  1. *Hopefully I don't jinx him* but if Al Horford does get injured, Sund isn't gonna go sign another big man. He'll just rely on Woody to play the guys we have rotting on the bench whether it be Randolph, Othello (if brought back), or Siler(if signed). Powe being just a fill in for the roster until he recovers is fine with me. It's potentially a low risk high reward deal.
  2. Give Joe 14 Million and I think it's reasonable. Any higher than that, we overpaid. We get Joe 12 million and I'll be really impressed by Sund.
  3. I say we just snag Powe right now and wait until he does get healthy. If Powe doesn't sign with a team this offseason, we all know that when it comes near the time when he''ll be in full health, a lot of teams(especially contending ones) will try to sign him. Atlanta's chances on getting Powe when a lot of teams will be looking at him is slim. I really think Powe will come back from his injury and actually contribute the same way he did in Boston. Whoever gets Powe will get a steal in my opinion. Powe was probably the only Celtic I like this past two years.
  4. Woodson was probably gonna stay even if Joe didn't say that he wanted Woody back... :zipper:
  5. It'd be nice to get it situated now so us fans wouldn't be thinking about the dreaded 2010 Free Agency. On the other hand, I'd like to see how Joe plays on his contract year.
  6. I believe Al Horford goes to school as well. At least I know he did in his rookie year. Anyway, going to school during the summer shouldn't affect the way you play on the court. You're basically saying that because Horford went to school that one summer that he isn't a hard worker. Also, according to Al Horford, he considers himself the hardest working guy on the team. So, by saying Marvin is going to school is a sign of bad work ethic means you're saying Al Horford has a bad work ethic...thus, saying no one on our team has a good work ethic. Going to school is an irrelevant reason.
  7. Is it me or does TNT hate us? Aren't they stationed here in Atlanta? At least we got 7 from ESPN.
  8. I think a good scenario and what I am hoping Teague turns out to be is a Devin Harris. If not, a Monta Ellis.
  9. I was thinking about this as I was watching some old vids on NBATV. Does our players have a similar game to someone from the past? The two players that was really hard to compare someone to from the past are Mike Bibby and Josh Smith? Does Bibby and Josh have that unique of a game?
  10. The only problem is that Evans is one of the hardest guys to upgrade due to his salary. Either the salary doesn't match or Mo Evans is better than the guy. I would love to have a player like Mickael Pietrus but we can't match his contract. :(
  11. It would be nice to get a 3 but it's not necessary. We have like you said Mo Evans backing Marvin up. We also have Josh Smith and Joe Johnson playing the 3, so it's not really needed. It would be nice to add more depth at that spot but it's no reason to spend too much money on it.
  12. I don't want us to sign Salim at all but I do wish that he is in an NBA uniform next year. I still think he could be the next Eddie House or something of that nature if given the playing time to develop.
  13. Honestly, nobody. People talk about the Boston getting old and becoming more injury prone but when KG went down last year, they were still a top team and still a contending team. I don't expect Boston to take a step down at all. I actually see them doing better as they'll be hungry to win and probably will be one of the hungriest teams to win next year. Orlando didn't take a step back. The addition of Vince Carter finally gives them a player that you can go to whenever you want to score. Hedo did that but I think VC is better at creating his own shot. Plus, Rashard Lewis goes to the position he's better in, SF. They picked up Bass and also have Ryan Anderson at the 4. Gortat could also play that 4 position if they really want to go big. We know how the Celtics series we had two years ago left a bitter taste in our mouth, imagine Orlando....losing in the biggest stage when they know that they could have been the team that was up 3-1 And like sturt said, Dwight is only gonna get better. Cleveland is gonna be there. It's scary to think, but I think Lebron will have his best season yet. His jumpshot has improved each season and if he can get a little bit more consistent with it, he can take the #1 player spot from Kobe. Lebron will be on a mission as well so it's really hard to see them fall down to the 4th. They added Moon and Parker who are very good role players. If Josh Smith gets a basketball IQ, Al Horford gets some offensive game, and Marvin get some aggressiveness, then...yes, we do have a chance on snagging a top 3 seed. It's highly unlikely that we do though. We're still the favorite to get the 4th spot but teams like Washington, Toronto, Miami, Philadelphia could very well snag it from us.
  14. It's tough to predict right now because we have no idea what's gonna happen for the rest of the summer. Miami is still looking at Odom and Boozer and getting either of those two players will definitely challenge us on keeping the 2nd or the 3rd spot in the division. I think the only thing we can say for sure is that Charlotte will be the last team in the division. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the 4th spot on the division is up for grabs for us, Miami, and Washington. If I have to take a guess, here is how it will go: 1. Orlando 2. Atlanta 3. Miami 4. Washington 5. Charlotte
  15. It's stupid to compare these two players. 1. They don't play the same position. 2. One plays on a lottery team and one plays on a playoff team. 3. Completely have different roles for their team. Brandan Wright has a better opportunity to develop in Golden State simply because there isn't much talent there. Marvin meanwhile plays with a lot of talent on his team. If we're talking about who's the better player right now, it's Marvin Williams. There are so many negatives about Brandan Wright: injury prone, foul prone, gets abused in the paint, average rebounder for his size, and no range on his shot. Only positive thing you can say about Wright is he has a high FG%. I'll take Marvin any day over Brandan Wright. Marvin can contribute to the team without having the ball in his hands while Wright does.
  16. I believe Horford is playing for Dominican Republic alongside Francisco Garcia and Charlie Villanueva.
  17. "Josh Smith made some pretty blocks today" from UFCPete That was a tweet from a writer that is covering the Mini camp for the US team for Utah.

    Old video

Thanks everyone. It's nice to hear that people still get chills on a video I made a year ago. I'm looking to make another playoff mix of the Hawks, I just need to find the time to do it.
  19. Good video. Josh Smith seemed active on defense and on the boards. Although, he looks the most out of shaped. Every time the ball stops, he always has his hands on his knees. I think he's looking good though judging from that video.
  20. Asides from Marvin adding in a 3 point shot in his arsenal, no one on the team has added something new. I think the main reason we won a lot more games than we did past seasons is just chemistry. We've had the same core for a long time now. Anyway, back on topic, Joe Smith is great. One of the best role players in the league today.
  21. Hey TeamGear, I was wondering if you still have the Dominique Wilkins Urban Tee you had a while back. I believed it cost 30 dollars. I was gonna buy it last week but when I checked, it wasn't there anymore. Did you guys run out or did you just take it off the listing? Also, thanks for the discount! I'll be definitely purchasing something.
  22. I asked Micah Hart(hawks.com Headman) and he said it's not gonna be open to the public. I think the earliest we can get into Philips and see the players is with 'Season Ticket Meet And Greet'.
  23. Milwaukee would be stupid to not match. Even though they have Jennings, Sessions is one of the most underrated young point guards in the league. He'll be a better player than Jennings will ever be. They already know what Sessions can do but Jennings still has a lot of question marks.
  24. "Well, that didn't take long...Woody has gotten on Teague about TALKING on defense. That's a pet peeve JT, just ask Bibby, Joe and Josh." By hawksPRman "This is getting hilarious. Woody just called Corey Williams "homicide." And Siler is a good two inches and 40 pounds heavier than RandMo." By sekousmith01 "Othello Hunter is putting on a wicked dunk display is this explosion drill. He's gotten loads better since this time a year ago." By sekousmith01
