  1. That does sound more like it, but I would suppose it's something that varies from patient to patient depending on the severity.
  2. This might be another Jason Richardson type signing... bring him to camp, let him compete, and see what happens.
  3. I didn't either, but just took it that either I missed something on the broadcast, or the tweet-er-er is in Vegas and overheard something courtside from her.
  4. Cordinier showing something, ain't he?
  5. So unusual. What happened that it all didn't get done on Friday. Why isn't anyone asking that question, and/or why isn't anyone answering it? Can this mean anything but IND has some real concerns about Teague's injury?
  6. Allow me to explain.... Zaza is a better C than he is PF, and not surprisingly, the teams for which he's played have ordinarily needed him to play C. But he has played PF on a few occasions per 82games. I've never been persuaded that he's actually 270, myself, but that's just my own opinion. If so, he's about the most svelt 270 I've ever seen in my life, and he's no great athlete, but he also doesn't lumber around like someone carrying around that many pounds. Defense? Again, unpopular as it might be to point out, Moose's D stats through 3 seasons and 1200 minutes mostly exceed Zaza's through 3 seasons and 4500 minutes played. A lot of what Zaza does well defensively is what also makes him a good rebounder.... he has an exceptional BBIQ for positioning, whether that's come through natural instinct or whether it's been learned, but probably both. If you back it up and look at minutes played instead of seasons played, Zaza surpassed Moose's 1200 in just his second season. Noticeably, Moose's DWS exceeds what Zaza's was at approximately the same milepost. What's always always always been incredible about Zaza is his DRB%... which again attests to what I said above about positioning. Here's where Moose could seriously help himself.... get to the line more. And that would run parallel with the desire for him to gain a bit more of an attitude. Get in there, mix it up... might not get to Zaza's stellar 8 attempts per 100 possessions, but see if you can't get something closer to 4 or 5 at least.
  7. What I'm wondering is why the two sides haven't already agreed to move back the deadline so that it occurs after the arraignment (?!?), and once the situation becomes clearer what to expect. All I can figure is that maybe it's not in Scott's best interests to let it all go down that way, and that he's holding out for some buy-out (?).
  8. Yah. True, true. Comes back to whether one accepts the thought of Delaney as the 2nd PG. I do, but I take it that the OP doesn't. Also comes back to what is actually in the trade, ie, if there are other parts to it.
  9. Well, technically.... if you can strike a deal that takes the team over the cap, we gain that $5.6m MLE that could yield another rotation player as a bonus.
  10. One would have thought that none of the teams involved would have posted stories on their acquisitions had the trade not been approved. To the contrary, the trade has been reported and remains up on all 3 websites. If there were some real problem that's arisen, you would think the stories would already have been taken down. And yet, all we know for sure is that Prince wasn't permitted to play last night when seemingly he's physically good to go. Headscratcher.
  11. Been about 24 hours now since the op. Intrigue builds.
  12. To be fair, he's probably hyping a story on Prince he's about to post.... but (a) if that's the eye-catching headline, it might be far from compelling, and (b) why tweet before you're actually within a minute or two of posting the article? I dunno. I hate beating on a guy, but he seems to set himself up regularly for criticism.
  13. Not sure of the technical time... I'd thought tomorrow is day by which they must reach a decision, but regardless, you're right, very soon.... again, unless both sides agree to punt.
  14. Now, if that ain't breaking news, I don't know what it is.
  15. Like I said... "Moose, of course, is a better shooter overall with better range, though he gives away something to a young Zaza on the boards." I don't see either one as a pure C or PF. They are both large enough to play 5, but can move well enough to log minutes at 4.
  16. Honestly, add a little more attitude, and I see some resemblances to a young Zaza.... Zaza could shoot a jumper, could rebound, could make the occasional assist, wasn't a great leaper... but early-on in his Hawks career, he did get a shot at starting, and he carved out a place for himself. Moose, of course, is a better shooter overall with better range, though he gives away something to a young Zaza on the boards. Here's the stats on each after 3 seasons.... Moose, if you're reading this.... obviously, get your 3 pt shot back to the other side of 35%.... but also, see if you can't gain that Zaza-like subtle snarl over the off-season. :D
  17. Validated from Sac Bee beat writer that they're actively looking to move him... If you do a deal, as @JayBirdHawk indicated, you have to have some additional move ready to be pulled in order to fill whatever hole you just created. I doubt we're doing anything until we have certainty on what's going on with Scott's situation--i.e., he's probably not marketable to other teams until then, either.
  18. Previous reports had him making something south of $2m over two years.... I believe the number was $1.5m. Obviously, Malcolm wanted to correct the record on that. One wonders if that might be $1.5m guaranteed, with some additional incentive bonuses. A point that leaped out to me is that he says we actually tried to sign him last year, but couldn't. Where were we going to fit him? I can't figure that one out. We had Teague/Schröder/Mack at the 1, and Bazemore/Hardaway/Patterson at the 2. Maybe Patterson just had too good of a SL, and otherwise, he was going to be cut (?).
  19. I like Hump, but I don't know what he's going to get in this market. What's more, if you always acquire players on the basis of what they already did without regard for their age, your roster gets old as you haven't accounted well for the fact that there becomes a point of diminishing returns. Has to be some balance there that allows your roster to benefit from players developing their upsides.
  20. I agree with the conclusion, but not with the supporting premise.... last year in SL, many of us were talking here about how rare it was that anyone else was getting minutes at the point. They really began the experiment with him then. If anything, he had competition for some of that last night, with Cotton and Pangos out there.
  21. I love me some mixed cliche's. Studying his numbers three, nay four, things stick out to me comparing 2015-16 with 2014-15. 1. 3pt % tumbled by 10 points, 41% to 31%, and that he took 1 more 3 pt. shot per game, that decrease was all the more consequential and noticeable. 2. ORB% tumbled by almost 5 points, 12.2 to 7.5, though to be fair, when playoff time came around, he almost completely recovered that slippage, and overall, he rivaled Paul Milsap. 3. How many more games did Moose play last season? 20.... okay, and how many more minutes, then, did he get? 63 more minutes. Total. Would make me want to study his game films more closely to see if his most productive minutes are occurring after he's been in the game for 10 minutes or more. Viewing the game logs, it appears to me it's fair to conclude his best offensive games came in those he had double-digit time, and his worst defensive games occurred when he didn't, but all of that is somewhat natural since, if he's doing well, you leave him in, and if he's not, you take him out. So that's why I'd want to see more precisely how he performs first 10 min vs. minutes thereafter from game to game. All in all, I disagree with those advocating he's not worth keeping. I'll change my tune this time next year if he doesn't at minimum return to a 2014-15 kind of production. But I think it's completely plausible that, with a 35-38%-ish 3 pt stat, and a TRB% in the 14% range, he wlll merit another contract next off-season.
  22. Not sure we're talking about the same thing (?). The best I can say it... his tone is different.... dare I say, there's a maturity that comes across that isn't the DH I've previously heard speak.
  23. I get it that 59% represents an ever-so-slight improvement over DH's 57% career FT%, but I too would hesitate to think that underhanded is a viable solution. Chamberlain's name came up, and not because it ever worked for him.... clearly it didn't.
