  1. I always thought he was a good coach. I liked him a lot better than Woody other than he won all those needless games.
  2. Shouldn't we move this to another forum? Grimes was a Falcon about 10 losses ago.
  3. Anyone else just hate watching Diaw?
  4. Man I couldn't agree more. And there is so much unwarranted criticism of Al lately that i hate to even ask the question but really he should be going around that screen or at the least running him over right? Seems like he should have been expecting the screen and tried to go around but hey still a great game.
  5. I'm pretty sure Nique saying it doesn't change reality. I don't think we were turning down superstars before this interview.
  6. You guys are crazy if you think we would have even been in this game last year. If we cut down on turnovers, which is something we can do, then we win this game. Plus lots of bogus calls. Parker would have had two costly turnovers if he wasn't allowed to tackle guys with the ball on the floor to get it back. What the hell. Spurs know all the tricks of the trade and still it took a last second shot to beat us. I'd say .500 through the first 20 games of new team, new coach is right on track. Now we just need some more nba level talent.
  7. Aw. Dammit. Why can't we find a good wing? Sure hoping DF comes up with something.
  8. Agreed. Plus Korver out and a lot of travel. We are going to be up and down with this squad as we aren't deep. Still there is fight in this team and if we can pull off a trade for a good 2 guard we have a chance to have a good season.
  9. The East is actually really good....at tanking. Celtics, sixers, bobcats, bucks, raptors, magic arent' really trying that hard as an organization to win this year. Couple that with the pistons, knicks, nets and cleveland being flat out incompetent and your left with 4 teams that give a shoot and the Bulls just lost their franchise. Its a crazy year and its going to get worse as the race out of the playoffs in the east will be intense.
  10. Please please. We need a good SG with some size in the worst way. No way they take Jenkins and filler though. At this point Jenkins seems like a liability.
  11. I'm about past the point of caring but here is an article on the Braves' plans http://www.ajc.com/news/business/atlanta-braves-plan-400-million-entertainment-dist/nbyxr/ Two things strike me about this. One is that I find it hard to believe the Braves were 'negotiating' with the city in good faith considering how extensive their plans and deals with Cobb already are. Seems they were just trying to make the City refuse their demands and say 'we had no choice' Second, the Braves are up in the $600 million of their own money range between the stadium and associated development. Probably more. Where was that willingness to invest that kind of dough the last 5 years. I understand they want to control everything but they would have gotten a lot more cooperation from the city had they extended this type of investment in Atlanta like they've done in Cobb. I totally understand they want to make money and think this is the best way. I have a lot of issues with them trying to make this look like it was the city not working with them.
  12. Being cautiously optimistic. Its still hard to imagine the nets not making the playoffs with all the crappy east teams.
  13. Maybe but as is said above i think they are really looking for picks. Maybe Brand, Jenkins, and 2015 1st. That may still be dreaming but rebuilding teams have traded better players for less in my opinion. They don't really have any use for AA and i doubt people will be throwing a ton their way. There again i have no idea. If we involve a 3rd team we might can make it more palatable.
  14. Great article. That's definitely how i feel. Hell even if it was just this one thing:
  15. There were bad games to go around but yeah we were playing the best team in basketball. As far as Teague goes, every player has bad games. You can say Lebron 'took the night off' but he had a bad game and we played pretty good D on the best player in the world.
  16. I really hope Josh gets a big ovation. We all know his shortcomings but he did a lot for the Hawks.
  17. I thought that was Martin Short in the Three Amigos.
  18. So many horrible pass attempts (i'm not calling them passes) last night. We kept trying to pass it through the opposing players. Horford, Teague, Korver all did this. And then passes to empty spaces like we're running timing routes. Which we are i guess but you still have to make sure the guy is there. My other complaint was Horf trying to pass the ball when he's already in the lane. Just shoot it man! Still Bud made corrections. You saw guys come out of timeouts and play better defensively. We got rattled by a more experienced, more talented team. No biggie. Let's beat the Pistons. Will have more chances at the Heat.
  19. Would you trade for him? I would. He's 28 and has really improved in his career. I know there was talk of it over the summer but this season he's been really playing well and actually helping the Magic win games they probably shouldn't be winning. 21 points / 5 assists / 5 rebounds so far this year. Had a bad year last year shooting the 3 but is generally a good three point shooter. 26 for 52 this season. The question is who do we trade? Brand would almost have to go unless there was a third team involved just to make the salaries match. Maybe they'd take Jenkins or Cunningham too. Seems like he's going to be on the move somewhere. We aren't tanking, need a good starting 2 and i can't think of a better one that will be available.
  20. All I can say is if you're not first you're last
  21. Pero Antić should be starting and is better than Asik anyway.
  22. Well all playoff games are nationally televised but i know what mean. Still i think this team is different and we will learn a lot of this game. I think our leaders just fell back on the bad habits of years past which is why Bud went with the second unit who actually played it close. I like Bud's confidence that a mad effort to try to get back in a game that the Heat were going to win anyway isn't worth it at this point in the season. Still in the grace period as far as i'm concerned.
  23. Well you couldn't be more wrong. I can't remember how old I am but i can remember this Boris Diaw quote from his rookie year with the Hawks. Dunkin Donuts? Ha. Yew ain't from round here r ye.
  24. For whatever reason i saw this thread first. I think you manipulated the timestamps just to make me look stupid and harass me. :)
