust me if Melo wants to come here Ferry will make it happen. Remember, the ASG told him they would pay the luxury tax if they have to.
  11. I feel what saying......I just don't think others teams have the core that we present in a east. With TOR,CHA and WAS on the come up with the east won't be weak for long.
  12. And that's the way I'm looking at it as well. This will put that one piece we've been missing........like when Steven Jackson played for the Spurs.
  13. That's the thing, the rebuilding stage is over. You can't take the #1 seed to 7 games without your best player and say your rebuilding. We put the NBA on notice with that performance......P.S... just like the article mentioned we need a closer.
  14. Carmelo Anthony: Superstar Should Seriously Consider Atlanta Hawks Top 5 tips to find a new job (TopTipsNews) May 4, 2014 8:46 pm EDT by Andrew Shaw Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports This might sound crazy, but Carmelo Anthony should seriously consider going to the Atlanta Hawks this offseason. The New York Knicks aren’t going anywhere any time soon even with Phil Jackson running the show. The old regime messed up so badly, it’s going to be a long road before the Knicks become relevant again. This means Anthony has to look for a team that’s ready to compete now because he’s not getting any younger. He’s in the prime of his NBA career at the moment, which means he needs to find a contender as soon as possible. So why not Atlanta? I know the team barely made the NBA Playoffs, but just look at the roster GM Danny Ferry has assembled. An emerging star in Jeff Teague at point guard, to go along with NBA All-Star’s Paul Millsap and Al Horford down low, makes the Hawks an interesting place for the superstar to consider. I didn’t even mention the fact that the league’s best three-point shooter Kyle Korver also plays in Atlanta. Put Anthony into this starting lineup and the Hawks would instantly become a legitimate force to be reckoned with. This is especially true under coach Mike Budenholzer‘s system. The sharpshooting forward fits perfectly into his scheme of spacing out the floor because Anthony can hit from anywhere. Also, if there’s one thing Atlanta needs more than anything in order to get over the edge and compete for championships, it’s a star like Melo. Anthony averaged an outstanding 27.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a small forward last season with the Knicks. Now, I know he will take a slight dip in production considering the talent that surrounds him in Atlanta, but he would still be the go-to guy the Hawks need badly to close out opponents late in games. They struggled to finish off the Indiana Pacers in the first round despite having multiple leads in certain games, and it cost them the series. With Anthony, Atlanta can forget about ever exiting in the first round again. It might not be the flashy destination for the superstar, but why not choose the Hawks? There are not many teams out there right now who possess both the cap space and roster that they do. The Chicago Bulls are certainly a good landing spot as well, but does Anthony want to build his own legacy or live in the shadow of someone else? Plus, the Bulls have a lot of unknowns right now, too. Derrick Rose still hasn’t shown that he’s ready to go next year, and coach Tom Thibodeau might be leaving as well. Make the right choice Anthony, and come on down to Atlanta. Andrew Shaw is an Atlanta Hawks writer for RantSports.com. 15. Glad to be back.......I just don't post a lot,but been QuantumHawkz since 2011.
  16. Melo has an high BBIQ and the talent to fit into Bud's system. Plus our PnR game will be perfect for his attacking style of offense. You may be right about the cap space, but whatever Ferry said to Millsap and DMC to come here so cheap...he needs to say it to Melo.
  17. This is not a "Pipe dream", this very well could be a possibility. Why? It's simple, he's a perfect fit in buds system. Melo isn't getting any younger and the fact that he has been the iso king isn't doing his body any favors. So why not come to a team that shares the rock like we do. He would be more effective come playoffs cause he's not wearing out his body during the regular season...and he'll be more efficient. We have the cap to pay him what he's Worth. Tell me what other team in the league has a better supporting cast with cap space better then the Hawks? Can you picture a Horford, Millsap, Melo, Korver and Teague starting, with Lou,Scott,DMC,Mac and Antić off the bench? Not to mention Muscala,JJ and Nogueira, throw in our draft pick and this is a contender. I know Lou is going to come back with vengeance. It takes time to mentally recover from an knee injury, plus this will be his first full off season in bud's system. Like I said ,don't count him out yet. Why would he choose Atlanta? Cause his wife LaLa has ties in Atlanta. It just might happen.....well,it's more likely than the D12 and CP3 off season. Tell me what you all think........................Glad that my account finally is working agian, good to be back with the Squawkers.
  18. Last year Joe wasn't Joe. Now Joe is healthly. Now Joe can be Joe.
  19. Joe is healthly, that's all I'm going to say.
  20. Havent been here since a few weeks after the playoffs( iam in atlanta falcons football mode now) but Happy Born date to you and here's to many more. Keep posting those good and logical post that your known for.Your a true definition of a hawks fan.
  21. Joe's contract is not what he's worth to the NBA, it's what he's worth to the ATLANTA HAWKS. Get over it the man is here to stay.Yes, he had an off season, so what? And i see people saying" Wade and Labron Lames are getting paid less then Joe". They had to if they wanted to play together. Otherwise they would be the highest paid players in the NBA.So that's not a valid point. I also see people saying" Joe is not a star, Josh Smith means more to the Hawks then Joe". Really? The last time i've checked Joe is the only Hawk who get's doubled teamed, not Josh. The last time i've checked ONLY stars are the ones who get doubled teamed.SO PLEASE tell me (and Diesel) who whould come to the hawks and do what Joe do? The answer is no one. Do you know why? Cause no player is coming to a JOE-LESS Atlanta Hawks team. And that's not a diss towards Horford or Smith, but the reality is the NBA is a guard league. Has been since Jordan. So to all the "Joe haters" i'll be sure to reserve seats on the " Joe bandwagon" when a HEALTHY Joe starts playing like Joe.
  22. Get well soon Marv. I have a funny feeling that Marvin will play alot better now.
  23. For crying out loud! The man had TWO surgeries this year, and one of them was on his shooting elbow. Joe ( just like the whole team) had an injury plagued season. It's that simple. We have to remember that the Hawks was the healthiest team in the NBA last year. So that's it. Joe is going to come back and get his revenge, then "the Joe Johnson band wagon" will be full once more.AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT HIS CONTRACT.We all can sit and say we know what( the ASG) their going or not going to do all we want, but the FACT is WE don't. Will they spend or not WE don't know. Joe is WILL be fine.
