  1. I wish i could like this 10 times. They act like this magical pick has proven itself. Dennis went for 25 pts and 8 assists in the playoffs. It's amazing how we undervalue our own talent.
  2. If PG is leaving, their tanking. Taking on Baze's contract won't stop the tank. If you're getting two first round picks and a reasonable contract (Baze's is reasonable if you consider they won't have any other big free agents), then it's a very good deal. If the Hawks get to the finals, who's to say that PG13 won't resign. I'm all for get a star level player, just for one year. PG13 in Bud's system could be awesome.
  3. They'd want the drafty picks. Right now PG is damn near untradeable. You'll have to match Salaries and Baze's salary matches up with Paul's.
  4. If they take Baze, then give them Cleveland and Minnesota's first round pick. Resign Paul. We could be the 2nd best team in the east who knows, may be able to get to the finals.
  5. These shooting charts may change some minds about players you like. Some players I thought were great shooters have A LOT of deficiencies. Especially some of the guys in the top 10. https://nbadraft.theringer.com/
  6. So if the Hawks tank as you suggest, what's to keep them from getting good slots in bad draft years?
  7. As many times as you like, that's your opinion which I respect. My point was, you said the Hawks didn't have a young core to build around and I gave you the young players they could build around. It's not a super team, but it's a good young core. The Hawks also have bird rights to the other players on the team which means if they so choose they can go over the cap to sign any of their free agents. They could use the exceptions, which I believe add up to approximately $11.5 million, to sign some additional players (JJ ReddicK in my scenario above). They aren't winning a championship soon and I hope they find a way to get some additional young talent on the team as you do. I just don't ever want to go back to the 13 win season. That was a terrible display. You just don't want to instill a culture of losing.
  8. If the Hawks get a shooter in Free Agency, let's say a JJ Reddick, they'll make the playoffs because they have always been a good defensive team under Bud. They will not get far, but they'll probably make it. My point being is Dennis, Prince, and THjr are all 25 or under you could build around them. Add Brembry in there, which a lot here do not give any credit, but the kid played tough defense and played very well off the ball considering he's a rookie, you have a solid young core. We need to get some young bigs that can switch, pass, and play defense and a couple more pure shooters and the Hawks will be good to go. I don't see them challenging the Dubs, but you never know how some players development can turn them into all star fringe super star players.
  9. I would puke if the C's got Butler. The Boston Media would be even more unbearable. Even if the Celtics get Butler, they still are not as good as the Cavs, so there's that. Please Lawd don't let this happen.
  10. Where to start? Ben Simmons has not played one minute in the NBA. Is he really that good or are you buying into the hype? He could not even take his LSU team to the NCAA tournament. If you take an 18 LBJ or KD and put them on that team and guess what, LSU is in the tournament. My point being, if he's some type of transcendent player you should see it at all levels. Joel Embiid - As great as his approximately 30 games in the NBA have been, will he ever be healthy enough to play a full season? To be a be a star a player has to be available. Markell Fultz - I'm not saying he won't be an Allstar, but we do not know how he will translate to the NBA. You can get a Justin Jackson and he could turn into the next PG13 (very very unlikely). My point is if you draft and develop these 15 - 19 picks into Allstars, you may be able to flip a few for a few lottery picks and that's how you get your high upside player without tanking. Dennis was the 17th pick in his draft, looking back, would you not say he deserved to be a top 5 pick? The players besides Mccullum, Giannis, and few others are complete duds.
  11. I appreciate your enthusiasm, However, Harry Giles and Paul Millsap's skill-set are completely different. I can't just choose one so I'll give you a few scenarios! #1. #19 - Justin Jackson - SG - He provides the length we need at the shooting guard position and he allows the hawks to be super flexible (he has ability to play 2/3/and small ball 4). He's everything the new GM wants in a player. I'm not sure if he'll be available, but if so hopefully the Hawks select him. #31 - Give me Jordan Bell - This kid's defense will be amazing and his offensive game is not super terrible. #60 - Kobi Simmons - I hate to add another nonshooter to the team, but he's good value at #60 if you can coach him up. #2 - #19 - Justin Patton - He's young and showed huge strides in his first year starting. If Bud can teach him how to play he could potentially be Marcus Cambyesque. #31 - Juwan Evans - Kid can flat out play. I think he'd be the perfect back up for Dennis. #60 - Peter Jok - He has some potential, if you can get his defense fixed. He could be the pure shooter the Hawks need. #3 -- #19 - Jarrett Allen - I think he'll have good defensive ability to start out. I've seen some videos and he has some potential in the midrange as far as his offense. #31 - Jawuan Evansn - same as above. #60 - P.J. Dozier - Kid needs his shot fixed, but everything else in his game is pretty good.
  12. Honestly, the Knicks drafting him is the worst thing possible for Frank. Maybe in a year or two after they've ruined him for two seasons (as they ruined THJ), Schlinek (sp) can trade for him for pennies on the dollar and Bud can whip him into shape.
  13. This is my fear. That team would destroy Golden State. Bron Bron would probably get two more championships.
  14. I would not be upset with that draft. There's a lot of combination of players I would not be upset with.
  15. I see it as LeBron getting a taste of his own medicine. He started this foolishness and for you all out there thinking Cleveland isn't a Super Team, they have three freaking all stars capable of dropping 30 on you at anytime. Golden State just happened to out do them. To be honest, I'm not sure GS could beat Cleveland without Durant. No one is looking at the good side of this. We may have very good players switching to the Eastern Conference to escape the juggernaut that is Golden State. I just hope the Hawks can land one or two them.
  16. Count me on the Justin Jackson bandwagon. I looked at him last year and he was turrible. He's improved every aspect of his game this year. I do not see him as a 3, although he could play the 2/3/4 (4 is a stretch because he only ways 200lbs). I think if the Hawks draft him, he'll play the 2. If he improves his dribble, he'll be an excellent future 2 guard next to Dennis. He's also more developed than some of the other guys I like in this draft, so he'll be able to contribute some next year.
  17. I like Kuzma too. He def needs to work on his shot though, but if he gets it down, there's a lot of potential there for a good starter. Not an all star, but a good solid starter that does the little things that go unnoticed.
  18. Umm. I'm sorry, but I'm enjoying watching LBJ feel hopeless just like he's made the Hawks feel hopeless every year they've met in the playoffs. You can hate the warriors, but they play the game the right way. They share the ball, move without the ball, play tough defense. I've enjoyed this coronation of GS which started in September.
  19. I think it depends on who the Hawks select at 19 and who's available at 31. I definitely would not be opposed to him at 31. He has plenty of upside. He's not a combo guard he's a straight up 2 with some play making ability.
  20. If the Hawks get anything close to playoff Dennis (25pt/8 assists) consistently the next few years and Frank turns into an 18/6/6 type guard, the Hawks will finally have the guard tandem that can take them far.
  21. To me? YES! I don't believe Kennard will be able to guard as well as Frank. Frank's mechanics look really good and I believe he will become an above average shooter in the nba. His handles should improve considering his age. I believe Frank at 21 years old will be better than Luke Kennard is now.
  22. In the playoffs, the Hawks perimeter D was much better than the regular season. Pick n roll defense was nonexistent.
  23. I'm glad you came out of the closet and are fully embracing your tank side . I fully support you on this journey, well not really because I don't believe in tanking for some unicorn that you may never get. There are ways to go with a youth movement and still be very competetive. What the Hawks may want to do is hope that Brembry or THjr keep improving to the point where a team is willing to give up a lottery pick for either one. If Isaia comes over, we have 3 young shooting guards with some upside, THjr (league average), Bembry (if his shot gets fixed will be a very good player on O and defense with playmaking ability), Isaia (who knows?) Bazemore is more of an asset than we give him credit for too. The problem with Baze is the Hawks tried to force him into a role in which he currently does not have the ability to perform. Sacremento will probably be willing to give up one of their two top ten picks for him since they are severly lacking in defense.
  24. Uhh what happened to the discussion on Frank Ntilikina?
  25. You could make this trade work with Baze and Dunleavy. You'll keep Dwight, but get Carmelo and possibly swap picks. The Knicks want to get rid of Melo at all costs. I don't know if they will give us thier pick, but who knows.
